My second banner i ever made - One with bison

eep tell me wut u think, i dunt wanna hear bitching, jus tell me way to improve... me jus a banner n00b i got full version of photoshop 6.0... its still good, almost exact as 7.0 or CS. but anyways here it is...

btw also rate my current siggy banner, all the banners i made took me no more then 10 mins... and tell me if youget bored of the font, i personally fell in love with it but i can change it.

damnit, seems to me like the bison one got sum crap around the pics, like lil leftovers... i did that in 6.0 but the ken one i did in CS... mayb thats y i dunt hav crap around it. hmmm.

Have one kind of style, not all mixed in one..

Like don't try to mix uP wind and water together..

lol i dunt even know wut wind and water is... idk my style yet, i like the faded big pic, then the medium pic, and a small pic type. btw i jus made an onslaught too, check it.

Dude, seriously let me give you some tips. You need to stop putting alot of pictures. If you want to try and make a good background let me give you a fast tutorial.

1. Open whateva size document you want make sure its transparent.
2. Press D to get your default black and white colors.
3. Take out your gradient tool and put the blending mode on difference.
4. Start playing around with your gradient tool untill you get something like this.

5. Take out your dodge tool and select the Star shaped brush. Change the pixel to something less than 19. Start playing with the stars tool on your background untill you get something like this.

6. Get your gradient tool once again and this time change the foreground and background color. Put the blending mode on Overlay and use the gradient once on your bg. Should look like this. (option: add an image on the bg and change the blending mode to overlay or anything that might look nice, merge the layer with crtl+e)

7. Add some scan lines. Easily just make a new document 1 x 2 pixels. fill the first pixel with black and the second one with white. Goto edit> define patern. Press ok. then goto your bg and and make a new layer.. press edit> fill > pattern> choose the 1 x 2 patern > and fill. put the mode on overlay and change the opacity then merge the layers by pressing crtl+e and it should look like this..

8. Add a one pixel border around your image with a color that matches around your background. In this case I chose brown.

9. Add techy one pixel lines around your image and shapes with low opacity color in the shapes like this.

10. Add some text. i DIDNT ADD ANY CHARACTERS ON THIS BANNER buT WHATEVA. =) FIGHTERSGENERATION IS DOWN ON ME.

And that is it. Simplest way to make a kinda nice looking bg. This is good enough for a begginer like yourself. And myself as well. I am a begginer as well.

thx dkid, thats the most ensightive tutorial ive seen with pics and stuff, made for me, :3 aww. here wut i learnd... but idk how to make my fonts so cool, i got like crap fonts, and idk how i can jus select a part of my pick and change its opacity without chaning the rest. also when i use gradiant, when i slide my mouse to make a style, i cant make another slide cuz then it alters the one before... when i picked red and yellow and i kept going with my mouse, the more i did, the more the red dissappeard and the yellow showed... but ehres my result.

kewl, i still kinda like my crappy banners, like the pics and how i put them and stuff... to me it looks nice, but others can see like the small detailed stuff so i guess i hav 2 work on that. after i master making banners well i wanna start making animated banners

ty underlaie. y dunt u guys like more then 1 pic. most of yall make it with 1 pic like theyr lonely loners or sumthin... i jus visualize it in my head and try to put it on comp... i thought id look nice like that cuz it has his diff side and all and with the multiple chars... its like theyr at war u know versing each other...

I know, they look like lonely loners.
but its less messy and more easyer you make.
Only use more then 1 picture when your truly ready for sure.

Hack, at my second tag i used all the streetfighter characters and it turned pooh, if you know what i'm getting to.
Soon, you'll learn more about making tags.

Right now, your progressing.
Takes time but its kinda worth it. but just don't over do it.( wasting all your time on the computer and instead you can play outside and having fun in real life)

ok ok i made this banner, i used 2 characters of bison, i know its not 1 but its not 3 either... tell me wut u think and how i should make it better, as you can see only 1 part is scanned heh i tried diff stuff...
