E3 2005: sony's press conference. - Ps3 revealed, new titles, etc. thread

This thread is to discuss Sony's press conference, which will happen at 3:00p.m. PST (6:00p.m. EST). In this press conference, they're supposed to announce the PS3, and showcase some of the games for it.

Feel free to discuss hype in here before the press conference. After I'm done watching the press conference on a site, I'll post a synopsis of what was said, and what's going on, here.

Keep flame wars against systems you dislike at a minimum, please.

lets expect faster online play, maybe a few less accessories we gotta buy, and tons of expected games, mainly MGS4 and GT5(GT5 goin ONLINE!!!!!!)

and with the cell chip and far better performance, x-box 360 can barely compare

So far from what we've seen I'm leaning towards the PS3. Games just look better than the Xbox 360, rather than FPS' and PC ports

Yeah the PS3 console's look isn't so great and the xbox360' is probably better looking but the specs of the PS3 are just amazing.

i think sony are going to sell more ps3 consoles in the UK simply because microsoft's price tag was far too large when they released xbox in the UK when it came out, they of course crunched some number and dropped the price down but by then sony had sold even more than microsoft were going to, hopefully they may have learnt their lesson this time around

Well the Unreal game in real time was awesome, the graphics were just superb.

Im sooo pumped about the ps3.......the only thing I have to complain about is the controller..............looks like crap, doesnt look nice to hold either...



oh yeah, and I didnt see any memory card holes.........does it have a harddrive?

Yep its got a slot for a hard drive. The controller kind of looks like a metallic hadoken if you think about it. And 7 controllers in a ps3 at one time? Now thats something although I doubt any 7 player games will be too appealing. I'm just glad the controller is wireless.

Anyway if you wanna see a specification comparism between the PS3 and the Xbox 360 here it is (http://hardware.gamespot.com/Story-ST-15015-1985-x-x-x). Looks like sony's on top, but only time will tell.
