ok it is possible that your pc is over clocked so it runs everything faster than it's supposed to
...
if you want to check the clocking of your pc...or know how to change it you'll have to get your info somewhere else...I have no answer

Okay.. here's the deal. Over clocking is a process whereby your PC... or betterstill your microprocessor runs at a speed that wasn't intended for it. but technically speaking, you're basically increasing the speed at with the chip in the computer runs. You overclock a chip by setting it at a higher bus speed, a higher multiplier, or both. Sometimes you need to set the chip to run at a higher voltage to accomplish this, further increasing the heat output of the chip... and in most cases, frying your motherboard.

This practice allows the PC to run faster.. but doesn't in basic sense hack into a games core program... such as SFO. Basically, hacking programmes like the one we've come to encounter (not mentioning names.. :biggrin: ) tweak the speed of the programmes that are being run. It's software based so to say... and only affects things that you're running at that point in time.

Over clocking involves running your whole PC at a faster clock speed.. and not just tweaking the speed of programmes or applications that are being run by your computer at that point in time.

So in conclusion, overclockers aren't gonna be affected by the whole "THOU SHALT NOT CHEAT" wave going on in SFO... so that's not a major concern :biggrin:

If you didn't notice, it's been moved to it's rightful place already. And I fink it's an important issue... so that future cheats who use hacking programmes would not use overclocking as an excuse when they're caught :biggrin:

if that's true then why did speedgear affect the game so much...I beleive that's how speedgear works...instead of you overclocking it yourself...the program does it for you

Yes yes... but I repeat... hacking programmes are not like overclocking. They are totally different... and don't worry, things like that won't affect SFO anymore.

We've put into place, "anti-hacking-codes" in the game that would make sure the game is safe and sane :biggrin:

Tmyapp is not stupid, hes actually a great programmer. You think he didnt already think of this idea? Over-clocking ONLY changes your CPU speed. Speed gear changes SOFTWARE speed... especially in games. Just because someone over-clocked their cpu doesnt mean they will get the cheat window. See Tymapp made the cheat window to work accordinally to CHEATS which was very smart of him to do. He pretty much knows which software can do what to his game AND how to stop it. Like he said if you get the cheat window DONT ask any questions.. the cheat window is ALWAYS right...

Even though it's not adviseable... don't let SFO ALONE be your hinderance from joining the vast majority of overclockers that exist :biggrin: ... Cause, frankly, SFO would run at a "normal" speed... ie, the capability of your CPU... and nothing more.

In any sense, cripwalker, you might want to forget about getting that programme if you're thinking of getting it for SFO. Apart from the ULTIMATE IP BANNING ofur life, other folks who used it said it some how afected their PC one way or the other... so it's best not to even try it, than to "test" it :biggrin:
