View Full Version : Not another new character topic! - Well...sort of....

I'm writing (typing?) this while assuming we'll have only one new character for a long time.
Firstly, of all the characters that are available, why should we choose Gouki/Akuma or Ken? He's so similar to Ryu compared with the other characters available-at least Sakura has a slightly different fighting style.
I don't think we should choose Zangief coz I think he's more of an "expert" fighter, and wouldn't appeal to beginners.
I'd like to see Gambit, but I think he's also more of an expert fighter.
My vote would go for either Magneto or Cammy, as they have different fighting styles to the ones available. (Also because I've just recently acquired MArvel Super Heroes, and whupped *EVERYONE'S" @ss with Magneto's air combos!
Views please.

I think the reason so many ppl want the "shotokan type characters" is b/c they know it will take much less time to make them then say, your magneto. Why? b/c akuma/ken is so similar to Ryu, who we already have. Taking much less time to create. Therefore, we have a new character in perhaps a month or two. It would probably take as much time to create Magneto as it did Spider Man. Can't quite remember how long it took, but I think it was close to 6 months.
1-2 months > 6 months

just correct me if i'm wrong but magneto can fly cant he?
cos if he can then he'll take a long time to make since as well as having to create him and give him all his moves then tmy will also have to put in the flying ability.

Kidkrazyshi#t I'm not positive about this, but I think it doesn't matter what character we choose it takes about the same amount of time for TMy to create, because even if the characters are similar the code u have to put in is very different. Correct me if I'm wrong though :D

*pinches tarkanx* What is so bad about having magneto except for the lag and a long time waiting...Ohhh now i see it. I think we should stick to ppl like ken and akuma so its less time and if Tmy takes his time making akuma maybe he will implament throws which will make way for zangief.

ok, its just a little something that people seems to forget here !
Spider Man. Can't quite remember how long it took, but I think it was close to 6 months.

spiderman was created in 1 month KKS !
cyclops tooks about 4 and a half months !
but you gotta look at the big picture !
he made spiderman from scratch and didn't do anything more then him because he wanted us to have him for the 25 !
cyclops took 4 months because he was also making NOTS which had a lot more features then cyclops had, so NOTS took like 95% of his time of programming, thus always delaying CYCLOPS !
other fact... knowing what TMYAPP is using to creat this game...
coding is easier when you use COPY/PASTE but is not necessarily faster !
why ?
because he still have to adjust things...
and even if AKUMA,DAN,KEN,SAKURA ar shoto's they all have different style of fighting !
its not like RYU and KEN were in the very first SF2 game !
they have a lot more differences then it seems !
which means, he will not have less time for them then he does for one other characters !
even if you choose KEN... he doesn't have the same MOVES, he doesn't have the same SPECIALS, he doesn't have the same SUPERS... now, how would he be faster to made if he as nothing in common except for his sprites ?
BTW... he doesn't draw sprites, he rips em fromt he game, which means it takes the very same time for every single character !
as for diversity... i agree, but i'll still vote for DAN HIBIKI since he has his own style of fighting and still have those strong moves !

Well, I prefer X-men over Sf characters....but there is only 2 of the SF characters , so I think it should be evened up..Which is why I would vote for Akuma or Ken...yes I dont like them and probably never will use em...but we need more street fighters, and I'm not gonna waste my vote on Dan Hibiki. :alien:

Yo peoples, the new character should most definetely be storm. Uh, if shes not already in the game. (I only play practice cause i don't want to take my firewall down) Shes awesoms, and her moves rock.
i kinda like dan...he seems kool....but he got "weak" attacks...... i mean very "weak"
The only character im waitin for is the walking tank,wall,or what ever strong, Juggernaut. He makes anyone look like a pipsqueak (cant wait to see that)... :laugh:

there are three sf fighters if you count evil ryu and it'll take the same amount so it doesn't really matter the only reason that it takes to long is becuz he has other updates to make or there would be to many bugs

Yes, maybe so...but then we can get him made and vote for a good charcter the next time.
We need an sf chara . . . ADD CAMMY! Her moves are basic, and she doesn't even have any projectiles! Plus, a flashy Cammy pic at the loading screen will attrack people . . . :D

i would say gambit because his hits r good u and do 2 specails and it would go 2 100 thats alot thats like 3 or 5 bars we will be in chnager
