The World Warrior Tournament Update - Match ups

These are the first round matchups for The World Warrior Tournament. They have been randomnly selected... and from here each match you fight would determine your next opponent... which of course is predetermined by whether or not you're the victor or looser :biggrin:

Just as it was stated in the rules of the tournament, the first round entails of three matches.. in which the first player.. player A would host the first and player B hosts the 2nd game.. and then player A hosts the third game.. if there's any need for that :biggrin:

Please do not forget to go through the list... and make sure you follow each rule. Remember, you're allowed to use any.. and we repeat.. any character you see fit in the course of this tournament.

It's been stated that an official date would be posted soon. There's no point going into battles. And if you'll be wise enough to realize now that all fights that you've all had aren't gonna be counted :(

However, that is about to change. As of now, 08/18/2004 11.00 AM EST, the matches would begin. You have 1 - 4 days to look for ur opponent and fight him. You'll be recieving email reminders and such.

While I faced Blanka09 he gave me the runaround for an hour. I asked if Kinseb could observe the match and he abliged... then suddenly while fighting Blanka09's Ryu with my Akuma, I nailed half his health down at the beginning of the match with my air fireball special... THEN SUDDENLY SYNC LOST.

Then he picked Ryu.. and I made a drastic move and picked Sent.... suddenly the game couldn't load! And when I rehosted, he picked Spidey instead of Ryu. How ridiculous is that...

Then I picked Sent against his spidey and we double ko'd. Then the next round I won. I was so excited. Then... 3rd round... sync lost. My momentem crushed... Then we rehosted and I lost.

Everytime I had the upperhand in the match the sync would be lost. This is so gay. I should've knowblanka09 would pull every dirty move out of the book to try and win. Took us an hour all together to complete our match do to him. Kid was putting me to sleep.

I am not asking for a retake, hell no. I'm just trying to put the word out that this guy, Blanka09, is hosting a tournament that he will do everything not to lose. I guess it was random that he got the first match and third match host too. ;)

I personally think if their is a sync lost the opponent should get the win, but the thing is the opponent can say u synced out cos when they disconnect from the internet the same sign comes up about the sync being lost, so therefore they can take a screenshot of that, so its a no win situation, this regularly happens in clan battles. but their are genuine cases where they lost sync not in PURPOSE, u can tell its not in purpose due to the health difference (i.e both yours and your opponents health are similar).

That's something I'm not sure we'll be able to do at this point in time... why?? Cause we have about 11 hours and 53 minutes before the next round begins. It'll be virtually impossible to pair you up with some annonymous user waiting for his/her opponent.. cause it'll take more time and make the tournament drag.

Just don't worry about it... we're sure that the next round would pull in more fighters.. and more show ups. The whole adrenaline and what not that caused the no shows to register would have faded.. and it's those who seek battle that would go through. :biggrin:

TarkanX.. now you see why I say this is not going to be as successful as any of Zing79's TOC tournaments? Sorry to say man but damn I just wish their something that can be done to actually get 100 members to actually fight.

You can't get 100 fighters to all fight, people just plain forget about the tournament after signing up. And people who visit the website on weekly basis do who up but there aren't much of them. There are probably 65 people in the forum who actually care about the success of a tournament or a neven, not many more than that. I would just like to point out that if I want 100 fighters to fight in the tournament I will have to make sure the prize is something really nice. Eg-Money-Merchandis etc.

I think Tidus has given you a proper answer there.. it's virtually impossible to get a hundred people to fight especially in the forum like this.. where we have absolutely no control over what these ppl do.. or how often they come to play the game. Things like these are inevitable.. and it's just not possible to get every single soul to fight in the game.. even if we wait for a hundred days.

And Tidus2k2.. trust me.. a lot of prizes were considered.. even way more than you can imagine.. but we didn't want to get into the personal lives of these ppl.. I don't know why I'm explaining this here.. but I feel you all need to know the pros and cons we face when hosting a tournament of this magnitude.

As far as SFO levels go, the prizes we have put fought counter the price of hosting this tournament... and believe me when I say, they're worth it. Only one winner would recieve a golden ryu and some other things. As far as Street Fighter Online goes, that's a big achievement... so there :biggrin:

This statement seems more like a judgement and how do you go about this conclusion? The reason why there aren't any big and successful tournaments is because the lack of organization, commitment and moderator/Administrator help.

This is hard to do, and what do you mean by "best rank"? I'm assuming you mean the top scores and if you do, those top scores aren't as "clean" as 3 years ago. When Zing organized his tournament (TOC1), he had the wolver
