Tips to reduce ur lag problems. - We all got em.

right this really applies to whoever has windows xp which should be the most of you lol. go to control panel,
switch to classic view.
go to system.
go under the advanced tab.
click on preformance settings and change settings for best preformance.

after you have done this you should notice that your desktop looks pretty boring and tasteless. but this makes your computer more efficient.and you should have a rise in fps and a decrease in ping.

Yeah if youcombine all the ways of reducing lag you get less lag over all. And you can only know if youlag when u ask others.

well if you havent read my 1st post it did say your desktop will be quite boring looking but you could just change the settings back to the flashy way again(keep in mind that, that will make ur comp a bit slower again.)

Ok, instead of just changing you style, if you have other programs that is using your connection(ex. Aol Instant Messenger.) just close it. Simple as that. Changing the style will just put a boost of about 1-2 fps. Wow!!! (Like that is something great.):laugh:

Evil- Just right click on the desktop and then click Properties. On the themes tab, click on Windows Xp in the drop down button. Then you can put your wallpapers, and screen savers that you had on your desktop before. :alien:

well what DA VIPA said really helped me out..
first i had 20 fps (i got pentium 4 not 3)
then i did what DA VIPA said
and i got 34 fps..

I have to send out many thanks to Da VIPA because his tips really helped. I have always played full screen, but minimizing the screen really made a difference, the game was no longer choppy and I can block 100 % better. Thanx again man.

I tried this a long time ago, didnt notice that much of a diff. but i avg near 40 fps to start with. but once you get a decent frame rate your opponent might start to teleport alot more. Making you feel like you are fighting an invisible opponent.

Here the best way for you to improve your lag.
Go to the taskbar(bottom of the screen) and right click.
Then click task manager, then click procsses.
End all processes that have your user name next to it.
but dont touch the explorer.exe or anything that has system next to it.

I REPEAT DONT TOUCH EXPLORER.EXE OR ANYTHING THAT HAS SYSTEM NEXT TO IT.

people sometimes get confused with this.
You can delete the iexplorer.exe but NOT the explore.exe

your welcome, what travon said is a good idea except you dont know what programmes you are shutting down since they all have weird names.i really close any programmes that takes up more than 9kb and its not even in use.
