how come when ryu does a uppercut in the air he is always vulnarable to an attak.

that's a stupid question it's like asking why is ryu vulnerable when he does a hadouken it's becuz he can't block and hit the player at the same time

i think he's only vunerable to projectile attacks tho
I believe he's referring to when Ryu falls back to the ground after a dragon punch.

Yup.
It would be nice to be able to block or preform "something" just before landing....just about at "character head level" would be nice.

That is the real reason.
WHen he is coming down it is still considered as part of the dragon punch.
So no he can defend and attack at the same time.
