Your right, but not fully. Today most "gangs" are either wanna-be's or people who have nothing better to do with their lives. In my city, Philadelphia, instead of gangs there are groups of people who represent the street the stay around. One example is 1j6 which is 16th and Jackson streets. This isn't considered a gang because these corner crews are all over the city. When there is beef, they will fight each other and call up other corners for help etc..... It is kind of crazy, but you just got to watch yourself. I also find it sad that I always see somebody different get addicted to pills, weed, ecstacy, or alcohol. My corner is well known, but you will never hear about us getting in fights or starting trouble unless someone gets jumped for stupid poop, which annoys the hell out of me. The thing that bugs me the most is kids who go around jumping people and robbing kids. I've heard many stories about people on SFO who have gotten jumped. All this bullpoop is causing people to carry weapons on them to defend themselves. I was trained a boxer for 3 years so I don't have to worry about certain things that other people have to worry about. Anyway, to get back on topic, I am gonna see if I can fix my digital camera. Hopefully, I can get a pic on here in a couple weeks.

Shows how much skill and ability that one individual has. Not declining the role or the fear factor some of the gangs of nowadays have, but it's no more at the level where you can say oh goodness, he's from the black panthers he might beat us both. It's hard to determine the autheticity of most of the gangs. Hell, I could start rounding up names from the back of my head and not even knowing how strong the gangs I'm calling are.

The main reason why you'd fear gangs nowadays if the fact that they have quantity and not quality. You'd be scared that if you take out one of 'em, a thousand more would hunt you down.

Ironically, if youlook at it closely, those are one of the advantages of being in a gang. Not necessarily having backups... but having partners. So it's like you can't actually take me out cause I have my gang and they're gonna stand in for me (all 400 of them) if you try to do anything to me.

And as far as being lonely is concerned. I don't know... that's one of the reasons. A lotta people have their own specific reasons for being in gangs. A tendency to "want to" break laws. To have people to back u up so you can pick fights... or just like the fratternities in my school that basically look out for your well being.

but the main thing I know is that 70% of the time where you have gangs that include one or two lads shouting here and there that they start fights, then you know that most of them are just there cause of the strength in numbers.

Backup is the dumbest thing ever. I always tell my friends never to get in a situation that is none of there business, especially my situations. If someone or a group of people got a problem with me, then I am the one who is suppose to be aware and ready for it, not my friends. To bring your friends in the middle of situations just for you won't get beat up, shows how much you care about yourself than the rest.
