Dbz: the movie - Your thoughts

.. Well I guess it's no longer new news..
But for those who do not know, :biggrin: there would be a
Dragonball Z movie coming out very soon... and there has
been a lotta speculations about who would play this and that
but you can post your thoughts and comments here. The
movie would be made by 20th century fox and the director
is the same person that did Godzilla, the patriot and independence Ronald Emmerich
day :biggrin: Expect mighty explosions!

because i took my facts !

20century fox are the right owner and producer, normally they don't make movies that are that weak !
i think of XMEN that even tho it wasn't exactly the xmen like the series, they still have made it look like the xmen !

so DBZ is definite GO for them...
the old JAPANSES movie that came out about 10 years ago was total bullpoop, but if someone can bring back the fame of DBZ in a live action movie, they surely can !

other fact i know...
AKIRA TORIYAMA is there and will do the script and will help in making the characters !
so i say, if the creator itself is there, one more reason to believe in it ! cause he said himself that he does believe it can be done now that he have seen what the industry have done recently !

so i say, don't rate it now, just because other anime like SF failed.
look at the company, look at th efacts and you'll see that this movie is far from going like the rest of the live action movies !

that's how the poll finished !
for my part, i would really see the contrary !
jackie chan as goku would just make it perfect fit. and vegeta being JET LI is a perfect fit as well !

-in GT, Nappa comes back to life, and Dr. Gero lives in hell

-in DB/Z, Toriyama states that a full-blooded Saiya-jin can NEVER change their hairstyle
-in GT, Vegeta, who is a full-blooded Saiya-jin, cuts his hair and grows a mustache

-in DB/Z, Toriyama states that because Gohan became Mystic at the end of DBZ (when he was given the powerup by Rou Dai Kaioushin), he can never go SSJ again
-in GT, Gohan goes SSJ

-in DB/Z, ALL SSJ forms have gold hair, blue/green eyes. Toriyama states that the legendary SSJ form is the golden Ozouru (giant monkey)
-in GT, they create a form that has black hair, yellow eyes, and pink fur, and say it's SSJ (but since it doesn't have gold hair and blue/green eyes, it's not SSJ). Other ppl say that it's the legendary SSJ or "true" SSJ and therefore doesn't apply to the rules, but that's false, because the legendary or "true" SSJ is really the Golden Ozourou.


however, onto the movie...

I for one believe the movie is going to blow. A few rumors I heard from fairly reliable sources:

-They changed the name of Muten Roshi for the movie. In the movie, he is known as Master Lee

-They made Buruma (Bulma) a fighter.

-Hugh Jackman is slated to play Vegeta

-There are supposed to be three movies, one each for Saiya-jin, Cell, and Buu sagas

-There will be NO computer-generated characters. This means that Furiza, Cell, Buu....they'll ALL be actors, no CG here. Gawd..


Personally, I think that they should make the movie with REALISTIC animation, but not live-action. If they used the same engine that they used for the Final Fantasy movie, the DBZ movie would turn out a million times better than it's going to turn out. But that's just my opinion.

i do agree with you that ts gonna be only half of what DBZ would really be if its a live action movie.

but like i said, don't give up guy. if its 20th century fox who has the contract, we will have a very good chance of getting a very good movie !

man, i quite don't see him throwing a blast !
i mean come on... he did wolverine in cmen so i say yeah he got quite an super hero attitude. but throwing a blast is more like any japanese guys !

FOX is shooting for a PG-13 rating and a running time of somewhere between 3 to 4 hours. They are hoping for the DBZ movie saga to be 4 episodes long (4 movies). Starting in The Saiyan Saga, The Frieza Saga, The Android/Cell Saga, and the Majin Buu Saga.
George Lucas' CGI company ILM has signed a contract to do the special effects. Some sad news, due to casting and scheduling difficulties, filming that was set to begin real soon has been put off until Summer 2004. The original Release Date. Once the movie is finished filming and all post-production effects are added in, this movie may not be out until well into 2005.

As of right now there is no definite title. The most obvious choice would be plain "DragonBall Z", but FOX is also leaning toward "DragonBall Z: Unlimited" or "DragonBall Z: Fight For Man Kind."

None of this information is confirmed.

toryama states that a sayan can never change their hairstyleactually they can change their hairstyle it just wont grow (xcept for ss3 and ss4) but they can cut it. but i dunno about the mustache thing thats kinda iffy

for all the eps i've seen i always just saw him cut his hair and nothing more !

and yeah, they said that the hair never changes by themselves, he is born with those and will die with the same. never have they mentionned that the hair couldn't be cutted.

i guess too that once cutted they don't grow back, so for them its a big THINKING BEFORE DOING thing !

it just grows back after so long I dont remember the exact ammount of time but it was around 10-12 hours btw tuko you really need a life...

well they were all fakes after the frieza saga considering that the last scouter was ever found in the frieza saga !

same goes for all others facts that cannot be found int he manga or the TV show. cause the only source that has been found was akira himself, which i really doubt that some have seen ! cause i never saw anything from akira toriyama on the internet.

so really, if you saw those, then those people were telling things they THOUGHT was the truth !

sorry, trunks, but your wrong. Once in sayian is born, their hair NEVER grows. The amount of hair you get the day you are born, is the same amount you will always have(unless you cut it)

Now, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that one of you think there hair style can never change. Well that's wrong. I highly doubt Nappa was born bald.

How do I know? because I have an entire copy of the MANGA written by Toriyama himself.
