Gen's moves - Defeating akuma

OK.. this is for all ye Street fighter alpha 3 masters.

*cougH* Ok.. here we go.. Y'all know of the assasin Gen, who's looking for a death match.. Well I've been engraved in the world of shotokan Myself... so I was a little num when it came to some other characters... :biggrin:
Recently I just found out about Gen.. He really has some nice moves and although He's not into rushing combos like Ken or Akuma, He's combos aren't bad at all... :biggrin:
But the reason I made this topic was b'cos of this move...
I want to understand.. What exactly is he doing...
I mean... well just check it out... :biggrin:

This is the move he performs on Akuma.. (..as expected Akuma had done the raging demon )

Now check out

Now notice a number on Akuma.. as it reduces, so does his life.. I mean he's ok and looks like nothing's going on with him, but his life amount reduces..

After a while Akuma.. just goes dazed.. I mean he simply colapses and birds start flying round..

On other unfortunate occasions, Akuma infact dies..

So I wanna know.. what exactly is Gen doing to Akuma?
Note: He can do this to all characters. :biggrin:

don't really know...
i only know his LIGHTNING punches, the one super where he rushes thru akuma and like 2 seconds after akuma receive the hits ! other then that i don't know !

Well it's simple,(He's my all time favorite)

I'm a gen master you see Gen has two fighting styles.
That one you preformed is a hand pressure point special which is in his more hand movement style.

It's impressive it doesn't cause instant death,but to be stunned once the count down is finished....

Gen is an professional fighter with unflawed skills he is highily over looked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like that move. That move he does will erm...Poison ur opponent and will do damage every second for 10 seconds unless ur hit. This will make ur enemy dizzy. I just do some moves in the air and wait till my level bar comes full again and do it again and keep blocking until the person dies.

He strikes a pressure point. The opponent is off-balance afterwards, and takes damage for a set amount of time. Hitting Gen lets the opponent regain balance.

Hard as anything to do, but it is possible to use the slight flinch each time the opponent takes damage while off-balance to keep combos going. Very hard to time, but looks neat when you do it. Start a combo, and towards the end of some hit stun, the flinch happens, and you could get an extra hit.

Aaaah.. but if Gen manages to evade or even block all the hits, then He remains in his.. well unbalanced form! :biggrin:

That's what killed Akuma in the last pic.. He was still able to attack gen with some hits of his own.. but because Gen blocked them, it reached zero, and he went to meet his maker! :biggrin:

Dang I didn't know Gen was so good. I just thought he was an slow old man. I should use him more often. And I think what Gen is doing is something like when someone hits you really hard but it doesn't hurt till the next day. Sort of like an annoying paper cut or that lady who got stabbed in the back but didn't know she did and went shopping with it in her back. I think it has something to do with nerves. And if someone hits ur pressure point i thought you would die instantly.

GEN is a cooln char but the fact about me not playing it more often then what i do is the fact that his moves are hard as hell to do, kinda like zangief except zangiefuses up arrows while gen doesn't !

i'm serious i tryed playing him a lot and trying to learn his moves but most of th etime i couldn'T even do anything with him !

that's mainly why he is over-looked like you said !

You're actually correct in a way..
I mean his moves aren't too easy to perform.. and most of all they haven't got range.. But thing is.. if you study them, they aren't too hard either! :biggrin:

*cougH*.. See thing is.. you just have to time your opponent, and excecute.. If he's playing defensively, you come in with his quick hand combos and when he falls into ur trap you use your hyper moves on him... :biggrin:

But the fact is.. I've never seen any character who's moves are as hard to perform as that of Zangief.. I mean 360 degrees and punch
Come now.. those are hard as hell..
I can't even remember a time when I pulled that one off.. :biggrin:

Once you master how to transform from his two fighting styles he is a perfectionist.

Best fight I ever fought my friend in SFA3 was Rolento vs. Gen Xism(The powerful one I think)

The power is unreal and the style is unownable...!!!!!!!!

Gen remains me of an anime called "FIST OF THE NORTH STAR"

Pure pressure point battles were more than your pride will be lost.....

(Dying in 10 sec.s....lol)

By the way... I don't really understand the A ISM version of that move.. You know.. level 1, 2 or 3.. The one you can see in this topic was done on level 3.. Meaning full strength was utilized.. :biggrin:
What if it was done on level 1 or 2.. What would happen?
Would the move take a longer time to stun the opponent or would it just take a lesser amount of life.. :biggrin:

Its the same, the only difference is that it will do less damage each hit.

You recieve the same stunning effect,but not that lessen life count down.... :biggrin:

It has to be one of the most annoying moves Gen has. The only thing i hate more then that move is Rose's soul illusion

It isn't that annoying.. It's a good move for those who like to sit in one place, block and counter.. :biggrin:
Gives them reason to jump out of hiding and when they come, it'll be your turn to counter! :biggrin:

never really played gen......... I'm way better with Dan then with gen(and I suck with Dan(well on SFA3) so U can imagine how I can suck with gen.........he'S a cool character though..........the one I think I'm the best with is Guy........

i like using gen. he can do some mean combos. but i still prefer ryu over him. and in sfa3 im a great charlie user also. my ryu and charlie have beaten many foes and have lost to many foes.
