Whats your regular fps? - I want to know the range.

I just want to know whats everybody's regular FPS. My regular FPS is 37, and I run on 56k.

Now can everybody tell me theirs? First [b:post_uid9]tell me your connection type[/b:post_uid9] then, tell me your [b:post_uid9]average FPS[/b:post_uid9]

Note: FPS stands for [b:post_uid9]F[/b:post_uid9]rames [b:post_uid9]P[/b:post_uid9]er [b:post_uid9]S[/b:post_uid9]econd, and you can check this by typing [b:post_uid9]/fps[/b:post_uid9] in the chat while you are playing (You can do this in story mode as well).

iTALY asked for some proof, because he didn't believe a 56k user can get a FPS of 37! Well I got 35 (usually its 37, but I was playing music on AOL :D )

on the laptop i get a minumum of 40

fps is not just related to your connection

processing power,graphic cards also play a role, and if people have stuff like kazza which cause programs to run in the background of your comp. What i mean by background is that you never actually told the computer to run the application but it runs anyways cause it is installed in your start up area. Push control alt delete on a pc to see what is running in the background

The only program I ever have running is my AOL. Oh and I have Windows XP, the lastest and most updated version of Windows.

EDIT: ooohhh! Just think what my FPS would be if I didn't always have my AOL running and I had cable! :D

there are people who really should learn more about coputers before asking questions !

first this game is limited to 60 FPS max, so i doubt your chart to be good... it really should be something like this...

0-5, 6-10.11-15,16-20,21-25, etc... you know what i mean.

as for FPS and MODEM CONNECTION ?
let me tell you that this FPS thing is what your computer is capable of, and not your actual ping over the internet, which means that your FPS have nothing to do with your connection whatever it is !

your connection is merely a link between your computer and your ISP.
your internet connection stops there as after that it goes on FIBER OPTICS which can get easily over a gigabyte of data streaming per seconds !

so basically, you should have asked...
what your average FPS and what is your computer specs ! and not what is your connection, as the connection really has nothing to do with your FPS meter !

i'm somehwere between 35-45

SPECS:
CPU = CELERON 1700mhz
GPU = GF4 MX 440 Tv/Out
MEMORY = 512 DDR (can't remember which speed it is. 2100 or 2700)


but just in case i'll add my modem for people who really should know.
MODEM = 28.8 external Supra FAX Modem flashed at 33,6 !
but my phone line here is so old and still working (damn BELL when will they fix those damn lines) are limiting me at a mere 31,200 and that's because my HOUSE line, that line in my house. is fairly new. my mother has a GVC 56k and she's stuck at 28.8 !

that should tell you enough to know your facts next time you ask such a question !

oh and by the way, GPU mean VIDEO CARD ok !
also, remember that this game, if you get under 20 FPS, then you cannot have a good experience, this isn't due to the game, its your computer who is too weak for the game ! that TMyApp said it himself to DAN HIBIKI which thought he could play on a 166mhz ! porr guy tho !

anyway...
anything near the 1000mhz limit should have above 25 FPS at all time !

Well I get 40fps everytime.
Here's some of my system specs:
2600 MHZ Pentium 4
256 kingston ddr
Intel Extreme graphics (cheap replacement for a video card :laughlong: )
Connection 56k V.92
So its 40 fps everytime not lower or higher

well for my comp it usually depends on the person im playing....if the user has a slow pc...my fps is around 28... if the user has a fast pc....my fps is around 37 39.......

before my fps was way high around 45...but that was back then

in ping, i get 24, and like 200+ if im laggin. which is not usually, for some reason. im on a 56k.. =/

anyway... at normal a game should be going at about 30FPS maximum, and at TURBO it was suppose to go at 60FPS. TMyApp had said it himself back then. but you'r right how can he have heard about it if he can't find the thread it was in, you know what, i don't care what's the maximum FPS anyway.

i know its 60 on turbo and 30 on normal. or is it the other way around ?

yeah sorry its the other way around.
in turbo you're limited at at a lower FPS when on NORMAL you get it to 60FPS.
that's why the game seems slower in normal mode !

umm.. yeah.. i have news for you people...

the engine cap is @ 40fps ... which means, no matter WHAT computer you have, no matter HOW fast it is, it will NEVER run at more than 40 frames per second... :biggrin:

... why not make it more than 40 ?? well, it just makes no sence... even now, anything about 30-35 is a waste (ie: those extra frames will be refreshed on screen, but none of the graphics/data will change ) ...

On a decent Computer.. no matter what kinda moderm, you should get an fps of 35-40 which would help you run the game smoother..
