It's important to always welcome people when they've come back to you, especially when they're important to you. If they're a friend of yours, or if you really care for them, then you will be happy to see them, and sad to let them go -- no matter how many times that happens. That's why it is a big deal; at least to me. I despise everyone who would try to think it foolish, and I condone thoughts like the ones I've just quoted.

In fact, someday, you will come back to a place you haven't been to in a long time, and you will not be greeted warmly. Then you will understand why it is important to always greet the ones you care about. I never left (at least currently this year and last year), I just said I didn't want to be a moderator since I didn't have anything left to do in the game, I didn't say I was leaving. Now I want to be dedicated to the game, but that doesn't mean I'll be in the chat rooms, since I don't play the game anymore (well, only one a month).
