Ken - Ken is better than ryu pt1

I cannot understand why anyone would say that ryu is better than Ken Masters.All ryu can do is hadokens and his shurkens are pretty weak along with his hurricane kick.Ken can even beat that lame character that people get all hyped for and that person is evil ryu.Now to me akuma is like a dark ken who is toned down a bit but gets a super super combo.and that combo is the demon rage combo.[img:post_uid6]http://www.phenixsol.com/Miko/SF2/sf2Kensfz2.jpg[/img:post_uid6]

omg stop this now, before any one flames u just to let you know. That Ken is better at the rising dragon fist move aka Shouryuken then Ryu and plus has more speed. Ryu is great with the surge fist aka Hadouken, and Ryu speed is normal and his Shouryuken is weak but he makes up for it with his advanced Hadouken. And with Ken dont even bother to use his hadouken alot its very slow and weak. Akuma master the stlye of the Shotoken and is average on all moves.

Conclusion they all have their str and weakness no one is better then the other.

Listen to me kid at a novice level ken is the best,but once you develop strategy you will discover Ryu is the overall best character.

Now in a tag match I'd say ken is the superior fighter because he can then perform a shinkuhadoken just like ryu when they do there double team.

Without powerfull projectiles you will fall.If it were a battle without projectiles then perphaps ken would be the better fighter.


Oddily enough ryu never beat ken,but ken has beaten ryu but that was a flash back of there childhood together.

Don't you realize after playing this game that a simple projectile can stop anything.

Haven't you noticed the flaws in attacks by now.

Ryu is a perfect character.He can defeat you from a distance and in your face.

My favorite characters are=

Ken Masters
Dan Hibiki
Cammy
Vega.

But I realize at the level of a person equally skilled as you and lets say your very skilled a character without decent projectiles vs. a character with projectiles will fail.

All a skilled or even a #### player would have to do this pummel the other player with is projectiles.

With or without lagg....seriousily ken or any other character is no match for ryu.....=/

Anyway.. this bickering has been going on for too long.. and personally.. I think it's cool :biggrin: ..
I like Ken.. he's my favourite character... I mean.. you can't deny the flair of Ken's moves.. style, poise, agility.. you name it.. He's one of the elite characters. :biggrin:

Anyway.. Ryu and Ken differ in various ways.. though they're both shotokaners.. they differ in their methods of excecution.

On one hand you have ryu whose bent on perfecting skill and more of substance over style, on the other hand you have ken who goes for style over substance..

Concluding that one is better than the other one.. is utterly vague.. but it's something I wouldn't mind saying.. just b'cos I like Ken.. this also goes for the person who created the topic. :biggrin:
So.. if you're into a character who has more speed and just lots of flashy combos.. then you'll love Ken.. and if you're well.. *cougH* into style over substance, then Ryu is the man for you..

BUT.. professionaly speaking.. as the tactical aspects of the game begin to unfold, you'll notice that Ryu has a little bit of advantage.. He can inflict pain from far range, and also.. close battles.. making him really handy.. Ken, on the other hand.. needs to be close to inflict any real damage..
So.. whichever one you think you can masters.. *cougH* I mean.. master.. good for you! :biggrin:

He may be more powerful,but there will be to much lag,and also,power dosent count 4 everything.Overall,in ps1 games,yes ken would be the best(and is my favourite),but in this game,he could easily be beaten,such as when he land from his uppercut,hes gone :D

It's really all how you look at because if you have lag speed won't do a thing and if you have power what is the point of having all the power if you can't touch the person.

I'm getting tired of these topics: Who is the best? You guys it's not the character himself, it's the player. If you have a powerful/fast person what does it matter if you can't play you are going to lose anyways. The character can't fight on his own.

It really just matter on ur style. Me, I like speed and the Capoeira(dance) way of fighting.

First of all, there is no such thing as "this character sucks, and this one rulezzz" when you look at a fighting game. Only way you can say "character name" sucks is for personal reasons you don't like him. I fought my friend in street fighter third strike and he is profesional. I played with Akuma he played with urien. At frist I looked and said "bah urien cant do spit, i got raging demon, fireballs teleport and all sorts of tricks. Well he whooped my ass in a 34 hit super art combo with Urien. Talk about skill huh? And urien has nothing but punches, kicks and tackles and his ancient reflector super. Then there was this match I had at my local arcade against a guy who i randomly asked to play me in marve| vs capcom , i even payed for it. I couldn't touch his Zangief and Hulk because that cat was fast with them and knew what he was doing. So elena is right you can't judge a character by ease ofuse or personal reasons (appearance etc.). It is all up to the human who operates the ord(cpu).

he is right it depends on who the person is who is using the charcter the way you fight is the way your charcter will work best for you all charcters have strengths and weaknesses the only way we would be able to figur this out would be to get the best user of each charcter have a big tourny and see who th ultimate charcter is even still though it wouldnt work out cause tournys dont always show who the best fighter is it depends on whos usin him unless its a cheap charcter like a boss charcter and even somtimes there a rip and can be killed ez .... there is no ultimate charcter so every1 stop fightin its called spamming and you guys are doing alot of it .......

it dont matter if yougot lag speed, dsl, cable, t connection wateva.... its been proven before u dont need speed to kick someones ass in this XVSSF/STREETFIGHTER GAME...

Mvc2sucks proved it before (back in the days) with 28k, Netzero proved it before with 28k, PROfessor proved it before with 56k...

ima get my pc reformatted today...when i come back in the game i bet u i dont even need to move left and right to beat you ppl...all i need to do is go up and down....ill show u that speed isnt everything...power is...
