Capcom all-star game... - They cancelled it !

as you people should already know...
CAPCOM was making their latest 3D fighting game called "CAPCOM FIGHTING ALL-STAR" !

the game was in 3D and by the WIPs CAPCOM was given, the game was pretty advanced.
great SMOOTH graphics, great choice of characters, including STRIDER, some of the game RIVAL SCHOOL, STREET FIGHTERS and FINAL FIGHTS !

it was developped for PS2 and ARCADES !
but guess what, after about 6 months of developpement... the CANNED it ! the game was cancelled ! i can't believe it. the game was actually looking very good !

why is there gonna be rivals... they have the same moves, same wrestling styles and are already great friends ! except that ZANGIEF still does wrestling while HAGGAR has became MAYOR of METRO CITY !

It's not being released for arcade, the arcade production of the game was cancelled, instead, it's being released for PS2, and maybe for other consoles as well.

TarkanX.... from what i readed, they aren't sure, they stopped the production but they still want it for arcade too !

its just that they will look before actually doing it.

the PS2 boead and the ARCADE that will be used are like almost identicals.
if changes aren't too big, after the PS2 version, they will release the ARCADE one too.
but for now, they decided to see how the PS2 version goes, then see if they can port it to arcade !

and SFEX series is not that bad, just missing some lighting effects, and some more SPRITES here and there. for the rest, it had SPEED/Gameplay and was SF till the end.

BTW: i have bought SF EX 2+ and i'm glad of it like itis now, sure it could have been graffically better, but except that, it rocked as much as other SF did !

just one question...
what makes you think 3D SF games are bad ?

You think I've never played 3D SF's? I've played mroe 3D SF's than you have, yes from my experience, 3D SF's are good, but the audience doesn't think so. When someone wants to play a 3D fighter, they want to play one that's actually a 3D fighter, not 3D fighters, and background, but you fight linear(2D). That's why Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Soul Calibur prevailed over 3d SF's.

By the way Karma, I doubt Capcom won't be making any arcades any time soon, how many people go the arcades? Die hard arcade fans(which is much less than how many games get sold), how many people go to the arcade to play fighting games? Die hard fighting game arcade fans, which is certainly not many.

If Capcom releases CFAS as an arcade port, they'll be lose lots of money. It takes 3,000-4,000 dollars to make an arcade cabinet. How many Cabinets do you think will be sold? At least 3,000 cabinets will be sold around the world

3,000 * 4,000 = 12,000,000

Now it usually takes 2 quarters to play on a machine.

How many peopel exactly come to the arcade every day to play a fighter? I'm talking about overall. About 15 tops counting all arcades in Minnesota, but what about the US? Cali, and NY are popular, they get accounted for about 50 plays for all arcades each on a regular day.

I don't feel like wasting my time, but if Capcom puts CFAS on the arcade market, they'll be risking their business, the arcades are on it's last beat, the main reason peopel go to arcades now is to play that DDR machine, shooters, and racers, they all suck.

disappointed, yes. surprised, no. Capcom just can't mobilize their fighting games anymore (the last thing worked on was MvsC2...for the arcade/dreamcast). honestly, i think the creators are sick of the genre and the characters, and just want to expand on other things.

In capcom all stars you can side step and fight in the enviornment. u can also knock people against walls.

ok, TarkanX... you want reasons why ARCADES are a lot better then CONSOLES ! i'll give you what makes the arcade a lot better then a console !

1 - always new competition. (IE you get to fight a lot more then your friends who goes at your home)
2 - you get to actually come out of the hole your in... that hole is called HOUSE !
3 - yes it costs you... but it is actually better to play on an arcade then playing on a console with a gamepad that doesn't even have the same feel or the same attributes of the actual arcade.

it seem that people voted differently then you are talking.
can't remember exactly when, can't even remember the exact results. but there is one thing that was sure in that poll they did in certain cities ! the result was completely different then anticipated ! arcades, are actually prefered a million times then the actual next gen consoles !

believe me, or not... i know it is true !
just in my city, when the only remaining ARCADE closed... me, my friends, my cousins, my brother... we were all very shocked ! how many of your friends actually prefer the arcades compare to the next gen consoles ?

i don't know about you... but arcades were and will always be prefered to next gen consoles ! unless those become VR !

and for what i know... GAMESPOT is still a good place to be sure it's true !
they say capcom hasn't abandonned the arcade market, i believe them !
can't say it more then this... internet sucks when it comes to FAST ACTION GAMES. too much lag, the kind of lag that we don't have in the arcades !

now think what you want, reply with what you want, but its a fact and it has been proved... too many people still considers the arcades better then any consoles !

i'm sporry for the 3D games thing... that part wasn't intended to you Tark, nor was it intended to be treated like i was yelling or something. i just asked the other guy who told 3D games sucked hard and he said all of CAPCOMs game were like that. i just wanted to know why he thinks 3D games actually are sucking ! which they clearly not.

DDR sucks compare to the game BUST A GROOVE 1 & 2
i mean, DDR is just lots of arrows that comes up and you have to click on them at the right time. while BAG 1 & 2 actually ask you to have rythmes... lke the songs in 4 beat, you must do the arrows before the fourth beat and then do the last arrow on the last beat !

i played a lot in my house with my friend, damn, he got better rythmes then i will ever have !

i hope this game will be onlie for the ps2 like capcom said they might do. cause then you can play against a lot of people and the game wont get boring for a while
