Um...help - Can't get on a server

Hey y'all,
I just got Norton Internet Security and well I use to be able to play but now I can't. I checked the firewall button in the network place but it didn't work. It still won't let me on. What do you recommend?

Try disabling Norton Internet Security while you're playing, or try going to your network settings and check "allow others to share/connect your internet connection" = /. Anyway, doing this should help. If not, I think you might have to try a different security system.. = /

Thank you but that didn't work....And i'm not about to get a new anti virus thing..that thing was way too much money to just throw away....

Any other ideas...

Perhaps you have a Hacker in your Network, i use Ad-Aware to get rid of hackers ,spys ect ,ect ,ect. so if you want to you can try that.

Well, you really can't do nothing about.. but you can try one thing that will probably work, try typing in AUTO .. where it says Local IP .. oh yeah.. try checking "old connection mode for firewalls" :biggrin:

ok when you are about to load the game hold ctrl button and it should work

Try pressing F5 as soon as the game comes on and keep on pressing it until it works.

Elena usually when u check that firewall button u have to wait a bit i suggest playin story mode for a round or two and then it should work thats what i do

Well, actually I've only played once or twice...once against some guy and he hosted and once against byrdy and I hosted...I don't know how I did it...for byrdy but I think the ctrl worked for the other guy.

Norton should NOT inhibit you from playing the game... cause I have 2005 which is more strict as far as internet transportation is concerned.. so yeah :biggrin:

Next time make your own topic. You can't just go in others and post that you need help with something. Don't want to get things mix-up and such.

But anyways, do you have a firewall??

ok...allow me...I have Norton Internet Security. I suggest you use the download version for it.

When you first open the game, you should get a window pop-up that looks like this.

You have to chose the option i have selected there. Eventhough it says high risk, it's up to you whether you want to allow all port connections to go through. If you don't you won't be able to host.

Once you accept it and load the game, you HAVE to check off the firewall boxin options or you still won't be able to host.

and there you have it!

btw...i barely ever see you in the servers....waddup wit that?

i dont use norton, i use the one with windows, wherre it will automatically update or ask you to... cox internet security or something
