I'm an atheist (no religion) as for cultures I went threw allot. Well first of all I was born in Canada and moved to Houston. When I moved here things were totally different. I moved into this very "ghetto" type place (but not as bad) that's where i sort of went through this hip hop mixed with middle eastern culture type phase. I stayed there for a little while, until a few years after I moved. The district I moved to was very different. The last place I was at, even though there was allot of violence (probably more stuff which i was too young or stupid to realize), there was still diversity. Allot of people from allot of races got along, but this new place was very different! All the kids categorized you. I was graded on how smart I was, what race I was, how I acted, etc. Since I moved into this "plastic" school I got very lonely and started staying home. I wasn't accepted by allot of people but the few who liked me were mostly black, so I sort of started feeling most comfortable around african americans. This sort of led me to the "total hip hop" culture. Well any ways about one and a half years latter I don't know what happened to me but I became SMART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I probably went through puberty or something, but i started listening in class and people started asking ME FOR HELP!!!!!! THIS WAS SO AMAZING!! compared to how I was an year ago! well anyways since music was basically my only way to get away from problems I sort of left this attitude of "all rock sucks" and got into a little alternative and punk (but all mainstream). So I started getting into to allot of different types of music..... around summer ( i think) i got into allot of underground hip hop and started to hate conformity and this commercialism sexual shallow idiot capitalistic corporate #### which pathetic conformist think their so much better than me for being such fans of this idiot #### culture controlled by 50 year old rich men! This also probably had to do with me watching so many talk shows that showed me how pathetic and heartless some ####ing idiot people were! Oh and i hate talk shows now! There a bunch of hypocritical idiot #### created to entertain idiots that throw away every chance of have of being a human being! Well anyways somewhere around the school year I started listening to anti-flag which got me into politics and punk thus i was apart "punk culture". So that's basically how i got my political beliefs. I don't remember when i stopped believing in god... probably around the summer and the last school year up to this point (sorry don't want to reveal my age :D ). So I was into punk for a pretty long time (around an year maybe) until recently when I learned punk is almost worse than the conformist mainstream world i wanted to get away from in the first place. I don't feel like explain it all, but right now in my opinion the only thing good about punk is the politics. So than I got into folk and trance(trance again) and started exploring allot of other music that helps me getaway (which I'm still doing). Allot of other stuff happened which isn't that significant, private, or I'm to lazy to talk about. Well anyway right now I'm sort of turning into a fan of any type of animation. I'm also getting into samurai culture (sorry for the spelling). I'm not very athletic, but I really like their ideals. Well that's where I'm at right now. Sorry I made this SO long! I was pretty bored so i thought of posting on this....... didn't know it was going to end up so long :( . (sorry for my extremely horrible spelling and punctuation)

I'm not Jewish but I know a little about it.

Well, the Jews holy book is called the Torah. They dont believe that Jesus Christ has come yet. Were as the Christians do and are waiting for his second coming. The Jewish holy day is on Saturday not Sunday. I'll explain more later.

started by a guy named sadahta something i spelled it completely wrong.

there are a couple of diferent types of budhism, the one that i remember stuff about is zen budhism.

i think budhism in general is all about taking the middle path, budhist "worship" the budha, i use the term worship very losely because they just use the budha as a role model he is not a god or anyhting like that. Middle path basically works like this, you shouldn't focus on one end of any spectrum wheather its food money or emotions.

in budhism you get reincarnated untill you reach enlightenment, after that you go with the budha in, #### i can't remember the word, more or less you go to heaven, if you don't get enlightened then you get reincarnated. The budha is able to reincarnate himself at will he is supposed to help us reach enlightenment thats all i can remember right now.

BTW im a christian

i cant' remember the example fully but there is this question about reality that budhist think about it kind of goes something like this.

They'll ask a question

For example
what is a chair?

and then they break the chair up into different components like the chair's leg, or the arm of the chair, if you take apart the chair is it still a chair. The whole point of this exercise is to figure out abosolute truths, i guess what they are trying to prove is that the chair in whatever form is pointless and therefore you should not worry about it. You can also do the same thing with the human body. For example if you rip your arm off is it still your arm so on and so on. This is probably one of the more fascinating religions to me.

At my high school there is a whole course that is dedicated to teaching about other religions, we learned about budhism, judaism, muslim religion, hinduism and did a little bit on catholocism. He also went on a work shop field trip where people from these religions talked to us about thier religion, they didn't try to convert us or anything which was good, we were allowed to ask them questions about their religion, we even got to eat religious foods, that was my favorite part of the day :D

Another interesting thing about religion is that a lot of them have things in common, for example in hinduism a while back there was this system called the caste system, basically its a ranking system, the higher up you were in the system meant that you were a better/ more divine person and the gods favoured you more. We see this type of thing in calvinism aswell (Its a branch of catholocism) in calvinism the whole idea is that God will bless those who are good, so the better person you are the wealthier you will be and so .... basically the interestng thing is that these two types of beliefs happened centuries apart, and also some people consider calvinism to be a very very early stage of capitalism.

So as you can see even if you don't believe in any religion it has affected your life either way.

I had a class sort of like that. It was called exploring history, it was pretty cool. We learned how civilization started and how it progressed through time. It was really fun... we got to read the oldest book ever discovered (epic of gilgamesh). I remember having a small discussion with my teacher, before going home, about judaism, christianity, and islam, but we didn't get to far. well anyways that class sounds pretty cool hope i get to take something like it :) .
