That's true, but i just had a problem with sayin someone sucked when you've never heard their music before or even their name. Rock is fast-paced with interesting guitars (something that rap lacks) and keeps the music moving, for the most part, with little repetitiveness. Not all rock music is moshing, headbanging music, that would be punk and metal.

As far as the actual MUSIC aspect goes, w/o vocals, rock has far less repetitiveness and boredom than Rap music, rock is much more interesting, from an instrumental standpoint

Which brings me to my NEXT point. If rappers knew how to SING and not simply TALK, if they knew how to carry a tune, they wouldn't have to keep the beat boring and repetitive. At least Rock music singers are just that....singers.

And that's pretty much BS about needing the beat to stay the same so the rapper can be on point. Rockers can get their point across with a beat that changes up, and they have no trouble at all staying "on point." Go listen to ANY rock song. Try listening to some Green Day songs off their "Dookie" album, or ANY Metallica or Jimmy Hendrix song...you'll see what I mean. The beat constantly changes, yet the lyrics/point stays on point w/o any confusion (hell, what you said about rap being confusing if it wasn't boring and repetitive makes ME confused). If Rappers could sing, or had ANY vocal talant, they wouldn't need to keep the beat boring and repetitive.

You know why rappers don't do that, even if they knew how? Because if they added a CHANGING beat to their music, and learned how to sing to this changing beat and still keep their point, it wouldn't be rap...it would become Rock.

-Dancing? Rock music isn't MEANT to be danced to. If Rock was meant to be danced to and ppl don't dance to it, that's a different story. I see but rappers also bring in great R&B singers for a great song. like Nelly and Kelly who made a hit.

And like I said, that's only because they like doing songs with other rappers....because they make a song that some people think is great doesn't give them the edge over rockers.

Look at Bono from U2. He brought in MAD people, rockers and rappers and R&B alike to create that remake of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" for the WTC tribute.

Ok look at Eminem main thing he raps about are other muisc entertainers and his issues in life. And has anyone notice on the Eminem show the main thing he raps about is his duaghter and how much he loves her and cares for her. I mean look he had 2 songs in thier about her.

Yeah, and on the Marshall Mathers LP, he raps about brutally murdering his wife Kim, he has a skit about getting a blow job, he raps about killing people (the song "Kill You" mean anything?) and he raps about being under the influence of illegal drugs ("these drugs really got a hold of me" song).

Not all of them talk about banging chicks....maybe like 95% of them do however. And rock songs can't be about chicks and love? Van Halen's "Without You." Finch's "New Beginnings." All American Reject's "Swing Swing." The Used's "Buried Myself Alive." Or you can go listen to pretty much ANY song by U2.

Hrmm...

-Rock singers (cept for "nu metal" and "black metal" can actually carry a tune. They are just that....SINGERS. Rappers don't sing, they talk with next to no tune in their voice.

-Rock songs don't repeat the same beat over and over throughout the songs, they have constantly changing beats and instrumentals. You can press the "demo' button on an electronic keyboard and have a beat that sounds like a rap song....wow, that requires a lot of talant :p

-Speaking of instruments, rock music requires REAL instruments, which require REAL talant to play, such as bass, guitars, and drums...some songs even have some sort of piano, and even some sort of wind or flute-type of instruments. Rap has...a DJ Scratch/mix table and an electric keyboard.

-Rock songs have more messages other than "i have a lot of money, five cars, and I smoke weed all day and have sex with hot chicks." Many rock songs have actual MORALS, as opposed to rap BRAGGING. (granted, there are a few rap songs that talk about life in the ghetto, discrimination, etc, but for the most part it's all about girls/money/drugs/cars.

I've got other stuff too, but i'm too tired and it's too late to list the rest. However, it pretty much comes down to this:

Rock Music-people that SING and play INSTRUMENTS (both of which require talant) with a constantly changing, interesting beat and usually morally sound lyrics.

Rap Music-people that TALK with a boring, repetitive beat in the background with no instruments, and lyrics that talk about drugs/money/girls/cars/killing people.

Rap use all kinds of instrements and these little keyboards as you call them. Are very expensive studios that some rappers actully have in thier homes. We create things by taking a lil of this and that and even take songs from back in the days, the music mt parents listne to every time a song pops on they can name the band who originally made the song. We sometimes take songs from our own generation of black bands. And in rap you can here every kind of instruments(besides Guitars) Thier is Orchestra(Sisquo Thong song) nice paino solos (Nas I can) and bands(lil kim, Jump off) carzy other sounds that I doubt u can make. Some rappers use hot college bands in thier songs. And trust me they are not any boring beats. As for the singing well we have R&B singers for that thier are rappers who can bust a tune too joe. And the why I see it we can have total control over our songs since they have already been created and rec in the studios. As for Rock they have to play them loud and the instuments will be why loud as hell. And can barley hear what they are saying.

the drum beats are usually boring......here put it this way what would u rather listen to without lyrics
rap: repeating drum beat that may change 3-4 times in a song for a short amount of time
