I love Street Fighter, and a while back it used to work fine without freezing, ( I was playing online ), but now I play online and it freezes, I thought that if I downloaded it, it wouldn't freeze, so i did and i was able to play the game, but it still froze on me ever 30 seconds. I have a windows xp, 256 MB of RAM, a pentium 4, cpu 1500 mhz and want to play this game allot cause it was fun when it didnt freeze, anyone got any tips or suggestions? Please!

If you game freezes using the web-version of the game, try cleaning ur cache:

1: going to "tools" and "internet options" at the top
2: click on "delete files"
3: restart your computer

Ifur using the d/l version of the game, try checking that ur files are ALL together and that they are in one folder

Try Shockwave 8.5.. you can download that from http://www.streetfighteronline.com/download.htm

If that doesn't work, try downloading Shockwave 8.5 and then Shockwave 10 on top of it.. you can get that from http://www.download.com/3001-2378_4-10279961.html

so.. um... does your game still freezes with the d/l version of the game? Does it freezes during the game? If it freezes during the game, please let us know what character it freezes on (ie: when you select Ryu)

Go to your SFO folder that you should have created and see what files you got, you should have:

sfo12d.exe
cWolverine.cct
cChunLi.cct
cCyclops.cct
cHSentinel.cct
cMusicb.cct
cOnslaught.cct
cRyu.cct
cSounds.cct
cBack2b.cct
cSpiderman.cct
cHelpers.cct
cAkuma.cct
cKen2.cct
cBison.cct

Most of the time when your game freezes on a character, you may be missing a file for that character that your game frozed on. Maybe the videos below can help you out.

http://www.maximumspider.com/help2.avi (D/L MOVIE 2)

Having codec problems?? go to the link below.

http://www.divx.com/divx/download/

It's kind of outdated.. so don't get freaked out when you see sfo11c.exe

It doesn't freeze, it just goes in extremly slow motion when in the fighting scene, where you have to fight, I've only fought with ryu, againts that girl. It used to work before....

What do you mean normal mode? How do I say this, it goes extremly slow during gameplay, when you are susposed to fight somebody. My whole computer goes really slow when fighting.

Thanks for the help but its not usefull, :( , I tried everything and I don't know why my game is slow, it is not "lag" due to the fact I am not on the internet playing, but my comp is going really slow when I run this game. Can anyone help me?

Man, I think its sad that I can't play this game, and no one can help me, what are the system requirments? Are they above 256 MB Ram, 57.6 Connection, 1500 MHZ, 1.50 GHZ, and if I am above these then why does my computer operate so slowly while playing this game? Also 1 more thing, I am not playing on full screen, I have sound off, and backgrounds off and same result.

Well.. you can try playing the web version. Anyways, here is more information on this "computer running slow" thing

1: turn off programs you don't need while fighting (ie: AIM, MSN)
2: turn off sound, music, and select no background (you can do that by going to "Options" and then click on the "other" tab to turn on "no background" and for music/sound select "sound" )
3: use the d/l version of the game or make sure screen small when using the web-version
4: be the host
5: start fighting in servers with the less people are in
6: close out some .exe files using the Task manager (you shouldn't do this if you don't know your files on your computer because you might just exit something out that doesn't/shouldn't be exited out)
7: disk defragmenting your files

go to ur internet options and click temorary files, A new window will open, where it says: "check for newer versions of stored pages?" That should be set to "Automatically" or "Never".
If it is set to "Automatically" and your browser still makes you download the game every time you try to play SFO, then change the setting to "Never".
At the bottom of the same window you'll see a slider for the "Amount of disk space to use?" Make sure that is set to 100mb+ through 200mb+
Click "OK" and you'r done.

1: go to "tools" and "internet options" (once again)
2: in there, u'll see a "settings..." button.. press it...
3: at the top, where it says: "check for newer versions of stored pages"... that should be set to "Automatically" or "Never"... if it is set to "Automatically" and the browser still makes you re-download the game every time, set it to "Never"
4: at the bottom of the same window you'll see a slider for: "amount of disk space to use"... make sure that is set to 100mb+ ... if 100mb doesn't seem to help the problem, set it to 200mb+
5: hit "ok"... and u'r done

Thanks for the help but... I talked with a computer technician and they say that either to reformatt my hardrive or to increase ram. I am going to reformatt my hardrive and if that doesn't work, I will unwillingly buy more ram, but I see no point since it worked before, but if it works then good! 1 more thing, thanks for the help and if this doesnt work I'm in deep poop!

Minimize screen.

Make sure you've cleaned out your cache...

Perphaps you have low FPS.

Use 100+mp...or 200

don't have other windows running while on SFO..

Don't be on aim..or msn during sfo..you will lagg your own game.. :whatsthat:
