I played the Game Cube today - ladies and gentlemen I will tell you a tale about the great

First I dressed up, went on the bus, and just stayed there, next to me was a guy listening to rap( I couldn't stand it). But then we dropped off at the mall of america, I went straight to the Nintendo Game cube place, and there was a line( It wasn't open yet) When it opened, many people stormed in. I got to see many games, like Pikmin, NBA courtside 2002, NFL Madden 200#(don't know number), star wars rouge squadron, super monkey ball, luigi's mansion, and Super smash bros. mellee.


The first and best of the whole game cube games I played there was super smash bros. Melee, it was so awesome, 4-player brawls, it was like people bashing eachother to a pulp, and it was reated "T" which doesn't really matter for me, at first I kept losing(about 5 matches), then I got the hang of it, and won at least 20 out of 24 matches I played, I played as Mario, his tornado is deadly, and the items like the hammer, poke balls( yes poke balls), mines, lasers, guns, star power,and so on. I played for like 5 hours on there. Then I went for a break to eat some chinese food.


After that, I came back, and started to play other games, I played Pikmin, but I sucked so bad on it, so I played another game, super monkey ball, I raced with some others, I always finished 4th out of 4th, or 3rd out of 4th.


Then the game shut down, and it was time to leave. I had to wait 30 freakin minutes for the bus to come, by me was a bunch of people, it seemed like they would pull a gun one me, one of them pointed at me for some reason. the bus comes, I was pissed for waiting so long. Then I get off my stop, and here I am. On the computer.

I got a disk from Nintendo about 'da cube, and honestly, I wasn't very impressed with what I saw. I say stay with the PS2, Nintendo doesn't beat them out graphic wise at all, and this systems looks like just a enhanced N64....

I said I saw previews, Nintendo sent me a CD with movies of the games, not to much to look forward to, well yeah some, but don't get to excited, just like the N644 a few good games but not much else to keep you playing for years the the Playstation has done and will probably do again.

playstation 2 from a graphics standpoint, isn't even in the same league as the cube, or xbox for that matter...
read ANY column about the systems and you will pick that up rather quickly

as for games...
you will NEVER see mario, zelda, perfect dark...etc on the playstation 2...those games are system sellers...name one game outside of FF that would be considered just that...and dont bother naming games without a history cause those arent system sellers :biggrin:

and as far as final fantasy goes...anyone whos been listening knows ff11 is coming out for MULTIPLE platforms...right now they have only announced a ps2 and pc version, but as soon as nintendo and microsoft make serious anouncements about their online support you can bet square will follow suit with an announcement..

the PS2 is still going to get alot of games, and its still going to be #1 for a while....but trust me, what happened to nintendo with the 64 is about to happen to ps2...it has major flaw...it came out too soon, and now its an underpowered machine compared to the gc and xbox.

the 64 got screwed cause it used catridges, and the ps2 is going to suffer from being a weaker system...already reviewers and industry ppl are telling you that..

a perfect example is batman vengence...its coming out for the ps2, and gc...and the gc version is way better...its running at 60 pfs, whereas the ps2 version is not..ppl are saying to wait 2 weeks and buy the gc version..

the list goes on...
but one thing is for sure..ps2 is going to lack those killer looking games that x-box and gc will have :biggrin:

what you see is what the developer decides to make...
the redone RE for gc has more realistic looking graphics than anything PS2 has got, and PS2 has crash which is cartoony..

well ive already gotten a PS2 and if i had a choice between xbox and gamecube i would have to go with xbox grahics wise but yet with gamecube with such a low price i might have to go with that. So my answer is im sticken with my PS2. Besides most of us arent rich with money. I have to quit buying comic books because of the prices on PS2 games which cost almost 50$!!The only way I can get them cheaper is by going to Funcoland and buyin a already used one.

As with I'm staying with the PS2. As I saw before, Playstaion (first one) came out a good long time ago (when SNES was still alive) and it crushed the Saturn, and stayed alive throught all of N64's and still stayed alive all through the DreamCast's life. Sony has showed us how it can live and I'm going to rely on them, and what I know.

btw I favor no systems, I've owned every system since the NES, and when N64 was out I knew it had a major weakness in being cartridge...infact I had more playstation games then N64 games...

I just state facts, thats all...overall playstation was a better system then the N64, and overall the cube WILL be a better system than PS2..period!

I dont work for nintendo, nor do I want to try and convince anyone to buy a cube...buy and play what you want...

and as far as the x-box being a more powerful system in terms of graphics, I got news for you ppl, cube and x-box are virtually indentical...dont listen to what dumbasses reporters tell you..I got one word for you, CELERON...thats the "powerful" 700 mhz chip going into that system...if u know cpus, then you know thats no more powerfull then the ati chip in the cube..

Those 2 systems (x-box and cube) will battle it out to see who has the prettier games..as for PS2, they will still sell like mad, and they will still be #1...but that doesn't make it the better system :biggrin:

I own a PS2, and Ive played every good game you can ask me about...so dont ask have you played such, and such..no? :biggrin:

plus most of the games Ive played are geared to adults (max payne, deus ex) etc...but no game, has the kind of graphic realism that that RE clip is showing...everyone Ive show it to, has gone nuts..

I hate to keep driving this home...but dont defend the ps2 like this...even the producers of the games are saying the cube is a better system..

that doesn't mean you made a bad decision when you bought the PS2, at the time their wasn't a machine what could touch it...but with the X-box and cube coming out it wont be the big bad graphic powerhouse it was anymore.

I have one question to ask u though...what does a cartoonie looking game have to do with how good it is, or the system its on?

if you really believe the two go together, then I know youve missed out on some of the best games EVER made

I played a shitload of extra money for a dvd player compatitble system which i didn't want, or need..

I was totally pissed at nintendo, when they went with cartridges, just like im pissed at ps2 now...they got to the top, and all of a sudden they think they can do things any way they want.

as far as ps and n64...I have ff8, and are you kiding me?
those graphics are clunckier than a mofo...I didn't even use the ps to play that game..or final fantasy 9 for that matter...i used ePSXe, so I could play it in nice 3d rendered glory.

the ps could never touch the N64 in terms of graphics...then again, who cares...they had 500 meg cds, which could fit ff (#### nintendo and their cartridges!)

the ps2 is no different...its underpowered compared to x-box or cube..with one difference...this time nintendo didn't fuck up and do something stupid to kill their system...

mark my words...ffXI will appear on the cube, and when that happens sony will lose its ace...

sony should have bought more than the 25 percent stake in square that they did, because they owe their systems to that company! :biggrin:
