Why is th eforum boring lately ?

well, i was wondering cause lately it seemed like nothing happens, people just wait for updates and they talk like thrash in RI which was never even meant for that. you know guys, i liked the time where games poped up and times where RPG were going on, anyone remember the good old MOOGLE thread ? it was an awesome thing it moved a lot ofus. same hapenned with RPG's like SolidSnake Metal Gear !

so i wonder why is everyone, (and i know lots of kids are there) are acting stupider then they use to be ?
won't name names and i ask of you all who wish to participate int his to not name any either.

i just wonder why there are people who changed in a worst way then ever ?
i think the cause of this problem is the people not the emotions or topics you create.
i just think people think RANDOM INSANITY = acting stupid... while it actually isn't !
i mean even general comment and startegy isn't the same, lots of things there shouldn't even be there !

to be honest i think the only section which didn't fall in that stupidity phase is NEW FEATURES which even if the new features are stupid, they do are on topic which all the other are off topics...

anyway i just wonder why this community has changed so much... even old members changed to the worst of what they were ! and i think that is killing the community !

I rarely even post in the RI section for obvious reasons. Though I do remember good topics in the general section back then you and I use to have alot of interesting debates on marve| and Capcom characters. The only sections in this forum that appeal to me is the "Unknown Section" -vips know what Im talking about, graphics section and new features because I like reading about the updates and progress of SFO flash online game. Though anyways not saying the other sections are pointless. Just saying that its a waste of my time to read them.. Anyhow I'll try to make some threads in the general section once again my topics usually are interesting and not boring.. since Im not a boring ass person.

the names i am speaking about are mostly those from 2001 and 2002, i am not very aware of the recent people except perhaps those who do post and i must say that lots of them just can't post right, but as some understood, its to us to show how its done...

no what i was wondering was about those people, those friends i use to know... but those people got lives, they live it, i can't blame it, but when they comes back... they have changed, they aren't the same... want names, razz is one of them... he used to rock the place, as weird as it is he created the insanity and was a very talented user at it ! but ever since he left, i saw him changed... he just isn't the same as he used to be !

Halo II has simply nothing to do with it, its been like this for almost a year now, that's why a few of the mods already asked TMyApp to completely shut down RI since it had no more purpose. but other mods fought for it to stay there and it did, now what i wonder is why have we fought for if all that is in RI is all retarded topics ?

i mean come on, it is a place for insanity and random comments but in no way must you act all stupid in it cause there is a limit between STUPIDITY and INSANITY, i know its a small limit, yet it is there. but most of you just go too far and cross that line.

as for the changes in others, i know changes is good, but what's the point of changing who you are in the first place ?

i know this forum isn't as exciting as the game itself, but this is still a fun place to be, so why making it that bad ?

let me tell you a small story about myself...
it starts in a time where almost every topic i was reading thru... a time where i could easily pass around an hour just to read all of them not even answering for i needed more then an hour to do so ! this era is gone, its again that time of the year where people don't post much and that brings my reading time to around 15 minutes ! that's a big difference if you ask me !

but again i told myself that it would pass, hell i been saying this to myself for the last 6 months and the forum still hasn't come back in track.

thus my story ends in a dull and pathetic way because in the last 6 months, fun is what i lacked when coming here !

i just hope this thread will make some of you realised the truth and try to make this place a better world, for i alone is not capable of it !

its like you having a peice of paper witht he rules on it, one of them being "no strings". we find a string that entertains us for hours, and two months after we found it, after spending hours and hours looking at the string, you come in and say "NO STRINGS!" and take away our string :(

There is more need Zpower. This forum not only allows you to talk about SFO but it also gives you the opportunity of meeting new people that are interested in the same things you are. I think TMyApp made the right decision keeping RI open.

as for the mods, well if you become a mod int he game you become one int he forum !
first thing you should be aware of, is that the first priority of these mods, me included, is to moderator the CHAT ROOMS not the forum. but the persons all taken into accounts are all old players who barely ever plays the game. when TMYAPP decided to had NWO'S that was for the game not for the forum, and chosed players who actually played the game lots, but you can't missed to notice that those players PLAY THE GAME injstead of MODERATING it as they were suppose to !

thus you get these problems, BG doesn't cause it doesn't have any GAMES to MODERATE as well thus the why there is this much mods around here !

if you don't like it, we're not holding you back, just go on and stop posting, no one will care if you do !

I didn't read your post, Penzel, simply because I got through the first two and a half pages and couldn't stand another post from Karma. I want to first insert a thought. Next up on my list of things to say is: VF is right. The moderators here (Aside from a select few. I can honestly only name three.) are way, way, WAY too strict, and the way BG is set up allows for much more freedom of expression and even a better support-system of being yourself... something that is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to do here. Now, to name the three moderators I have absolutely no problems with are The Shiz, DM, and Warmor. I wanted to say that so there isn't some big secret.

I want to take this time now to go ahead and counter Karma's future statement about "NO ! ONE ! IS ! KEEPING ! YOU ! HERE, ! GO ! AWAY !!!" How? I refer to the fact that I've already left this community, and the ONLY reason I EVER visit is if a friend needs my help. I reside at BG, and that brings me to my next point.

BG is in NO WAY - shape, form, or fashion - a rip-off of PX. How? Everything about how it is set-up shows the difference. As does the moderation and administration and the overall focus of the forum. I think I read somewhere how you're against clans, but to be honest... clans have always been a good thing for SFO. They keep things more competitive and fun.

BG tends to embrace the "Freedom of Speech" amendment, but here, and I mean no offense to any of the mods/admins by this, if you fart and don't say "safety," you get a huge swift kick in the jewels in the form of a ban, or some other sort of punishment (negative post count, etc). And the bad language filter? Once again, no offense, but godforbid one of these 12+ year-olds sees a curse word on an online forum that they surely hear at least five times a day in their own home or infinitely more in their school cafeteria (or school in general).

And Karma, I'm going to have to disagree with you when you say that BG is just a PX ripoff. Very strongly, I might add. I'm going to have to disagree with you to the point that I can't even express so, due to language filter and the fact that I don't feel like getting banned again so soon.

Calling BG a PX ripoff is the SAME as calling Senshukentaikai a PX ripoff. And I know you don't have the audacity to say that. BG was originally created to try and replace Senshukentaikai, created as a home for the clans, which were never embraced by PX and therefore didn't have a place after Senshuk went down. Just because BG was and is more popular than PX as far as the more intelligible members is no reason to call it a ripoff. for all i know, anything that refers to SFO is a rip off of the original site, and SENSHUK doesn't bypass that law, i always considered it a RIP OFF !

Just because a forum has a topic in common with another doesn't make the newer forum a ripoff of the older one.

For example, all BG and PX have in common are the members, and that they have to do with XMvsSF. BG has no General Comments and Strategies, no bugs and Problem reports, no new features, nothing about OFFICIAL challenges and tournaments. By the same token, PX has no sections pertaining to specific strategies, nor does PX have any sections pertaining to clan forums and clan challenges/tournaments. Therefore, how is one a ripoff of the other, when it doesn't even have the general categories in common with each other? The only thing they TRULY have in common are the members. The XMvsSF game is only a very small subsection of the BG community.

Calling BG or Senshuk a PX ripoff is like calling every DBZ site/forum that was made after the FIRST DBZ site/forum ever created an entire series of ripoffs. Catch my drift? Your logic is rather...irrational.

And BG has the dumbest members? First off, the SFPOA was a joke. I had vets in the SFPOA, as jokes. YOU were in the SFPOA. TMyApp was in the SFPOA. Get my point?

Second off, at least when the OLD BG was around (i havn't really tried this with the ####G), we were actually able to hold an intelligible debate. I tried participating in debate threads here not too long ago....pertaining to the war, religion, and science....and they were all filled with spam after page 2. And the one or two people that actually TRIED to debate continually refused to acknowledge my points and, in an abridged version of their entire argument, were saying things along the lines of "lol im not a monky ur a monky ur gonna go to hell boi god's gonna kill u." Hell, check out the Street Fighter vs Dragon Ball thread by TarkanX, and then take note of how many people actually debated, and how many people were just like "lol goku can destroz da universe the sf doods cant even go super sayin."

One of the main reasons we can't hold many debates like you said or the reason some Mods are so strict is due to the rate of members join this community. People are drawn here because of the game. Then they see the forum button and come here. There are tons of members joining everyday. There are over 12,000 members on this forum. Granted, thats over a 3 year span, and not all of them post, but to get my point across, there are a lot of members who do post, and new ones, and you can't really control the rate at which the simpleton's grow. Thus, astute are easily overrun by dim whitted posts. I've never been to BG, so I don't know how it's run, but I'm sure the population is smaller and easier to control, unlike here, so that is why some people enjoy BG so much, for the intelligent topics they can maintain. Even so, I've noticed this, and I'm hard at work to make this forum a better, fun place to be. I've got a load of ideas, I'm just waiting for the other Mods here to either approve them or dissapprove them. Then, I'll start taking action.

I have to agree pretty much whole-heartedly.

In regards to PX in general, it is rather discouraging, because such an influx of immature members causes the strict disciplinary actions (which you stated) is what kind of makes it.....rather prosaic. Not saying it's necessarily a problem caused by moderation, which I may have alluded to earlier, but it all stems from the influx of new forumers.

When this place is busy and exciting, that's when the mods have a job to do and that's when people get banned every two seconds.... which sucks.

When the forum is slow and nothing is popping up, that's when the mods have nothing to do... nothing to lock, no one to ban... and thats when a mod makes a topic like this because his job is no longer worthwhile and he has no power to use... and abuse.

Yeah these 'Boring Times'. Its actually quite funny how many people agree that this place has become boring..yet not one have tried to fix the problem by making topics people will enjoy, or meaningful threads that dont complain about all the n00b's, and topics that wont end in spamming and flaming.

but instead people make their very own topic with their thoughts on the 'Boring Times' subject..which basically consists of the same exact statements said over and over. Then you have those who all they do is bring up the past, and rant on about how great everyone was back then, and how great the topics were and they talk about how much they loved and lusted for the past and blah blah blah. Well we cant live in the past forever, sure maybe to you the past was a great time for this place..but you cant bring it back. So now instead of whining that this place is no fun, try and change it then instead of waiting for someone else to do it. Because this place will not be the same as it once was if nobody tries.

Alot of your topics are mainly those RPG topics..and if you havent noticed, some people arent really into that stuff, so that's why those topics dont really succeed. It's not because people dont want to post at all.
So your saying that this "Game Show Trivia" topic is only sucessful because you've done it in the past? Well Cap'n Grammar that hardly proves anything. I truly think that the Trivia topic is somewhat sucessful because its a fun game that challenges you to think and use your knowledge on gaming history...not because it was around in '02-'03.

nothing is permanent in this world except change...

-vets grow up and mature and find other hobbies they could spend time with
-most new members are minors, either they post nonsense topics or they ask the same old boring question about the game OVER AND OVER AGAIN
-strict rules diminished interests
-good/intelligent people left for good
-no post count in RI
-internet is a big world to explore, SFO shares only a little percent of excitement ppl seek
-ppl act as if theyre vet and smart that they flame new members asking for help thus intimidating them/discourage them to come back
-no really good topic to read
