Tell me why i cant host!
i have a actiontec modem dsl usb connection....................and its driving me crazy to the piont im screwing my dsl and going onto one of those aol cds u get in the mail..Is it soooooooooooo wrong for me to host????????? Give me a break ive gone to extremes to do it i aint no comp expert i did it bcuz i want to flipin host for once! :suspect:

Dont u think i diserve to host after all ive been through just trying to do it?(spyware,terminated internet connection,adaware,dum popups,almost got hijacked)[/color:post_uid13]

well most member said they can't join a game or host maybe you are having that problem. are maybe you have a router stoping you from hosting

one question could you host any way?
because not most people in sfo can host a game

well i couldnt host at first either, this is what i did *cough* go to ur control panal, then click network and internet connections, then click internet options, click da tab on top that says privacy, then lower the bar to medium, if that doesnt work i cant help u no more. :D

if youhave a firewall u cant host like me i used to be able to host until i turned on my mcaffe firewall protection and it keeps people from connecting to ur comp therefore stopping u from hosting or atleast thats what ive deduced

you do know norton is one of those firewalls that lets you host even with a router...
....

No no.. there's a difference between the Norton Firewall.. and the Norton Antivirus software.. right?? :biggrin:

And for whatever the case maybe.. it's never wise to "delete" Norton.. and any antivirus software from your computer.

if the norton is a firewall, go to ur options on firewall and put in the port number in it..

yea, there is a norton firewall and a norton antvirus...
i think there are other norton products such things like expense tracker or something but that doesnt concern about this...

-router is the thing that lets people have like 4 computers connected to one connection.. that small thingie.... you can tell if you have a router or not by looking through your eyes

i dont know aobut 2k5 model but i have 2k4 or somethin i forgot...
your antivirus should be this old pc model with a emergency sign on bottom left
and your firewall's icon should be a globe. if you dont have a globe, u dont have norton firewall

u have a firewall that needs to be disabled.. after tha firewall is disabled u can h0st all u want. Note: after u are done playin make sure u ENABLE ur firewall b-coz we got tons of hackerz in tha world..

i remember i had da same p[roblem that u had but then i played with my control panel and it was loading and it took off my firewall, ill try to look how i did it and i will post it when i find it, cuz if i help u, and it works, this method should be passed around to all the other members that cant host,


well lets try again go to ur control panel, go to internet connections thingy again, click network connections, then click on local area connection, then click properties, go to da tab that says advance and then unclick da box to take out ur firewall and now try to host :D i hope it works

Well this worked for me make your own connection by going to your control panel-->setup/change your internet options-->and create your connection without the use of the firewall just disabl;e it from the get go and U should be safe
