HUGE PROBLEMS, game wont even go into practice! - ...

ok, my first problem is when the opening movie starts. when the demo of the characters fighting is supposed to start, it just shows a freeze frame until i hit a button. and then when i try to practice it says "sync lost" but Im not even playing with anyone. HELP
