A few people know this but, when ever I get to 50 MB on my C: Drive(my main drive), I always go down back to 10 MB in about a week, it happened before when I had 100 MB, I went down to 5 MB for no reason... There's no virus in my comp(by the way I want to know if AVG is a reliable virus scanner).
I need at least 15 MB to play the game, if anyone knows my problem, please post it here, by the way these are my comp specs:
intel celeron
466 MHz
95 MB RAM
windows 2000/NT operating system
road runner cable modem
9.4 GB HDD(1.99 total in C drive, 7.30 total in D: drive, and 100 MB in E drive)

umm... windows sucks down hd space like there is no tommorow...
u need to free up more than 50 megs man... lol
also, delete EVERYTHING inside c:\windows\temp\ ... that might help things (all sorts of trash is stored there)
.. clearing browser cache wont' hurt either

You could do a disk cleanup under system tools, that gets rid of useless stuff on your comp.

Tark, even though I am assuming you have tried this, go to Tools on explorer, then go to internet options, then delete files which is the same thing as C:\windows\temp

I figured you would, but I thought I would have to give it a shot... :colgate:
Do you have a burner, playlist for winamp, etc.? They take up a lot of room...

My advice is to get a new hard drive. You should be able to pick up a 40 gig for around $70 or so. They're easy to install, too, I installed mine with no previous experience with that sort of thing. You don't even have to take out your existing hard drive; you could install the new one as a secondary hard drive, and then you'd have even more space. If you do that, just make sure that the jumper settings on the back of the 2nd hard drive are set to "slave" and not "master." That's what I do. I keep all my mp3s, roms, movies, etc. on my second hard drive.
Also, if you are constantly running out of space even after you've deleted and removed stuff, then you probably do have some sort of virus/trojan horse. Most anti-virus software out there is pretty worthless, in my opinion. The only way that it's effective is if you have the latest version of your anti-virus software, because new viruses come out all the time. I don't screw around when I get a virus. If I know for sure that I have a virus (e.g. "Fatal Errors" occuring all the time, browsing the net really slow, programs take a million years to start up, running out of hard drive space when you shouldn't be), or if I even suspect that I have a virus, I just reformat my computer. Actually, lately I've been using this software called "Power Quest Drive Image Backup," 'cause it's a hell of a lot faster than reformatting, but I'm getting off of the point...
:colgate:
If your computer is a Compaq, Dell, Gateway, and various others, you should have gotten a "Quick Restore" disk. Just pop that in and follow the directions, and after 30-40 minutes or so, your computer will be exactly the way it was when you first bought it.
BTW, on my computer, I have Windows ME, MS Office 2002, Wordperfect 2000, Norton anti-virus, AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo IM, Music Match, Winamp, and various other software on my main C: drive, and all that takes up 3 gig. All my other B.S. is on my other hard drive. That's just to give you an idea of how much space you should have when and if you reformat.

I'd rather buy a whole new comp than just get a hard drive, this comp is so whacked out, winzip doesn't even work so I had to delete it(shame....). I have a sucky CPU processor, very low RAM, bad hard drive, outdated(somewhat) operating system, jeez I could go on....
By the way can someone name me some good(not the best, or not average) comp specs that I should get?
