First off, ANY "I hate marvel :angryfire:" type posts will be deleted and their poster will be BANNED--NO EXCEPTIONS.

Also, NO advertising other sites here, or suggesting ways to revive the site.

This is a serious topic, and I'm gonna be a LOT more strict on the rulse, since these posts will have a lot of thought put into them.

THe purpose of this topic is for people to post their thoughts, praises, memories, etc on XvsSF and this community. Ie, posts should generally be longer than 3 words, and have some serious thought put into them.

Again, I want to see no flaming, suggestions for reviving the site, or advertising other sites. Break these rules, and I cannot guarentee that your account will remain active.

ahhhh, reminiscing, the good ol' days
i remember when i first came here in this forum, i got over excited in posting and made the mistake of double posting

good thing 2k2warrior was around to flame me

but anywayz, the first topic i made here was about how to put images on replies, honestly it was my first time to be in a forum and i have no hell of an idea what this IB code was or HTML, but hey guess what, i still dunno them

so many vets were around, i see them cursing one another but i ignored them, then i wonder...when would i be popular in this community? when would they recognize my presence?

ahhhh...then thats the start bombarding this forum with suggestions...

ones like a world wrestling type of tourney where the victor would be declared world champion
tmyapp even joked about making a special belt for the winner

then i also suggested having an xvssf official banner
a poll if ppl wanna change the forum's skin
changing the VIP color motiff
changing the color of onslaught just in case youre playing the same character and others...

in the end i also made a serious topic
a topic about pondering how long each of the ppl here would gonna stay and remain, how long they plan to keep taking part in the community

i also made a topic like how each ppl would like them to be remembered when/if they leave

its funny to think that all of these serious topics were replaced with some insanity when ppl took notice my longest $hit topic, its the worst topic i ever made and for that i gained recognition...

*sigh*

those were the good ol' days, anyways, its a good thing to see how this community is surviving...so i guess, until the next level of gaming....(if tmyapp decides)....MABUHAY!

sorry... i gotta say it now, and viper... do what ya gotta do if you think its too harsh or something !

my father always said to me that we don't live with memories !
they are nothing more then a pain that comes fromt hehearth to make us remember the mistakes we did ! which brings us into even more painfull days then we were before !

i must say that i agree with him to some extent.
i mean, come on... think a little... what is this topic ever gonna do except bring back more pain into our times of need that are already painfull like they are ?

i say, its been a while now... stop making us remember the things itself !

remember, the site is dead, not the forum !
i remember the day i first came in !
can't remember the first thing i've said, but i know that i never really made any topic in the first place.
i will still remember the good old days i had here and even in the site.
but now its gone, what good is it to continu bragging about it after a month ?

sorry if it was harsh, but i kinda hate those topics !
they are nothing more then painfull memories.
its all they are.

i'm still talking about the site ok...
the forum is still alive and i doubt tmyapp to ever close it !
if ya want to talk about somthing, talk about the site, not the forum like KKS and flameknight have done, because this forum, isn't dead yet !

I remember when I came to the site in October of 2001... I came on and I put in the name TJ5 heh.. Then I went to my options and changed the controls to Up Down Left right - sound 50 music 50 - No backround. I remember my 1st fight it was against my friend from school lol.. I won... Ryu vs Ryu I got 5 bucks XD, Then when wolvie was out I fought jonlegos he beat me 2 fights... -_-'.. then I switched to wolverine and owned... he then madly flamed me and then left...I never saw him again..... LOL months passed and I returned to the site after that I joined the forum, I didnt like forums b4 so the forum date isnt my "site entrance date" =/. I had a lot of good matches and a lot of people were nice and respectful. I got along with the mods and admins Leftyfb and Tmyapp and I was Voted Nicest guy on PX  .. time passed and then the mad new comers came... they madly flamed and caused trouble... I then broke my niceness and went on the offensive...being voted the most insane person on PX -_-' (probably) lol.. Then Came the ERA Known as Psycho Cyclops era (named by TJ5 fans lol its true) Where I WAS ONE OF THE FEW TOTALLY MASTERED NON-CHEAP CYCLOPS USERS. The site was a great experience and I wish it couldve lasted a bit longer

Thanks you to Tmyapp, Leftyfb, The Moderators, The Respectful Members of PX and the respectful people I fought. It was a good experience for me

well, although this is a tad off topic, I'll answer you, SSJKarma, because you do have a valid point....but think--without memories, there would be no point in living. Whats the point in going on vacation, without memories? The moment is fleeting, and only memory keeps it worthwhile.

We cannot hide from the fact that this community is in trouble, but we CAN take some time to get lost in nostalgia and remember our favorite memories.

I enjoy, for instance, remembering the times when I had truely profound discussions with such members as Troy88 (ah, i miss him), and of course with you, the one person who I could always end up in a debate with, SSJKarma. Many a time you put me in my place, but it was all in good humor. To try to forget such memories would be a crime--they need to be cherished, not trashed.

well... i'm just glad you understand my point viper !
i know memories are part of us, but really, what good is it ?
i do live with thme, but i don't need to make them part of your lives as well by talking about them here !

i remember them for myself.
and its true that memories give you a good time, but like drugs, its only temporary !
it will not do anything to the current solution.
the past is the past, enjoy the things when they happen.

anyway... not gonna add more to that, not wanting to go off topic anymore !

I would've shown my first post here, but I can't find it... =/

Scorpy's story

I was bored one day, cruising around the web looking for free online sites. I pulled up ArcadePod, with it's ridiculous amounts of links to sites. Under "Best Rated/Most Played" or something along those lines, was XMvsSF (Online). It had a picture of Cyclops doing an aerial super, and Rouge was on the stage too... so I thought, "Hmm.. haven't played Street Fighter in years, might be something nice to try.."

So I loaded the site. The earliest screen I can remember is the picture of the Sentinel's flying around, announcing the coming of NOTS, then I had to go through the Shockwave update thing.. and finally ended up logging in as "Player". Well, being the intelligent person I am ( ) I went to options first, looked around at all the stuff, and went to Practice mode. I tried out Wolverine first... then noticed Ryu was there, I remembered him from a while ago, using him in first grade... Barney was the only thing that Practice mode offered, and at the time it wasn't very appealing. So I went into the servers, had a few matches, exited the site, and kind of stopped playing it... I remember coming back for NOTS (Heh... my favorite background music for the stages) and trying out the new Sentinel.

I think I started to be more active then... I don't think I made an account until June, that's when I got my e-mail address (From what I remember). Then in July... I noticed the clans section at Senshuk... noticed the SM Site... decided to join

I sent the guy (KKS) an e-mail, he made me register at Senshuk, (The nerve of the guy! ) tested me (Clobbered my sorry skills), and had slk_rlk test me (see KKS). But alas, I got in..
Made a few stupid topics in the clan forum, you know, I was new ;) "There's a picture of Wolverine in the top scores" HAHA
Heh.. it didn't turn out to be a bad topic actually..
My first post was a long one... 10-25 lines, with proper grammar, I might add
And no... it wasn't blue.

More to come... =/

ahhh yes....the memories and great experiences i had with xvssf. I first joined august 2002 but not with this username. I beleive it was "karateka". I remember myself playing with my old HP notebook with a 200mhz geiser lol! The site skipped frames of course and ran rather slowly on my laptop but NOOOO It wasn't the geiser laptop i had told myself. I was convinced that the site actually ran so slowly and that it wasnt the laptop or anything. I lost alot of fights and didnt know about hypermoves. All I knew where the basic tricks like the hadou-ken and all the regular moves with ryu since i played streetfighter ever since i was 8 on systems like Super nintendo, later on playstation. So when you combine my 200mhz geiser and all the lag the site had back then you pretty much get a "impossible to win" type of match. I cursed and flamed ppl in the little chat box with ridicolous statements like:"I hit you 100 times but your energy doesnt get down you f-ing bitch" lol! These are memories I will never forget.
TmyApp I want to thank you so much for bringing me all the fun I could have online with this site for free. I'm not gonna give you any suggestions because what you do is your thing and what you beleive in you should follow.

Peace, Ken-Po :laughlong:

well, I'm back from vacation (ironic, my last post in here, isnt it? hint to ssjkarma  )

and i must say, im pleased that people can fondly remember the days of yore when rank 1 was a prestigious (well, somewhat) position, and when we didnt have evil corporations breathing down our necks, when X-men vs Streetfighter Online was a fledgling community of people who just wanted a few minutes (or hours) to relax, and enjoy a quality shockwave site.

Many people here seem to have gone through the same stages of membership here: Player, member, retired, returning vet, and i am one of them. Yes, I have been here a long time, but like many, i took a vacation from the site which in my case lasted from march/april 2002-end of july, 2002, but in the end, the site retained its hold on me, and i had to come back. From then, it was a long, hard struggle to regain my skills from before, but i never fully recovered them...then, september 2002, the worst happened. I found out that my college had a firewall, and thought that my XvsSf days were done....mid october, I finally found a way around it, and for a few weeks, was unbeatable (for who knows what reason). To this day, I have yet to regain the skills that I had from Nov 2002 to Jan 2002...

But I shall not stop trying....

i was a regualer to the site BUT YET PPL NEVER NOTICED ME! still i had a few good fights . I think i even beat the 2dn place champiomn at one point but he owned me during rematch. Then came the poll results when i found akuma would be the nxt character in the site. I thought finally a chance to get my own back on those dam VIPs who keep using temma gou. I just didnt like the way ure rank really dropped cuz u were away from the site 4 awhile cuz it isnt our rank that determined how good we are its our strategy. anayways its time to let the site RID (rest in digits)
