Lag boost - What is it?

that'll be very hard :Oo: you'd have to join ppl's games just to see their ping....ppl with low ping don't have to much lag, but ppl with bad ping does have a good bit on 'em (vice-versa).

NOTE: for those who don't know what ping is, it's those numbers that's onside of your name when you join someone's game. sometimes..it'll appear on top of the screen while you'r fighting, where it says lag, or sometimes it'll have question marks..and your ping (the numbers) can show up sometime. ping is in every pc game, FPS games, halo for pc, ect.

You can try to reduce lagg by close all open programs and closing all internet windows. Also you can click options then click other and cut off the background it helps. Now im not saying that there won't be any lagg but it will help stop it.

You can also try disk defragmenting your files and you can go to "Options" (inside the game) , click on "Other" and select "No background" .. and also turning off the game sound or/and music. It's hard to play without sound though, different specials, different sound, you wouldn't know what kind of special ur opponent is doing :biggrin:

Disk defragments help out your computer, free up space and put your files in the right place.. you can do that by going to "My computer" and then Accessories, then "System tools' and you should see disk defragmenter :biggrin:

Lag Boost is called Slow Connect Mode in the games Option sceen, under Networking..
It is meant to be used by, and help improve game play for 56K users.

..I been bugging TMy forever to change that stinking pop-up so it says "Slow Connect Mode" instead of "Lag Boost".

i turn off the sound always, but still the sound comes

Also, if you have spyware on your computer get ready to recieve high lag, because they can eat up your bandwidth, so get a spyware removal tool from www.download.com

Oh yea, as far as the sound you can just bump the number down to 0, or if the sound still comes up, just turn off your speakers :biggrin:

You can speed up ur pc by going to accesories and going to system tools then go to disk cleanup and empty anything u dont need , then go to system tools agaain and go to disk defragment.
