Im not sure how many people already use this, but when you go to projectx.cyberfuturism.com, and you click "start", try using the "download" button. Maybe people think its hard, or complicated, but its really easy and saves time.
As for taking up space on your hard drive, this isnt an issue. The download takes up about 10.5 mB, which is pretty much what you end up downloading to your TEMP folder whenever you press the "mirror 1" button. Youre not losing any disk space if you delete the mirror 1 files after downloading the game--I'll get into that further on.
It takes about 5-10 minutes to get the game downloaded, but once it is, you can start up Xmen Vs Streetfighter Online straight from your desktop, with a load time of about 5 seconds (no matter what your connection) and it saves TMyApp money. This is especially good if you only plan on chatting.
To do the download:
first, create a folder on your computer for the purpose of holding all of the game files. I recommend something in My Documents, as it is easy to access. Call it whatever you want.
now you need to download these files to the folder you created in the first step:
xvssf07b.exe (http://www3.sympatico.ca/tony.tomas/full/xvssf07b.exe)
cWolverine.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cWolverine.cct)
cChunLi.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cChunLi.cct)
cCyclops.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cCyclops.cct)
cHSentinel.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cHSentinel.cct)
cOnslaught.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cOnslaught.cct)
cRyu.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cRyu.cct)
cSpiderman.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cSpiderman.cct)
cMusic.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cMusic.cct)
cSounds.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cSounds.cct)
cBack2.cct (http://home.cogeco.ca/~rmaule1/full/cBack2.cct)
Like I said, download ALL of them to that folder you created above.
To play the game, just go into the folder where you put all of the files and double click xvssf07a.exe
The game window will open, but the load time will be pretty much gone.
You can, if you wish, create a shortcut to xvssf07a.exe on your desktop.
Again, this download replaces the load times, and so youre really not losing any disk space--if you click on mirror 1, you just download temporary files of about the same size.
When a new version is released, you just go to the download page (http://www3.sympatico.ca/tony.tomas/download02.jpg (http://projectx.cyberfuturism.com/download.htm)) and there should be about 3 new files at the top--they will help you upgrade. One of the files will say something like "version 0.6 to 0.7a upgrade" or something. When you download that, you have to run it once to complete the upgrade. The other new files are just downloaded in the same way as the ones above.
If you ever need to get to the download page, either click here:http://www3.sympatico.ca/tony.tomas/download02.jpg (http://projectx.cyberfuturism.com/download.htm), or go to projectx.cyberfuturism.com and click start, then click download.
