I have a geforce 2 mx 400 64MB, and I want to upgrade the drivers. I know where to download them from but how do I install them after downloading?

If anyone can tell me the EXACT steps I need to follow to install them successfully, I would really be gratefull. (I have never updated my video card drivers, and I don't want to screw up is why I am asking.)

If it is any help, I have windows ME

i'm surorised that no one has answered that question !

then i'm gonna do it.

1 - download the drivers from the web site
2 - double-click the EXE
- if ok, the system will install it by itself !
3 - if not, go into your MY COMPUTER icon right-click it then go on property then in your peripheral and in your VIDEO CARD
4 - then property on it, click on the TAB named DRIVERS, then click on the UPDATE DRIVER button
5 - find your files then open it !

i am not english so my system is in french so i don't really know the name for things but it should clear you up to find it yourself ! :D

at least i made an answer to that question ! :p

Nice Idea and answer SSjkarma.Man I have been playing wit my cpu for 3 dayz just seeing how it works. No much to do after that at least I can say that now I know where what goes and why it does.If you play with your cpu as long as its not a virus or something harsh you will survive and learn something.I also did a pinch of reading some old behind outdated books.I like some of the stuff I was able to check and see was running properly man.Just press update its pretty simple too manage.Just pay attention too what was what thats all and you can fix anything you see faulty. :D

When I ran the exe, it started an install wizard, and I followed all the instructions. But when I look at the drivers on my card, it says that they haven't changed. (Still says version 4.13, I downloaded and from what the wizard told me, successfully installed the version 29.42 drivers.)

Hmm, I can't understand what I could have done wrong, I followed all the instructions, but I still seem to have the old drivers on my card. ???

2 things can have happenned !

1 - you don't have the right drivers !

SOLUTION: try and find the EXACT CARD you have and find the EXACT driver

2 - you already have the latest drivers !

SOLUTION: don't do a thing, you already have the latest !

it's that, or it is due to your CARD itself !

is it NVIDIA who made the card ?
if so then the DETONATORS should do the trick !
if it's not NVIDIA then you got a real problem on your hand !

I think I know the problem, it couldn't install the drivers, because it already had drivers installed for the card. I read in the users guide that you had to uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones. That could explain why the version on the drivers didn't change.

EDIT: YES! They are installed, I deleated the old drivers and installed the new ones, I just had to look closer at the file version to see the change.
