Shockwave player 10 - Compatible with download version?

well i jus downloaded shockwave player 10 and i opened the download version, an error pops up saying their r files missing for your shockwave player would u like to retrieve them, i press yes bla bla bla thats no help, so i try the web version and that works perfectly. Anyone having the same problem???
is thier another file im supposed to download??? any help will be appreciated.

I have version 10 of shockwave, and it works fine when using the downladable version for me.

Make sure [b:post_uid14][u:post_uid14]ALL[/b:post_uid14][/u:post_uid14] of the files are in the same folder.

even though Shockwave shall installed by itself when u play SFO! but, if it doesnt and you're still having problems,downloading it again shall solve the problems with Shockwave Errors

It's the same thing with me. It gives me the error message. If you look in the Macromedia Shockwave Log file, you see that there is some sort of .CHX or something like that file missing.(Atleast in my log file) What I did was, I found the OLD shockwave installer on one of my folders, and I installed the old shockwave(8). I have no idea where to find the old shockwave though.

its because the shockwave player 10 doesnt read sfo the players that do are 8 and maybe 7 so enyone who has

i had the same problem with my main development system... solution? just hit "cancel" when it asks u to fix the errors... also, if the game just comes up with a black screen, delete "Control.dll" in the game dir... and that should get things going again...

side note, on my other test system, which went from "nothing" to Shockwave 10, there were no problems...

my best guess is that there is a problem updating from 8.x to 10...

... no issues with the web version though...

why taking the chances of playing with the shockwave player, when you can just use the flash one which is the same except there is no real soft, its just the dll's to make it work !

in any case, i never updated my flash players... except when shockwave itself was telling me to. and i never had any problems with it !

have u tried shockwave player 8.5.1??? bcz version 10 gave me quite a few errors, but as soon as i installed version 8 evrything worked fine. ill try and get the link for that version for u ( i lost it lol).....but hopefully i can find the person who gave me the link in the first place.

neo open interent exploer than click tools than internet options, click on delete files and clear history, after u have done this redownload the files for sfo on the same folder, and try it out.

and btw lol i wouldnt go challenging hollis

so let me get this right......

1.u downloaded shockwave player 8.5.1 or 10
2.u cleared your cache
3.u downloaded the game wid all the other files in the "same" directory
4.u downloaded the missing dll. file onto the "same" directory wid all the other files


well if youtried all of these options and the game still doesnt work for u......than u r trully f****d, so i propose that u forget about the download version and stick to the web version, which can be found on streetfighteronline.com, but instead of pressing download press mirror one....if it still does not work for u i suggest u find a dark room and stay there for a very long time.
