...London.

After one long hard struggle with the other participants which included New York, Madrid and Paris the 2012 games will come to London. The 4th round saw London beating Paris to the finish line, 54 votes to 50 at the IOC meeting in Singapore.

The best thing about it is that the games will be pretty much around the corner from me.

Yeah I know, another thing to note is that a lot of refurbishment projects will start to happen in my area because of it.

after 9/11 weren't countries fighting to not get the olympics, or was that the world series?

Why should a major sporting event halt because of a terrorist attack that happened in another country? You can't stop everything in fear of terrorism.

Anyway the 7 year project is gonna be awesome as well as the improvemenets that are going to be made for transport.

gieandfer, this was the bid for the 2012 olympics... in which case almost everyone of us would be 7 years older when London hosts it

But what was really intriguing was the fact that at the G-8 Summit in Scotland, Jacques Chirac, the president of france said that the brits have the worse kind of food... second to only Finland. Of course he was joking... but somehow and somewayy, the british can laugh at his face for they won the bid and Paris (runner up) lost

pfft.. the first 2 dream teams and that was it. You would think the home of the NBA stars would always produce the number 1 team in Basketball.. but they didn't win the last time. Which is kinda very disappointing. Hopefully they do better. As for me, I watch the olympics for the track events

The legends of basketball will pick the 2008 players for basketball for team U.S.A so really we have nothing to worry about.

Ahh they had no chance, surprisingly even admitting it themselves.

Sebastian Coe, the guy who made it happen did his job really well because it was pretty much his work alone that made us win. I met him an all.

Damn did any of you guys here about all the explosions here? The whole underground has been stopped due to a power surge, claims of bus explosions and explosions in bins have also been made by eye witnesses. This looks worrying...

2010? Anyway I wonder if its a coincidence that these explosions in the underground and in buses all around the city happened the day after the olympic bid and also on the day of the G8 summit?

meh, we didnt have our best players.... everyone was scared cause of terrorists attacks...... no shaq, no kobe, no garnett, no t-mac, no jason kidd, no ben wallace, no jermaine oneal....all our good people didnt play in the oylmpics last year...... we had dumb young rookies....emeka okafor, lebron james, dwayne wade, carmelo anthony..... then we had allen iverson, tim duncan, lamar odom, and stephon marbury... but that starting line up sucked....

we also had amare stoudamire, richard jefferson, and shawn marion.....but this was a terrible team

lol... hes one of my favorite players right now..... but when he was in the olympics he was a rookie...his 1st season.... and wasnt as good as he was this season........ he couldnt shoot the jumper either.... he was dumb, turned the ball over, missed mad shots, poor defense, etc.

Basketball? Basketball?! Geez...

Anyway the good news is that the IOC aren't budging on the olympic games verdict but the bad news is that the explosions in London today are said to be terrorist attacks, 33 people are confirmed dead and counting.
