View Full Version : ENERGY BAR LAG RUINS MY LIFE

The tournament is getting nearer, and I'm in deep sh*t!
When I fight someone, their energy bars don't reduce when I hit them, except every once in a while. BUT when they attack me, my energy always depletes. Result: I either lose when my energy's finally gone, or I lose when the time ends and the opponent has more energy. The game runs fine otherwise, sometimes there's lag, but it doesn't really affect gameplay. So.. Howcome it doesn't register MY hits but registers the other players' hits?

This is really a BIG problem, I can't usually even beat complete newbies! I've sometimes hit them with 20-30 supers in one round and they just won't die. I've tried all the different network settings but they do not seem to affect this. I have a cable modem.

Is this related to the rumor that there's some maximum damage after which the game won't register any more hits? I almost always attack straightaway and keep hitting, and when I do this the bar's definitely not gonna deplete untill maybe much later in the game, and very slowly.

TMyApp, plz do something about this and QUICK! Check your damage detection and energy update routines, there's gotta be a bug there somewhere, because the game, animations and controls work nicely, but the damage's not registering properly!

This has been discussed already... it is from lag, and lag can't be fixed right now. You just have to live with it. Cable users (like myself) usually get the worst of it.

Just to make things easier, here's how it goes...

You hit your enemy with a Shinkuu Hadouken on your screen, and it is not blocked. You see no damage to his/her health bar. That is because (lag's fault) you didn't hit them from the other computer's point of view. There is no way to fix it right now.

"maybe they dodge it".. yeah right. The thing is, they DON'T dodge them, they get hit, they fly up in the air, they don't teleport or anything as is the case with high lag. And this is not just the Shinku Hadokens, it's with EVERY move, no matter how many kicks and punches I use.

Dan Hibiki, so you're saying 90% of the match just happens differently with each computer? Almost all my moves just SEEM to connect? Even when the ping's just 200?

There's gotta be more to this.. the problem wasn't nearly this bad with the earliest versions of the game.

Maybe I should record a sample round?

Hey how do you record a sample round????
What a recommendations to lower lag if possible????

Do you, perchance, have cable? Cable users always have lag problems, regardless of the other person's ping. I just deal with it.

Anyways, record the round, then. It could help TMyApp come to a solution faster.

true true....the lag wasnt bad at all, maybe some teleportation but this new version is slow mo. even on turbo.. i think it has something to do with too many ppl playing the game..(bandwidth) it will get better every month i think lol..
