dont use those types of borders....they look pretty gay...try more with with the ryu....and background..

I dont like large boarder's like that,It ruins the whole banner. If you see it get's in the way of the backdrop alittle. And the Background and the char do not even blend in so ill give it a.

what i say iS:
try to make a more complex background and color. dont use just straight blue, use like blue green, or yellow green, yellow highlights and blue low lights, ect.
dont use sprites if your BG isnt really detailed and brushy looking.
