TMY app I did as you told me to do re-install my IE.I did it but still the shockwave player dones'nt work. Can you please tell me another solution which can work:D
Dude! I hear your plight, computers can be downright stupid sometimes. I've just downloaded the shockwave player myself, and it all went hunky dory... which is ancient lobonese for "good."
So, the problem is on your side - and if you have re-installed ie, then what exactly was the error message you got? I, and I suspect most other people, won't be able to help ya until you give the error message - as displayed by the computer.
And some system specs... I just checked out the faq section for you, and the problems can be, well, varied! The major problems are:
a)Your previous shockwave is screwed. The solution is to un-install shockwave, and then download it again. There is a link on the site to a shockwave uninstaller. I'm not sure what that is about, but I would download that and run it.
http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwa....m=Win32 (http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=SWUninstall&P2_Platform=Win32)
The above is the link to the windows shockwave uninstaller.
b)You, or someone else has, at sometime, told ie never to accept content from Macromedia. Again, there is a link on the site to some program to rectify this matter. Here is the link:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub....ler.exe (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/director/shockwaveactivexinstaller.exe)
So download, run, and then try to re-install.
c)You are running windows XP. I doubt this is the case, as the error message they report you should get doesn't really mention problems with the internet...
http://www.macromedia.com/support....ler.htm (http://www.macromedia.com/support/director/ts/documents/standalone_installer.htm)
Use THIS link to go the the standalone installer page, designed for XP users especially!
I hope this is of some use.
Good luck!

very good advice lobo
...also, if that fails, you might want to try a different browser (Netscape maybe?)...
