I don't understand the people who disdain marriages of any type. Love is love: whether it is between men, women, or a man and a woman is their decision. To push them away from that, is to be cruel, rude, and dispicable.
To go along with the Christian Bible in these moments, you are not supposed to marry to the same gender. But people have their own minds now. People have begun to realize things that they could not realize a long time ago. It's not fair to tell them they're wrong just because some book with gold tipped pages that came from ancient scripts tells you that it is wrong. If you bring religion into this, please, remember that there are millions of people out there with different religions, many of which have no mention about this kind of thing. You can't go up to them and be against them because of your religion, as I am sure you should knowby now.
I myself am pushing for those rights: People deserve a chance to love who they want to love. If you believe in "true love", you should not be against this at all, lest your belief be tested by your prejudice.

edit: You don't need to be of a religion to get married. If I recall, this was all part of the marriage thread. If you want to get married, you can get married without going to an actual church, or without going through a huge ceremony that takes hours and hours to complete. It is only the choice of the marrying couple that completes this. In fact, you can get married if your aethiest (spelled it wrong, most likely). You can go and have marriage in a church, and still remain aethiest. It's not like the world's gonna crumble if someone gets married in a church and they don't believe in the bible, or for that matter, if they just don't believe in the bible.

Whoa hold up..I never said I dont believe in religion...sure I may be a christian..but for now, the bible and such has no real importance in my life..but maybe later on in my life I will accept some of its teachings. As for marrige, well yes..I will accept it definately before then, especially if the girl I choose to marry is heavy on religion..

The only thing that genetics have any effects on, are your physical features, and what you're allergic to, and immune to, etc. Sexuality stems from mentality, which sounds bad at first, but I assure you that it is not. HELLO, in the christian Bible, Mary was a Virgin, and she only recieved a baby because Angela said God would give her one, which would be their savior. She had never done anything to get the child yet. Whatever you had heard, was not from the Christian Bible, and I would advise you to read into it a little more before you continue a conversation like this.

If there was anything that this topic has served to be able to teach everyone, it's that religious beliefs that are placed in a debate can become highly dangerous. I would hope no one else says something of the same calibur, assuming that they hope to keep the forum calm.

Certain precautions must be taken before journeying into a debate like this, many of which have a lot to do with the state of mind. If you cannot look at what everyone one has to say, and understand what they had said, then you will be the match to begin the fire.

well, yeah, but some people on here may START the fire, and thats what i'm worried about. But if we can all have a dibate like the civilized, mature people we all are ( well, at least some ofus are :biggrin: ) then this topic could stay open.
