Woord! Power to the ppl.. I hate it when ppl blame lag for their losses..

There was this time I was playing on a t3 connection.. in the library.. and this guy tells me I lag. I just laughed at his ignorance.. but I agree with MSI. It's very dumb atimes when you attribute your loss to lag.

lol you did lag...at least to him. :D

Never forget lag is a matter of ones own perspective and that lag is a 2 sided coin.
His perspective..you lagged.
Your perspective..he lagged.
The real perspective..you both lagged.

Just because you are fast does not mean that you dont lag.
Because of the way the game engine works, any PC will dump/ignore/not send packets in an attempt to keep both players games 'some what' equal, regaurdless of your PC/ISP...and alot of times the numbers between the 2 players just dont jive...wich can cause frame dumps...other wiseseen and known as 'lag'.

Also if any server between 2 players slows down/goes down, then new routes of communication are required and sought out...this also creates lag

So whats that mean?
you both lag, no matter what your connection speed or PC.

Whos to say it wasnt a T1 server getting over taxed and slowing down/going down, and not the dial-up?

Fast does not mean 'correct'.

An equal exchange of packets shared between the host and guest is 'correct'.

Can you lose because of lag..yes.
Can you win because of lag ..yes.
How, why?
Simple, there was not an equal or porportionate amount of data being sent/recieved, and exchanged freely between the 2 PC because of the servers between them. This literaly can create a 'one sided' fight.

It's not an excuse..it could be true. If your computer is lagging which keeps you from actually landing a hit on the opponent because the game is moving too slow for you..you could end up losing...Well I just dont see it as an excuse..

However NoSou4Evr.. does that mean he should go off on me.. saying I lagged.. and I cheated.

True it seems to be both ways.. and after a lesson or 2 about the way the game engine works, I've been really confused.. for if the game engine stores the packets of data and then release or pour out at times that would be convinient for both users.. then why the heck was asrbwettaw's game unreasonably fast? It was mad.. Immediately after one shinkuu hadouken, the other one pops up right behind.

Anyway, I'm not here to debate on that.. the fact is, using lag as an excuse.. if both parties are in fact to blame for the presence of lag just means one is a sore looser. Nothing more nothing less

but what I do know is that in a game like this.. faster isn't always better

nah... no one realy has a right to claim one player lags or does not lag over another.
Unless one player is specificly attempting to create and use cheap lag tactics.

You the players do not control the hops your PC's make to connect to your opponent...nor do you have much control of what packets of data or frames that are dumped, nor are you responsible for the preformance of the servers your routed through.
...you guys just supply the IP addy's and play to win. the servers between you do all the routing and are respossible for your signal.

The real ones "lagging" are the people with the servers your being routed through....wich you have little to no control over.

And of course those people with slow/inferior PC's will lag...and that is something that only a new PC or an upgrade can fix.
Wich requires money..wich alot of people dont have enough of inorder to buy a 1 gig operating speed or faster.

for some reason it didnt show my post.....the rest of it was that some people cant afford cable or the area they live in doesnt offer it...so does that mean they shouldny be able to play the game?

lag on the computer is everywhere you cannot i repeat you cannot escape it i think even when you go to a website it lags a bit because its connecting to it however there are ways to lower the lag such as no sound, T1(optional) dsl etc.. (optional), no background, and no other programs that aren't being used at the moment such as aim, msn, yahoo etc.. or websites you just happen to have on cause you were browsing the internet, someone can only really say you cheated if you Intentially used lag tactics to create it like that thus is cheating but i doubt anyone would really go to those extreme meausures just for some silly wins on a game i mean dont you think its stupid? EXACTLY so saying someone lags or cheated is kind of point less so i'll re-say

Lag is everywhere (int) and cheated if you have proof if you dont well to bad for you..

I know one way to stop lag alittle. Go to lag composition and click on low lag. Watch thats faster. Or go to click on slow connection for high lag. All of that is when you are at options network. Its says it up top.
