I have some good news, and some bad news.

If you ONLY hvae a firewall, you can click "old connection mode" in options. Then you could host.

The bad news is.....if you have a router. Then there's NO CHANCE you can host. Only when you get rid of the router, you'll be able to host.

Sry man.

You're saying absolutely no chance...?

There has never been an instance where someone had a router and hosted a game in the history of SFO?

Because I always thought there was a slim to none chance that a comp with a router may host it just depended on a few factors.

I just got DSL provided by Sprint, it's connected to a router because I now own a laptop and desktop. First I couldn't host, I accepted it never took the time to play around with it, till yesterday, I can now host.

you have your theories wrong....if you have a software firewall you CAN host with no problems and you DON'T need to enable old connection mode...but if you have a Hardware firewall aka a router you CAN'T host...

about the whole sprint and router...um chances are you Modem is both being it has a built in PPoPE client in it making it so you don't have to create a manuel connection and once you turn your comp on your ONLINE already just like my modem

that is really not a router...the comp might say it detected a "router" when you hooked it up but it's jsut really a modem with some function like a router to allow you to be connected 24/7 with the SAME ip until you reset or kill the power to the modem.

I have a D link wireless and DSL and everytime i turn off my pc, my ip resets. Isn't there a way to disable the hardware firewall and allow street fighter to pass through my pc? Example, opening all ports making it exposed to the internet. (I tired that but still couldnt host)

you can open any ports you wish and do port forwarding but it'll never work...

as far as your router not being able to maintain it's IP. chances are you have it set to reset the IP after a certain timeout setting like 15 mins of inactivity or so.

You don't need to host to win but it's certainly an advantage if you can.
