From the word of TMyApp:

well.. what can i say... we're down...

as i was updating to the new versin of the game (0.6b ... which would include a playable version of Onslaught) the hosting plan/company that we were using finally cut us off... (at 35,000+ hits per week, and over 210,000 users... i'm VERY surprised we went on this long)

currently, neither myself or lefty can handle these hits for the 7.5 meg file of the game (that is why we were using OTHER servers all this time to host the main shockwave file of) ... in addition, i simply cannot afford to dump even MORE money on maintainig this "100% free" project that brings in no cash what so ever...

not sure what else to add.. but.. until further notice (hours.. days... weeks .. months ??) we are down... for good...

i just have to say im very impressed in the number of people who are comming back just to give there oppinion... this has made many old vets come back and post maybe if the game comes back online there will be alot more users since the vets are "back" .....

wow, judgement day arrives eh? I do feel crappy about this, but TMyApp, although some may not want to hear this, you should do what you want regardless of what we say. If you think you dont get the repsect you deserve (which you definitely dont) and if this is such a pain to work out (which it obviously is), I say, do what you want. If you want to pull it, dont let a bunch of two-faced members prevent you from doing it. Sure, there are those <100 members that do show respect for this game (I can safely say I'm one of them), but if <100 is poor, stop doing this. For once, do what you want to do for yourself. This is an absolute marvel on the amount of work done to convert the classic to this cpu original. If this was put in money terms, infinite hours of painstaking work+dealing with more bugs than ever conceived+making inumerable posts+coping with ungrateful b*stards that are spoiled and enjoy things being handed to them=one hell of a lot of money. I'm not going to talk about fights, and ranks, and tourneys, cause they dont matter. I want to say thank you for your work, sorry for your grievances, and thank you for your work, your minimal-sleep nights, your dedication, and your friendship to everyone, including the disrespectful members. There is a lot you do not know, and you'd be wise to stop coming to your own conclusions -- it makes you look stupid to those who know the truth.

And here's something just to prove to you that the game is indeed legit, and TMy knows about it. You would not be able to play the game if he didn't have certain things turned on AT HIS HOUSE. If he though anyone was stealing his game, he could just change a setting there, or pull the plug altogether to keep you from playing...YOU think about that.


As for everyone else complaining about the size of the window -- I did that on purpose. The window is now set at the DEFAULT size you SHOULD be playing the game. TMy allowed you to maximize it, however in doing so he also allowed people to make the game laggier. Simple truth is that shockwave it a system resource whore, the bigger you make that window, the more stress you put on your processor, and that includes stressing its ability to send packets to other players. THUS it can create more lag. So I just decided to put a fix on that problem.

Woah, woah, wait. (Here comes another one of my stupid thingers...) Just because Karma made some conclusions doesn't mean he should look stupid to the eyes of those who know the truth. first: by definition i consider that as dead since you can't play the damn thing and there is nothing to do until tmyapp succeed in reviving it ! that could take lots of time and we would never know when the game will be up again so YEAH i CONSIDER THAT HAS DEAD ! but i know it can be revived... BUT when ? YOU can't tell when and i can't either !

second: even if TMyApp has known about it, you said it yourself, IT IS TEMPORARY ! so i am right by saying that it is not OFFICIAL and i am also right by saying you won't have any update either !

SSJKarma: I don't really wanna get into some "debate" with you about the game, but let me make a few things clear to your eyes:

1. You CAN play the game at vgmfusion (http://www.vgmfusion.com). And by your own definition of dead, since you can actually play it... it is not dead.

The only person who can say when the game is actually dead is TMyApp himself.

Would you judge a site that's down for a few days due to over traffic "dead"?

Would you judge a site that's switching servers, and results in being "down" for a few days to be "dead"?

Would you deem a pay-game that is consequently a beta version (like AC2) that is down for a few days because it's switching hosts/servers to be dead just because you can't play it for a short time to be "dead"?

If you answer no to any of the above questions... then by that sheer same logic/thought process, you can EASILY arrive at the fact that the game is NOT dead.

2. I swear to god.. if you don't think that Zing79 and Quass didn't first tell TMyApp what they were going to/planning to do at vgmfusion, and consequently gotten his consent before going about "hosting" the game at vgmfusion, then something must be wrong with you.

And further more, since that DID happen, and TMyApp is well aware of/approving of their temporary hosting of the game, then how is it so hard for you to grasp the concept that it's being "officially" hosted by vgmfusion for the time being?

3. Yes.. you are entitled to your oppinion. And unforturnatly (for you and your oppinion), Zing79 and us people who are "in charge" around here are givin "inside" information above your knowledge about the game's opperation/future.

4. NO mod thinks just because they're a mod they can do whatever they want. If they did, they sure as hell wouldn't last long.

Well, there you have it. I tried not to blow anything out of proportion, but it's there for you to accept or not accept.

As I said...just accept the fact that in NO universe (parallel or otherwise), is the game dead. Every single person who actually knows anything about the game is telling you the game is not dead.

What other proof do you need SSJ?
Do you need TMy to shut down projectx, and move everything over to VGM before you call it the 'official' home of the game? Cause im starting to give serious thought to perminantly hosting the game just to end your entire argument. :D

(And for those of you who think thats alot of work just to prove a point, I only have this to say "you obviously don't know me" :p)
true the game isn't dead, but everyone is complaining like it is. Tmy is doing what he has to do, and whenever he (and project-x team) can get it back online, deal with the wait time. the game is free, there's only a few people pulling out their wallets here.

not to mention, there's even fewer people looking for the best server for the game's needs.

Even though you (zing) are currently hosting the game over at vgm fusion.

The Projectx.Cyberfuturism.com site (the URL most frequently found and accessed for the game.) is "inactive".
So until that page is "active" again...the game will be widely coincidered "dead" or "down".

Realy the only way for the game to "live" at this moment...would be for TmyApp to link the projectx.cyberfuturism.com "start" button to your vgm fusion hosted version of the game. (BTW: I like how you set that page up...looks cool...very loud...but alas..."not home". :(

Plus I am sure there are ALOT of 3rd party gaming websites. That are directly linked to the game page it's self.....That now have dead links.http://bbs.projectx.cyberfuturism.com/non-cgi/Skin/Default/PostIcons/icon4.gif (i kinda like that thought)

TmyApp:You could turn on mirror 2 and send some traffic towards the VGM version of the game...provided VGM can handle the it.
It would shut up many...and help VGM get some more viewers via their ad.

SSJKarma: I don't really wanna get into some "debate" with you about the game, but let me make a few things clear to your eyes:

1. You CAN play the game at vgmfusion (http://www.vgmfusion.com). And by your [b:post_uid6]own[/b:post_uid6] definition of dead, since you can actually play it... it is [b:post_uid6]not[/b:post_uid6] dead.

The [b:post_uid6]only[/b:post_uid6] person who can say when the game is actually dead is TMyApp himself.

Would you judge a site that's down for a few days due to over traffic "dead"?

Would you judge a site that's switching servers, and results in being "down" for a few days to be "dead"?

Would you deem a pay-game that is consequently a beta version (like AC2) that is down for a few days because it's switching hosts/servers to be dead just because you can't play it for a short time to be "dead"?

If you answer no to any of the above questions... then by that sheer same logic/thought process, you can EASILY arrive at the fact that the game is NOT dead.

2. I swear to god.. if you don't think that Zing79 and Quass didn't [b:post_uid6]first[/b:post_uid6] tell TMyApp what they were going to/planning to do at vgmfusion, and consequently gotten his consent before going about "hosting" the game at vgmfusion, then something must be wrong with you.

And further more, since that DID happen, and TMyApp is well aware of/approving of their temporary hosting of the game, then how is it so hard for you to grasp the concept that it's being "officially" hosted by vgmfusion for the time being?

3. Yes.. you are entitled to your oppinion. And unforturnatly (for you and your oppinion), Zing79 and us people who are "in charge" around here are givin "inside" information above your knowledge about the game's opperation/future.

4. NO mod thinks just because they're a mod they can do whatever they want. If they did, they sure as hell wouldn't last long.

Alright here it is all you need o know is above alright.mr Ssjkarma read it 6 times now zing is right correct.The actual game is not down because why would 2000warrior post the vgmfusion link.I don' think he would its not a false hope it can actually help I saw the loading bar my self.Plz SSjkarma click the link playthe game and enjoy.Goes to his store and gives SSjkarma a nestle crunch bar you earned it again.Hope it makes you feel crunchier :biggrin: Also the game is not really dead it's alive.Now version 0.6b yea tmyappz is working on it he said so in that donate thing.Also if any thing the that version is unconscience he is fixing it to better health while he can try to get it online again :lol: :biggrin:
