View Full Version : Timer for variable too long! - It lasts 7.5 sec., when it should be 5!

Kinda self-explantory. But I'll explain it anyway. Look at the timer. I'm doing a special and yet the timer hasn't ran out. The timer for variables is too long. It's suppose to be 5, except it's 7.5 sec. After the timer runs out, it leaves you 2.5 secs more to do another special.

In your case you should be happy lol...but if you against someone and the variable lasts too long then its a problem.

well if a variable is used against me but doesnt actually get me the game some how manages to give the other player the win and yes i think that variable should be shortened as should the supers in general.

1 variable can easily kill you if you accidently don't block. And it's SUPPOSE to be 5 sec., and thats how it should be.

lol, well i have found out that in school in compaq the variable is longer then at my HOUSE!. i can do 3 special while in my computer at home i can only do 2.... weird... cause in school the variable slow, while at my house its quick...

I can do 4 specials with ryu....sent etc

with double spidey i can get in 5....which means 10 specials.


but still leave it, its fine the way it is on a laggy pc...you wont get many in.

Well.. it's been programmed that way.. I say leave it.
Cause as you can see Jerry.. the amount of supers a user is able to perform all depends on the performance of his PC.. We don't want users with PCs not as good as urs to suffer now do we?? :biggrin:

You may not know.. in 5 seconds.. not everyone can pull of 2 supers.. which if I might add should be a considered minimum for an effective variable attack. :biggrin: (btw 2.. meaning 4 in total.)

So the additional 2.5 seconds.. should just be a lag/PC performance consideration that I think should be allowed in the game. :biggrin:

i am with blanka09 because it really depends on the pc cause 1 of my friends time goes down real quick..and mine works perfect and doesnt go down like his ...

Whether or not you have a good PC it only takes 2 specials (from both characters) to kill you. Well if your opponet manages to do 4 on you (8 in total), a HUGE chunk of your life will be gone EVEN if you block. 7.5 sec. is too much time. I don't exactly like being killed in one variable. :angry:

well..somtimes i do a variable and i hit the the person and he didnt die cause of lagg somtimes its lagg also..leave it the way it is i say

i think all supers should be adjusted...well if youdont know what i mean il tell ya think about it if any ofuplayed xmvsf or anyother arcade version of these sort of games when a super hits it doesnt him constatly like in this game hence that sort of machin gun sound, well almost lol but in the actual 1 the victim of the super bounces backwards every big surge of energy in the super il make a video or sumin to show you what i mean

any1 know how i can put up a video up in the forum?

i think all supers should be adjusted...well if youdont know what i mean il tell ya think about it if any ofuplayed xmvsf or anyother arcade version of these sort of games when a super hits it doesnt him constatly like in this game hence that sort of machin gun sound, well almost lol but in the actual 1 the victim of the super bounces backwards every big surge of energy in the super il make a video or sumin to show you what i mean

They seem long on yours because your a total lagger with a bad fps.Thats why like chunils ball is so short on mine.


And that machine gun sound is because of lag..

omg only reason i lag to u is coz ur so damn slow if i had a comp fast as yours then u really would some push over..not much difference to ow it is now :D

Lag does not cause the machine gun sound from Supers. It's just set that way. =/

heres a good idea, i'm surprised nobody has said it yet.

if you dont like the variables then dont play tag mode.

and btw, who are you too say that the variables should be 5 seconds? i know that it might be how long they are in other games but dont forget. this isn't like the other games. tmy created this game as he wanted it to be.

so during the creation of tag mode he will have decided that 7.5 seconds is a reasonable amount of time for the variable as it will allow even a slow fighter to use at least 2 supers before the time runs out.

if there was only 5 seconds then some people might only manage to pull off 1 super in which case they might as well have used a combination instead and saved the extra bar.
