Where in the god damn did all the pop ups come from?
I am getting about 6 differnt pop ups from the main site it totally ruined my game I was playing and getting al these pop ups and I lost cause my game kept turning into and in active window now WTF I thought there werent ever gunna be banners or pop ups and here they are I almost had a stroke here In my chair thats how mad I was I gave myself a damn headache...
I know
it came from the main page I didnt have any other windows open just thought I would come back and make sure you knew that

dude... u gots .dll's on u'r hard drive that are making all those adds come otta nowhere (u know XvsSF... there never were any ads, and there never will be any ads)

go to http://www.lavasoft.de ... get Ad-Aware ... let it scan u'r hard disk.. and all the ads will be gone :biggrin:

Trend Micro Enterprizes (http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/enterprise.htm)

It's a web site that allows you to download a java applet that administers a "house call" to your computer and scans for any and all known virus's.
You may then either delete or attempt to repair damaged or infected files.

Trend Micro tracks virus's on a global scale and reports and post valuble info about these destructive programs. And offers great advise on how the virus's work, how they effect your system, and how to rid your self of them manualy. (if you dont trust the "House Call" applet to do so for you.)

Although this has nothing to do with your pop up problem...it is still a cool link to check out.

Oh yeah....get Ad Aware...it's great. :D

Yo T, tell me if I did this right or not..

I went so Scan Now,
then it found 276 components,
I hit continue,
then it showed me the 276 components,
I checked out about 250 outta those,
then I hit Exclude...
And then Continue, which took me to the main menu screen.

Did I do it right?
And out of those 250 I excluded, could ANY of them be important? or are they all waste?
( Most were named other, so I couldn't tell.. )

Well, just asking, did I make any mistake?

Because I STILL HAVE THESE STUPID HANGOVER n CAMERA Pop-ups, which are like permanently in my system, they come everytime I open IE!

hate popups, and/or popup killers that use stupid "blacklists"?
best popup killer ever:
Click for Freesurfer (http://www.emsproject.com/FS)
hit download, then click on the http://www.kolumbus.fi/eero.muhonen//FS/dwnload.gif next to the top entry under "Free Surfer related downloads"

IMPORTANT NOTE:
after you install it, go to the Tools menu, and open "options". Check the boxes next to:
"load program automatically at startup"
"dont show flash screen"
"enable image animations"
"enable flash animations"

hit apply, then hit close.

Next, open the page projectx.cyberfuturism.com, and open up the Freesurfer (just click the blue box with the x in it right next to the clock in the bottom corner of your screen). Highlight "projectx.cyberfuturism.com" under the open windows list. Click "add to rules", check "allow popups", and hit add.
Open the game up, and do the same thing but for the game window, and then do it for the forum.

ive been using ad aware for like 5 months already and its working fine.. and yeah it DELETES all the spyware on ur computers. like gator..

and if ppl dont kno wut spyware is :

"ppl can see wut u have in ur comp" ..

well thats wut my friend told me..

Asshole: Yes you did it right...and NO none of those files are important....I delete all of them everytime...i got no problems.
The program is just scanning for "spy ware" and notifies you of them.
You have an option to "Select All"...( right click any file )
then delete 'em. ( that should save ya some clicking )

It is a good idea to take their walk through.

Run the program 2 times...then reboot your computer.
Run the program again.

"Some" spyware is "sticky" and replicates it's self.
IF the Ad Aware program finds more files after you reboot.
Scrutinize the files...figure out their origin and what they are refering to.
You'll have to manualy find and remove the "mother file"
THAT can be a pain in the ass....I have had to do it before...with NO instructions!

So MAKE SURE you "have a clue" whatcha doing. :D

Right now im currently using Earthlink's pop-up killer.
I love it. If any of you guys have earthlink
as your internet provider then your in luck.
Just install it off your your Earthlink cd and your
done. It blocks almost all of my pop-ups.

No, I don't want a Popup Kilelr that runs while my IE's running...

I want something that'll scan thru my comp and delete the permanent popups I have..

But I'm gonna try what Nosoul4evr suggested, let's see the outcome..

Asshole: I "breezed" over your post.....I need to make an ammendment to my previous post.

Run the Ad Aware program.
Right click any file, "check all".
Then click the "CONTINUE" button.
It will ask if you want to delete the selected files.
Select YES.

Dont click the "exclude" button....use that button only for the files you want left on your computer.

Lordgrobyc': :D Just because you arent "seeing" the pop ups...does not mean they arent still dumping crap into your computer....I noticed you say, "It blocks almost all of my pop-ups."..meaning "some" get through.
