First Post here your connection all.
-My connection is 0.5 Mo.
I have an importante question.
Question:
Im not sure but i think that our connection is very importante in this game.
Its more difficult to beat someone with a big connection (T1) that someone with a bad connection (56k or 0.5mo)
===> Their life go down very slow, they are faster than us (its easier to dodge ......)
If someone can answer me ^^
and players, post here your connection ^^

Lag is unpredictable but a faster connection usually helps you.

You've got to be kidden me... 100Mbps??!?!?!

I'm hosting a server and a BOT... and technically, my PC AND connection are pretty fast. My present connection is at 4Mbps / 384 kbps. In other words, that's pretty fast. And that's the normal (max... so to say) speed I surf the web and upload... ala send packets of data. Then even a 12 Mbps is extra ordinarily fast.
Basically you get speeds of 100Mbps for your LAN activities... period. I'd like to know your ISP and how they're able to provide you with THAT much speed.
Anyway, the connection does matter a bit. However, what REALLY matters are the specs of your computer. Think along the lines of memory and your video card as well. How much FPS can your Comp produce. Those are the main things that matter.
If someone has a faster comp than you, it's only logical that they send more packets of data your way. You might think this gives them the advantage... but, a slower connection would be able to recieve to its own capability. In english, if your connection says I can recieve only at 4k per second, then that's what you'll be recieving.
The remain 32k that your opponent with a faster connection sends (assuming he sends at 36k) would be lagged and sometimes lost (thus you'd hear of loosing packets of data from time to time  )
However, it goes both ways. You'd only be able to send a fixed amount of data... say 5k; so no matter how fast your opponent's Connection is, he'll only recieve what you give him. So even though he can download the packets at say... 40k, he'd recieve the 5k and have his game running normally.
So in reality, a good connection is okay, but it's all about the PC you're playing the game on. That's what gives ppl with 2GB of RAM an unbelieveable advantage to others with say 256MB of RAM (which is minimum requirement to a good computer for gaming)
Merci Boku

256MB PCI Express x16ATI Radeon X800 XT
1024MB PC-4200 Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz
would i take less damage from my own health than the original p.c im on or am i wrong? please if you can let me know

You will always take the same damage, as long as you see yourself getting hit on your screen.

Lol... just as I suspected. That's (as you can see) your LAN speed. Hence your Local Area Network speed.
A LAN (local area network) is a group of computers and network devices connected together, usually within the same building. If you were to send your files through MSN, to someone in your network, it would go at 100Mbps.
However, that's not the speed at which you connect to the net. The "larger" router that you're connected to (from your ISP) would send data to ur comp at a speed that your ISP would give you. If you were with Comcast, I'd say about a 4Mbps download speed and about 385 kbps for uploading.
That right there... is pretty fast
Your Rogers-high speed service has a variety of "products" or plans.. if you will. You might be on the one that has a 3Mbps/385kbps d/u capability... or some other more expensive plan... which is equally fast.
Jin: As alamgir said you won't loose health at any "uber changed" degree. However, a better computer (kinda like the better specs you just copied from a Dell or HP website *cough*) would surely give you better performance of your gaming pleasure
And there you have it

ok..this somewhat makes sense to me..i have no routers in my house...so...i believe cuzz its a "Local Area" Connection...it means for the surrounding are where i live
aiight man..thx for clearing that
btw, do u kno if there is a way to find out the exact speed on my computer?

Lol.
In France we can find 15M maximum for now in a big town.
but in Germany, we can find 30M (2000 / 3000 kos)
Look your self:
I must edit: Photobucket is inactive for now.
PPL, you can test your connection here:
http://www.allocam.com/camchat.php
(its a french site: You must press :Test Connection under the windows logo on the left)
http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ (its english here)

hmm... i keep on trying the speed test thing but it keeps on coming up as an error.....it says it mabey too high or too low to tell.... mabey it's because of my firewall to block incomming connections.... i guess i get a faster connection that way...... last time i checked my connection it was with Aol Computer checkup and it said my connection was 76kbps ...lol i guess this is a very odd phone line i connected to my computer....i found it in the basment.... it looks like a cable for TVs but it's for the phone line.... it's fast though... and awway i go to play sfo!

Now i konw that im Right :)
Nixz have now a fast connection. Its a very good player but now i cant beat him.
Nixz + Jin Kazama vs -XtremDark- + StarWarrior
Jin havent play and Nixz have kicked our ass.
He have said me on msn that he is faster than us and our special dont give him a lot of damage.
Today i have fought with Dam_ite!!!.
1 vs 1:
Connection: 0.5M(-XtremDark-) vs 2M (Dam_ite!!!)
This time he was very fast, faster than me. I have given him a raging demon level 3 and he havent got dammage.....

doesn't mean ur speed is going 100 mbps. When you got your cable box or dsl box it will tell you the speed. The LAN doesn't matter that say on the screen, it's on the modem

Yea he is right.
I can see like paladin, but im with a 0.5M not 100M ???

Yeah it only means that 100mbps is shared on the network and is the maximum bandwith all users on the network can reach. Your ISP decides how fast you go.
