Ok. Think for a second. How would you play a nonline computer game on a console? There's no cartridge or disk to it. Now, what I think about that is either A. A typeo, or B. You can use the Dreamcast controller somehow to play. How you would do that is beyond me.

:unclesam: Master, that thing's outdated. Geez, it's 4 X men v.s Sf, isn't it? Any way. Da Dreamcast probably can...... Somehow. :suspect:

i think it would be way to complicated to play on a dream cast/ hook it up/ tmy to code it =/
plus, why would you? dreamcast is like 5 years old =/
(which is still pretty good, but i think there is more demand for like ps2, or xbox)

yep, it can be done ...
dreamcast + linux = SFO on dreamcast
Dreamcast Can browse the internet, That is how Phantasy Star Online was played. So it is possible by typing in sfo's url you may be able to play on the dreamcast.

Simple...
there are browsers who can support FLASH and Shockwaves !
unfortunetly this versio nof the dreamcast browsers are too dam nold and none have continued updating them, thus its now impossible to play, as for the controller problem, well no you can't play with a controller, unless like tmyapp said you modify the game itself to play which is impossible since none other then tmyapp has the source code of it.
so how could you play ?
well the dreamcast had a keyboard which could be bought, thus you could play with it !
now its pretty much impossible, having a dreamcast myself i tryed all the normal ways without using linux and believe me, its impossible to play the game
thus the forum and web site does works well tho !

how fast would it run?
if youdid update it's coding to include dreamcast again,
becuase i would mind having to use linux to run it, and i would move rather perfer a keyboard than those controllers with only 4 face buttons.

Karma: Can you post some pics of SFO on DC? I've wanted to try it, but when I got a DC (about 7 months after XvS first came), I forgot about playing XvSF on a DC.

Sorry TarkanX, i don't have any web cams or numeric materic to do it.
the worst part is, it did work back in 2001, very slowly and very buggy, but it did work, but as the game kept going, the DC itself stopped following, thus when we reached SHOCKWAVE 7.0 the game started to go even more impossibly !
now werre on 8.5 and things starts, but they seem not to be going further then the loading ! probably because the game itself is now too big to be played entirely in the memory of the DC.
CONCLUSION, it loads, but stops after a while !
its too bad cause i was glad to try it back then, wonder what it does now a day, i'll try and pick up my mothers cam and try it int he next few days, how about that ?

err... XvsSF was done on Shockwave 8.0 (ie: 7.0 was never used  )
but, i really dont' see much of a point of running SFO on a Dreamcast... as said.. it will never be as fast as a computer, and the bugs that it will have... i can't even imagine

well i thought i could find it a cheap alternative to my slow computor, but i guess i'll just stop being cheap and go buy a decent $500
