How do i turn off my firewall? - Help me!

I am sometimes on Windarossa's computer, and she has to enable "I am behind a firewall or proxy". I how do I turn off a firewall on a computer using Windows? Please people, I am computer illiterate...and need a step by step guide.

depends.

if you have macaffee (newest one) do the following.

1.right click the macaffee icon in the lower right corner of your screen.

2. go to personal firewall

3. then go to disable.

i havent tried to host after i disable it........tell me if it works

if she has a modem, go to network settings.
then right-click on the modem connection she is using.
after that click properties, click on the advanced tab.
now you have control over everything about her network connections, firewall, connection sharing etc.

well my grandma has one and usualy wat i do is goto the bottom of the screen in network and it is the las one...dont remeber wat it says...soemthing about old conection i think(if it says anything about lag its not that one) click it then turn offur firewall...walla..i can never host thought only through my computer
