Consols batttle it out! - I'm sure i spelt that wrong?

:) I say Xbox is the most powerful and most enjoyable consol out... Great graphics great games. and its has 4 controlor ports instead of just 2 like PS2.

PS2 by far. All the X-Box has is good gfx....that's about it. The console itself is too frigging bulky (doesn't even fit into my fairly new entertainment center), the controller is almost as big as my nuts (half the frigging thing is covered with a giant, useless green X, just in case you forget what system you're playing, and the buttons are too spread apart) , and most of the games are crap ('cept Splinter Cell. Halo is overrated.) All it has is superior graphics.

PS2, however, is a much better overall system. Anyone who has ever played PS1 will be familiar with the controller shape and style, which is small, yet not too small. The buttons are perfectly positioned on the controller, and there is no added/extra space. The system itself is nice and small, and can either go vertical or horizontal, fitting most entertainment centers. Though the gfx aren't quite as good as X-Box, PS2 has overall MUCH better games than Xbox has. PS2 has by far the best games--RPGs especially--and this is proven by the fact that the combined sales from GTA3 and Vice City surpass the combined sales of ALL X-Box games, combined (I'm pretty sure).

Gamecube is also fairly decent, but still nowhere near PS2 or Xbox. The controller style flat-out blows, and most of the games (as well as the graphics) suck major ass (especially that new Zelda game....I'm a huge Zelda fan, but "Windwaker" left a bad taste in my mouth), with the exception of Metrod Prime.

Dreamcast always sucked...and it always will suck...

N64 was prolly the best during its time...it had a shiatload of awesome games...same goes for PS1

xbox is gaining in the games dept.. Just downloaded the japanese release of Soul Calibur II and it kicks ass. Halo os not over rated ... mostly good for multiplayer fun, as in 4 xbox's with 16 people going at it.

I will say adding a modchip to it multiplies the xbox's worth tenfold. How's 3000+ nes games 2000+ snes a dozen gameboy and 4000+ mame roms sound? Oh and 62 full xbox games loaded onto the hard drive. No discs needed. :)

Wow...however, that doesn't solve the problem that X-Box is too bulky for most standard ES's, that the controller is like twice the size that it SHOULD be, and that the games aren't nearly as good as PS2. Being able to fit the games onto the hard drive of the XBox is a sweet deal indeed, but it doesn't improve the playability of the games.

And Halo sucks, any way you look at it. The multiplayer ability doesn't make up for its horrible control and gameplay.

thing i really don't like is the fact that xbox has no free on-line gaming. wut was it.... like $50 friggin dollars a MONTH?? that's rediculous, i would never pay that much per month. a year maybe (wut am i saying... HELL YEA i pay that much for a year) but a month?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

and i know what your going to say, "yea but you have to buy the modem for the PS2" and all i can say is big woop. its better to buy a $40 dollar modem for free access than $50 a month.

Xbox has what is probably the greatest(besides PC) online system ever. Broad Band only, which means no annoying 56k vs broad band matches, you get the head set, which I don't care about, and It's set up, so that the lag would be non-existant. great planning Gates!

The games maybe poor, there are a few games that are okay for it though. Overall, I currently like X-box as the best between the 3(Game Cube coming a close 2nd).

and the only rpoblem is that with no 56K modems, alot of ppl won't have live support. alot of places don't support broadband believe it or not

Then people will learn to advance. Once people see that they are behing in the industry, then they'll try to keep up. There are many broad band users, and 56k and below users are flocking to broad band. By 2006, there will hardly be any 56k users.

Well obviously its a battle between the PS2 and the Xbox, I thought it would be as both of them leave the other competitors far behind (What was nintendo thinking? :( ).

Halo has to be one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time and the Xbox is bulky because of the hard drive, the motherboard, the graphics chipset, the DVD rom, the massive power box and all the other features in the little gameing goodness.

But the main reason I stand by it is because it has 4 game pad ports! not 2, obviously the PS2 was not made for multipayer, were microsoft was looking to the future on the horizon.

GAMECUBE is alone in its own very unique CATEGORY so leave it out of the way !

DREAMCAST... by HARDWARE MEANS, if i remember right, the only thing that PS2 has that DC don't is that damn DVD player !
so DC doesn't sucks, but people were saying the same thing you are for the XBOX !
NOT MUCH GAMES ! (helllo, the console just camed out, normal that games weren't good)

i'll say yes !
PS2 doesn't have that much good games, all of them are now redone in XBOX which easily bring those games to the other level !

XBOX has the speed which some PS2 games lacked !
example: slowdowns in some games !
XBOX: has something called a GeForce 4 Ti in there for graphics, and what does PS2 have ? a simple GeForce2 if i'm right !
so yeah, xbox as way better graphics !
live support... SONY had so many troubles keeping their words... let me recall, they delayed for a whole year the ONLINE KIT ! which XBOX had very soon !

seriously, if you give time to the XBOX, eventually it will beat the PS2 in games, because GAMES on BETTER HARDWARE will always be better and better by the versions !

how many times did it taked to the other consoles in our history to actually reach their potential !
really... they took over 3 years to actually comes close to that 75% of completely use of hardware !
even MGS2 didn't even used 50% of the actual console !

something else, the joystick is too big, go by the damn JAP one !
its like 2x smaller then the original gamepad !
and you don't like XBOX controllers, then go buy the PS2-XBOX converter which able you to plug PS2 controller into your XBOX !

that has been existing ever since DC you know !
really, XBOX will eventually beat the PS2... just give it time !
PS2 was out a year and half before the other 2 systems, its just normal that PS2 has lots more games then the others !

one last thing...
why buying MEMORY CARDS in the XBOX when it gots about 8.4 Gb of HD to do that kind of thing !
see, XBOX even support HD saving which means no need to buy a 24$ mem card !
as for the DVD player which need a remote control addon... well i have in my mind a thought that really should learned by others...

CONSOLE = PLAYING
CONSOLE != HOME THEATERS !

so yeah, i guess the addon is justifyed !

EDIT:
i really was disappopinted too when i saw WIND MAKER !
but i would only buy the game if i had to, because i love BLOODY ROARS PRIMAL FURY and because WINDMAKER comes with the OCARINA OF TIME : HIDDEN QUESTS !

really a big disappointment in the zelda series, they really shouldn't have made it like it was an ANIME ! it really isn't zelda like we used to see !
