Please don't put this idea in ridicule, it's just a suggestion and doesn't HAVE to be done aight!? I was thinking for Ryu he does the HADOKEN right? But what happened to the SHAKUNETSU HADOKEN? (The red fireball or GOU HADO which does more damage and is done by pressing back down foward punch) or the METSU SHORYUKEN (Super shoryuken, it's a special move done by down forward kick.) Or other character such as ROLENTO, DAN a playable BLANKA, SAKURA, BIRDIE, AKUMA, VEGA, ADON, CODY. CAMMY, ZANGIEF, THUNDER HAWK, ROSE, GUY, EDMOND HONDA, JUNI, JUNLI, ***BREATHES DEEPLY*** and GEN, FEI LONG, KAREN, BALROG, SODOM, SAGAT (Don't forget Ryu's rival!) Dee Jay, and Rainbow Mika (Drool!)

*crowd cheers* *chants* Dan Dan Dan Dan Dan

Also, those special moves would be nice to add in. It would also be nice if somehow Wolverine's Drill Claw could be aimed like in the arcade.

But, just telling you, you have just asked to have the majority of the SFA3 fighters added, and then some. There is no way that TMyApp is going to do all that. You have a better chance of just asking for one of those characters, and asking for there to be a secret way of selecting him/her (seeing as there is no room for that character on the screen). I nominate Dan Hibiki (bet you saw that one coming). Even with just one suggestion, though, TMyApp will probably not adopt the idea.

Regarding the special moves, though... those are good suggestions, and there may be a chance. By Metsu Shoryuken, do you mean the Shin Shoryuken, which Selvin is in desperate need of?

One last comment: Sagat is not Ryu's rival, really. Dan Hibiki is Sagat's rival, seeing as Sagat killed Go Hibiki in the fight that Sagat lost his eye in. Ryu's eternal rival is Ken Masters, fellow student in the Shotokan ways.

This is Xmen vs Street Fighter, not Street fighter alhpa 3.
And i believe next in line for the game is an xmen character.

And and the "metsu" is actually mesatsu go shruyken, and is evil ryu's move.. it's not the shin shoruyken.

Ugh, it looks like not many people play Alpha 3. The difference between the two Shoryuken supers is that the Shin Shoryuken is a 4 hit Super while the Metsu Shoryken starts off with an elbow to the stomach then a Shoryuken (Not sure about the hits, because the elbow usually knocks the person half across the screen.)
Shoryuken Supers (http://images.google.com/images?q=shin+shoryuken&hl=en) come in many shapes and sizes. There are the Shin Shoryuken, Metsu Shoryuken, Shinryuken, ShoryuuReppa, Messatsu Gou Shoryuu, Shoryu Cannon and many others. If you click on the link above, the Shin Shoryuken is on the left and the Metsu Shoryuken is on the right.

Okay, now I know what you are talking about, Selvin. I always knew how to do the Metsu Shoryuken in SFA3, but I never knew what it was called. Also, the Metsu Shoryuken is a 3-hit Super Combo; the elbow strike, the shoryuken start, and the shoryuken launch. It actually isn't that strong compared to his other super moves. In addition, you must have Level 3 to use it, and only in A-ISM.

Beg your pardon? The SHORYUREPPA was Ken's Super Shoryuken which hit an opponent 3 times, the SHINRYUKEN was where he coiled up and let loose straight up in the air with his SHORYUKEN hitting an opponent 8 times, and the SHIPPU JINRAIKYAKU was where hit kicked numerous times and did the HURRICANE KICK (TASTU-MAKI-SENPU-KYAKU) in the air. And now you have forced me to tell EVERYONE's STORY LINE!!!!! (BREATHES IN DEEPLY)

ADON
DOB:
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 161 lbs.
Blood Type: B
Nationality: Thailand
Discipline: Muay Thai

"I am a Muay Thai Master. You are sucking gravel."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The arrogant Adon was once Sagat 's pupil. He patterned his fighting style after the jaguar, and his moves often hypnotized his opponents. He was second only to Sagat in his fighting ability, and he fought in the first World Warrior tournament. Both he and Sagat were defeated by Ryu, and Adon was disgraced that Sagat had lost to such a diminuative fighter. After Sagat's defeat, Adon was seen as the premier Muay Thai fighter, even though he had lost to Ryu as well. He eventually became a champion, but still felt dishonored at his earlier defeat. In order to restore his honor, and prove that he was champion once and for all, Adon left Thailand in search of Sagat.

His early attempts at finding Sagat proved futile, as Sagat had gone into seclusion after having lost to Ryu again. Adon did, however, run onto M.Bison, who asked Adon to join Shadowlaw. Adon declined the invitation, wanting to settle his score with Sagat first. Adon searched for months before finding Sagat, and challenged him to a fight. Sagat had just been humiliated by Ryu again, and was unprepared for another battle. Adon defeated him easily, strengthening his claim to the Muay Thai championship and increasing Sagat's disgrace.

Adon had finally defeated his former master and restored the honor of Muay Thai, but he felt it was not enough. He believed that he had to pit his fighting style against the Raging Demon of Akuma. Akuma was a mysterious Shotokan warrior who was considered to be more legend than truth, but Adon set out to find the demonic fighter. It is not known whether or not Adon actually located Akuma, or if he could have actually survived such an encounter. Nothing is known of Adon's current whereabouts, but it may only be a matter of time before he surfaces again.

AKUMA
DOB: Unknown
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 176 lbs.
Blood Type: Unknown
Nationality: Japanese
Discipline: Shotokan Karate

"Weaklings! Is there no one worth fighting?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Akuma is a demonic entity in the body of Gouki who, like Ryu, wanders the earth in search of suitable competition. He seeks to eliminate all those who know the secret of the origin of his powers. He also seeks a final, fatal confrontation with Ryu, the only person alive that can possibly be his equal. Drawing out Ryu's hidden potential and fighting Ryu to the death is the only thing that can satisfy Akuma's bloodthirsty inclinations.

Akuma's past is shrouded in mystery. He is the embodiment of an evil entity which held the key to a fearsome power called the Raging Demon, which was sealed by the Shotokan master Goutetsu. The Shotokan fighting style allowed it's practitioners to kill with a mere strike. The secret of this deadly technique was the focusing of the powerful forces of destruction, called forth by beckoning the power of the Raging Demon. Goutetsu wisely decided to banish the use of the Messatsu, and taught his two young sons, Gouken and Gouki, a gentler version of the Shotokan arts. While Gouken agreed with his father's decision, it was apparent that Gouki did not. Gouki, unlike his calm brother, was ruled by his emotions and often fought with rage. This rashness caused Gouki to train in the woods alone, that he might discover the secret technique on his own. One day while in the forest, he stumbled upon a mysterious cave, where a voice called out and asked him if he wanted to learn the secret techniques. Gouki, not thinking of the consequences, agreed to the voices' demands, and his body was taken over by the demonic force known as Akuma. Returning home, he murdered his father with his newfound killing technique, and quickly looked through his belongings to see if any others knew of the killing techniques. He discovered that there was another, Goutetsu's friend Gen, whom Goutetsu often trained. Akuma vowed to kill Gen, but not before he would murder his brother. Gouken, however, became aware of his brother's treachery, and quickly fled.

Akuma spent years attempting to find Gouken. He and Gen were the only two people alive who knew Akuma's secrets, and they had to be eliminated. Akuma finally located his brother, who had become a Shotokan master and was training two young warriors, Ryu and Ken. Akuma confronted Gouken high in the mountains, and finally overcame him with the Messatsu technique. Ryu and Ken witnessed their master's death and challenged Akuma, but the demon merely swatted them aside. He then told them to seek him out when they were strong enough to fight him. Having tied up that loose end, he then began his search for Gen, in order to protect his secret from being discovered. After a time, he found Gen, and the two engaged in combat. For a while, it seemed that neither had the ability to defeat the other, but finally Gen admitted he could not defeat the demonic fighter. His resolve weakened, Gen was easily defeated by Akuma. Surprisingly, Akuma permitted Gen to live as long as he told no one of Akuma's secret. Realizing that there were worthy competitors in this world, he later challenged Ryu. Weakened by his battle with Gen, Akuma was only able to fight Ryu to a standstill. Akuma retreated, but not before telling Ryu that he had the potential to awaken the Raging Demon as well. To protect his secret yet again, Akuma destroyed his secret cave and went into hiding. Akuma realized that there were powerful humans on earth, such as Ryu, Gen, and even M.Bison, who were perhaps capable of defeating him.

Akuma kept close tabs on the second World Warriors tournament, but remained in the shadows as he watched the World Warriors fight. It had been Bison's hope to draw Akuma out of hiding and persuade him to join Shadowloo. When Akuma did make his presence known, it was right after Bison had been defeated by Ryu. Bison awoke to find Akuma standing over him, and the beaten warrior was unable to put up any resistance. Akuma allegedly used the Raging Demon on Bison, and left him for dead.

After traveling the globe in search of more competition, Akuma entered the third World Warrior tournament to test his skills, and also to see if Ryu had reached his full potential yet. The demon within his body had taken full control, and he had unleashed his most deadly fighting technique yet, the Kon Goku RetsuZan. As he watched Ryu from the shadows, he knew that it would only be a matter of time before Ryu was ready for their final confrontation.

TRIVIA
-Akuma means devil in Japanese. In Japan, Akuma is called Gouki, which means

BALROG
DOB: September 4, 1968
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 252 lbs.
Blood Type: A
Nationality: American
Discipline: Boxing

"My fists have your blood on them."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A former heavyweight champion, Balrog was banned from the ring due to his excessive violent tendancies. The dishonored champion turned to gambling and street fighting to support his vices (money and women) and quickly became known as a force to be reckoned with. Feeling he could do more, Balrog left Las Vegas and joined Shadowlaw. Originally a mere executive, Balrog worked his way up from the lower ranks and began to attract attention. M.Bison was so impressed with Balrog's strength that he made the boxer one of the Four Lords of Shadowloo. In order to make him a quicker and more powerful fighter, Bison provided Balrog with some of his Psycho Power. Balrog, along with the other four lords, became one of the Grand Masters of Bison's second World Warriors tournament. Easily defeating lesser fighters, Balrog met his defeat when Ryu nailed him with a Hadoken in the chest. Defeated once again, Balrog quit Shadowlaw and returned to Las Vegas, in the hopes of finding some other way to return to the ring.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRIVIA
-In Japan, Balrog is called M. Bison.

BIRDIE
DOB:
Height: 7'
Weight: 244 lbs.
Blood Type: O
Nationality: British
Discipline: None

"I am Birdie! The most rotten villain in the world... I hope!."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Birdie was a former street thug who learned to be tough while working as a bouncer in seedy British pubs. Birdie had a fondness for leather and chains, and wanted nothing more than to prove his strength to the world. He entered the first World Warrior tournament on the promise of prize money, but was quickly defeated and returned to his backstreet lifestyle. Hearing of an organization called Shadowlaw, Birdie left England again in search of M. Bison, the leader of the organization. Birdie impressed Bison with his tenacity and strength, and Birdie was offered a position in the organization. However, Bison just used Birdie as a source of psycho power, and generally relegated him to menial jobs. His life as a henchman became boring, and he began to realize he was being used, so Birdie decided to leave Shadowlaw. Not content just to leave, he began to gather information in order to bring Bison down. By sheer accident, he uncovered information pertaining to Bison's Psycho Drive, which later found it's way into the hands of Interpol. Birdie returned to the alleys of London, putting his Shadowlaw career behind him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRIVIA
-Birdie is friends with Titanic Tim, the British wrestler from Saturday Night Slam Masters.

-In his appearance in the first Street Fighter, Birdie was white, but by the Alpha series he was black. Capcom acknowledged this discrepancy during Street Fighter Alpha 3, where one of Birdie's win quotes was "Oh, what!?... Before? I looked pale because I was sick!!"

BLANKA
DOB: February 12, 1966
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 218 lbs.
Blood Type: B
Nationality: Brazilian
Discipline: Self-taught

"Seeing you in action is a joke!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blanka is something of a local legend in Brazil, and his origin was shrouded in mystery. His real name is Jimmy, and his plane went down over the Brazilian rain forest when he was only six years old. Blanka was raised by animals in the Amazon, and it was from them that he learned several fighting techniques that made him into a formidable fighter. How he acquired his bestial appearance was unknown, but it suited his fighting style well.

Blanka remained hidden deep in the Amazon, living a carefree existance while rumors of a monster spread to the nearby villages. One day, he unwittingly hitched a ride on a poachers' car that was leaving the forest. Curious about the things he saw while on his journey, he began to venture into the world outside the rain forest. In order to test his fighting prowess, Blanka began to challenge local fighters. From there, his legend grew and he began to attract the attention of fighters from around the world. Many came to challenge him, including Dan. Blanka defeated Dan, and later saved his life when Dan got into trouble. Dan did not forget Blanka's kindness, and returned several years later to offer Blanka membership in his new Saikyo dojo. Blanka declined Dan's offer, but did take his advice to travel the world to prove his skills.

In an attempt to discover his origin, and test his skills, Blanka entered the second World Warrior tournament. He faced off against Ken in his native Brazil, and was eventually defeated by the powerful warrior. The day was not a total loss, however. The attention Blanka had recieved had allowed his long lost mother to locate him. She had seen his picture in a Brazilian newspaper, and even though his appearance had changed she still recognized her son. She met with Blanka after his defeat, revealed her identity to him and correctly identified him as Jimmy. Happy to be reunited with his mother after such a long time, Blanka returned to live with his mother and has not entered a competition since. Many believe, however, that is only a matter of time before the fearless Beast of Brazil returns to the fight.

CHARLIE NASH
DOB:
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 185 lbs.
Blood Type: AB
Nationality: American
Discipline: Special Forces

"Be all that you can be, scumbag!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charlie was a student of biology at an American university. Despite his bookish ways, he was also a superb martial artist, and won several U.S. tournaments before joining the U.S. Air Force. He quickly distinguished himself and eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant. His best friend since basic training was Guile, and the two had great respect for each other.

In 1987, Charlie and Guile were sent on a mission to Cambodia, where their entire special forces unit was captured by Shadowlaw troops under the command of M.Bison. The unit became the test subjects for a violent drug called DOLL, and all other members of the force ended up killing each other. After several months of imprisonment, Charlie and Guile finally escaped, but they were seperated during the perilous trek back to civilization. Charlie arrived back at his base and told his superiors of Bison's illicit activities. Realizing Bison's threat, Charlie was sent on a mission to bring in Bison for his crimes. Eager to bring such an evil man to justice, Charlie left without waiting for any word on Guile.

Charlie tracked Bison down in Southeast Asia, and confronted him. He charged Bison with drug trafficking, murder, and other charges too numerous to count. Underestimating his opponent, Charlie found himself overpowered by his adversary and was left for dead after a brutal attack from behind. Charlie survived, and quickly renewed his search for Bison. Several months later, he discovered that Shadowlaw had moved it's base of operations to Brazil. He set out for the new base, and found himself once again facing the man that had slaughtered his entire unit. This time Charlie got the upper hand, and was just about to defeat the drug lord when he was shot in the back by a Shadowlaw soldier. He plummeted down the waterfall he and Bison had been fighting near and was once again presumed dead. Guile, who after returning to the base had been sent to back Charlie up, arrived in Brazil after the fight. He found evidence of Shadowlaw activity, but they had already evacuated the base. He also found Charlie's bloody dogtags at the top of the waterfall, and swore vengeance against Bison for Charlie's death.

Incredibly, Charlie was not dead. The gunshot wound had been a mere graze and he managed to avoid hitting any rocks on his way down the waterfall. He nontheless was severely injured, and spent several months recuperating. Deterimined to bring in Bison once and for all, Charlie set out for Thailand, were it was rumoured Bison was assembling a massive Psycho Drive to regenerate his powers. This time, he met allies along the way. An Interpol group led by Chun-Li was targeting Bison's Thailand base as well, and they quickly accepted Charlie's help. When they arrived at the base, Charlie recieved a surprise: Guile was waiting there for them. Both were releived to see that the other was allright, but Guile had orders to bring Charlie back. Feeling that victory was finally at hand, Charlie refused, and he and Guile nearly got into a fight. However, the Interpol forces managed to break inside the base and the two friends followed them inside. They located the Psycho Drive chamber, and Charlie set timed explosives near the device. They were about to leave when Bison returned. During the battle that followed, Charlie attacked Bison and was fatally injured. Knowing that he was going to die anyway, Charlie ordered the troops to evacuate while he held Bison off. The Interpol group had to drag Guile out and barely escaped before the base exploded. Bison escaped as well, but his source of power had been destroyed. Charlie had died a hero attempting to end Bison's threat once and for all.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRIVIA
-Charlie is known as Nash in Japan.

-In Guile's original Street Fighter 2 story, Charlie had been killed on the long trek back from their early imprisonment.

CHUN-LI
DOB: March 1, 1964
Height: 5'8"
Weight: She won't tell
Blood Type: A
Nationality: Chinese
Discipline: Kempo

"You don't have the skill to beat me!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chun-Li's father was killed when she was very young, and she has trained most of her life to gain revenge on his murderer, M. Bison. Using the skills her father taught her, Chun-Li quickly earned a reputation as the strongest woman in the world. After some time, Chun-Li finally received clues as to the wherabouts of M. Bison. She tracked the dictator down and attempted to stop him, but Bison severely beat her. He also told Chun-Li that her father had been killed for snooping around his operation, and warned her against doing the same. While Chun-Li was recuperating in a hospital, she was approached by agents of Interpol, who hired her to take Bison down. This time, Chun-Li teamed up with Rose to confront Bison. The two were successful in sealing off Bison's power, but Bison himself escaped. Rose considered her work done, but Chun-Li had sworn revenge for her father's death and vowed to track Bison to the ends of the earth.

Due to corruption within Interpol, Chun-Li became increasingly powerless as an official and soon switched to active duty again. Upon learning of Bison's Psycho Drive in Southeast Asia, she spearheaded an operation to destroy the Shadowlaw base and end Bison's threat forever. Her Interpol group was joined by a military group led by Charlie, and they managed to find Bison's base in the heart of Thailand jungle. They had planned to bomb the facility, but were unable to do so. Instead, Chun-Li and Charlie led a group into the facility to arrest Bison and destroy the Psycho Drive from within. This attempt went sour as well, but Charlie sacrificed himself to destroy the base. The group barely made it to safety before the base exploded. Chun-Li was dissapointed, however, when she saw Bison fleeing from the destroyed base.

Chun Li continued to track Bison's movements, waiting for an opportunity to strike. It came when Bison sponsored the second World Warriors tournament. She was entered into the tournament by Interpol, to bring Bison in for his crimes. This time, she found she had more allies in the fight against Bison, Guile and Ryu. Ryu especially was of help to Chun-Li, helping her better control her Kikoken fireball. She took a liking to the wandering warrior, but revealed it to no one. Bison was aware of Chun-Li's entrance into the tournament, and sent Vega after her. She barely beat the assassin, but was badly injured. Although hospitalized, she helped Interpol track down the rest of Bison's criminal empire. After Bison had been defeated, Chun-Li took a long vacation from Interpol.

In the few years following the tournament, Chun-Li attempted to stay in touch with Ryu through Ken. However, Ken grew tired of trying to track Ryu down and stopped delivering her letters to him. Chun-Li eventually gave up on Ryu, and was called out of retirement to keep tabs on the mysterious warrior Gill. She entered the third World Warriors tournament to keep a closer eye on Gill, and rescued Sean from captivity. Little is known about what happened to Chun-Li after Gill's defeat.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRIVIA
-Chun-Li means beautiful spring in Chinese.

Cody
DOB:
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 187 lbs.
Blood Type:
Nationality: American
Discipline:

"After waiting so long, it feels good to do more than two moves!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Born in Metro City, Cody gained a reputation as a feared street fighter. He often competed in local tournaments to prove his skill, and during one of these fights he met Guy. The two became friends immediately, despite their different backgrounds and fighting styles. Cody also became friends with Metro City mayor and former wrestler Mike Haggar, and fell in love with Haggar's daughter Jessica. The two became inseperable, and Haggar felt it was only a matter of time before the two would marry.

Tragedy struck the young couple one day when Jessica was kidnapped by the criminal Mad Gear Gang. Her father had passed legislation to begin a war on organized crime, and the Mad Gear kidnapped Jessica to stop Haggar's efforts. When Haggar recieved word of this, he quickly enlisted Cody and Guy's help. The trio began an assault on all Mad Gear strongholds, and it was not long before the organization was ruined and Jessica was saved. Haggar thanked Cody and Guy personally, and it seemed that everything in Cody's life was right again.

After the destruction of the Mad Gear, the three went their seperate ways. As time passed, Cody found himself fighting more often, sometimes for no reason. He became despondant, and began to drift around, searching for peace. Jessica noticed the change in him and left, only serving to increase Cody's combative tendancies. He continued to wander until one day he was arrested for severely beating an opponent during one of his numerous fights. Cody was imprisoned in the Metro City jail in utter disgrace.

He remained there for some time, until an opportunity arose and he escaped from prison. On the run from the authorities, he met up with his old friend Guy. Having heard of Cody's plight, Guy was quick to lend a sympathitic ear to the fallen hero. The two dueled to recall old times, and Guy's kind words set many of Cody's inner demons to rest. Refreshed, Cody decided to leave the city and lay low for awhile, as there were many policemen and crminals alike who were searching for him. Bidding Guy farewell, Cody left for parts unknown, in search of a new destiny.

DAN HIBIKI
DOB:
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 163 lbs.
Blood Type: O
Nationality: Chinese (Hong Kong)
Discipline: Shotokan Karate, (modified)

"Anyone can fight... But no one can show off like I can!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dan was a reckless youth who was constantly getting into trouble. His father, Go Hibiki, saw that his son needed discipline and attempted to train him in the martial arts. Dan was never able to master the art of fighting, and his continued failures disgraced him. Growing more reckless, he left home and began to wander the world in the hopes of finding a master who could teach him. While he was gone, his father left for Thailand to challenge the Muay Thai master named Sagat. For a while, it seemed that Go had the advantage, but the mighty Sagat soon defeated him. Go had been dealt a mortal blow, and he died just a few days after the fight.

Dan managed to get word of this during his travels, and raced home to find that his father was indeed dead. Filled with rage, Dan vowed to avenge his death and defeat Sagat. In desperate need of training, Dan went to Japan to a man named Gouken in order to learn the killing techniques of Shotokan Karate. He began learning the basics, but was again disgraced by Gouken's prize students, Ryu and Ken. Even the less-adept Retsu was able to outshine Dan in Gouken's eyes. Frustrated, Dan demanded that Gouken teach him the Shotokan killing techniques. Gouken explained that the killing techniques were forbidden, and seeing the rage in Dan's eyes he refused to train him further. Dan left Gouken's dojo possessing only a rudimentary Shotokan education.

Dan began to train on his own, and developed his own unique (if less effective) fighting style which he called Saikyo-Ryu ("The Strongest Style"). Believing his style to truly be the strongest, he decided that after he defeated Sagat he would open up his own dojo and teach Saikyo-Ryu to others. After he completed his "training," Dan received word that Sagat had been defeated by Ryu. Not wanting anyone to interfere with his plans for revenge, Dan immediately headed to Thailand to confront Sagat. He managed to find Sagat after a few months of searching, and challenged the fallen champion. Dan was in way over his head, however, as Sagat was more massive and powerful than ever before. Dan was pummeled without mercy, and surely would have been killed had Ryu not intervened. Dan was tossed aside as the two great rivals squared off again, and Sagat was again defeated. Despite seeing Sagat in defeat, Dan still felt his task was not completed. He also felt a burning hatred for Ryu and Ken, because they had outshone him at Gouken's dojo and because Ryu had interfered in his fight with Sagat.

After his disgrace, Dan became a hobo, wandering from place to place and fighting for money. In his travels, he encountered Sakura, a Japanese schoolgirl trying to emulate Ryu's fighting style. Seeking to prove that his style was the best, Dan began teaching Sakura moves. While in Sakura's hometown, Dan participated in a tournament hosted by Karin Kanzuki, in which he lost to Ken. This only served to further his animosity towards Ryu and Ken.

When he set out to find Sagat again, he found that the Muay Thai fighter had been defeated by his former pupil Adon. Dan challenged Sagat again, and this time defeated the reckless fighter. Feeling that his father had been avenged by Sagat's disgrace, Dan returned to Hong Kong and began recruiting students for his new Saikyo-Ryu dojo, which opened to great success.

After a few years, Dan felt that he was stuck in a rut and temporarily shut the dojo down. He began to wander the world again in search of worthy competition. His travels led him to Brazil, where he met up with a local Brazilian legend named Blanka. Dan had met Blanka before he faced Sagat the first time, and the beast had saved his life. Not forgetting the debt he owed Blanka, Dan offered to take Blanka back to his dojo and train him. Blanka, whom Dan knew as Jimmy, felt confident in his own fighting skills and declined the offer. After advising Blanka to travel the world in search of his own challenges, Dan returned to the Saikyo dojo to once again train his students.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRIVIA

-Dan's creation has a long history. Dan's creation has an interesting story behind it. Back when Street Fighter II had just become popular, SNK released a game called the Art of Fighting. The game was an obvious rip-off of SFII, and it's heroes, Ryo and Robert, looked similar to Ryu and Ken. This did not go unnoticed by Capcom. When they released artwork for SFII Turbo, Sagat was seen holding the battered body of a fighter, who looked like Robert in Ryo Sakazaki's clothing. Then, when it came time to make Alpha, the programmers included Sagat's battered adversary as a secret character and called him Dan. Dan's moves, especially his Gadoken and Koryuken, are very similar to the watered-down moves found in the Art of Fighting. Last, but not least, Dan's custom combo symbol is like the mask Ryo's father wore in the Art of Fighting.

DEE-JAY
DOB: October 31, 1965
Height: 6'
Weight: 203 lbs.
Blood Type: O
Nationality: Jamaican
Discipline: Kickboxing

"Your problem is you don't have any rhythm!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dee-Jay is a very musically inclined yet down-on-his-luck kickboxer from Jamaica. He had been unable to make a living as a musician, so he was using his kickboxing talents to earn money. He had learned his unique fighting style by following the rhythm of his music, and hoped to one day find the perfect blend between fighting and music. He had reached his limit with the local fighters, and thus sought bigger and better challenges. In his travels, he learned that a man named M.Bison was hosting a World Warriors tournament. So, he journied to Thailand in the hopes of winning the tournament. He planned to use his winnings to finally record a reggae album and make it big. However, he did not make it very far in the tournament before he was defeated by Zangief. Although he was discouraged by his loss, during one of his matches he had created what he considered to be his best song ever. Returning home, he continued kickboxing and took on odd jobs until he finally was able to scrape enough money together to make a record. One of the songs he included was the tune he created during the World Warriors tournament. A major recording studio heard the song and gave Dee-Jay a record deal. After all his hard work, Dee-Jay finally hit the big time, becoming a famous reggae star with his unique musical style.

DHALSIM
DOB: November 22, 1952
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 107 lbs.
Blood Type: O
Nationality: Indian
Discipline: Yoga

"I'm your master. Pain is a state of mind and I don't mind your pain."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dhalsim has been trained by the best Yoga masters since he was a young boy, and is now the greatest Yoga master himself. His great powers are unattainable by most men, and has gained the ability to extend his astral self. Having a great respect for all living things, Dhalsim uses his fighting techniques only as defensive manuevers, and could never permanently harm anyone. He lives in a village in India with his wife, Sally.

It had never been Dhalsim's intent to become a World Warrior, yet he was forced into competition when his village was struck by famine. He witnessed the unfortunate deaths of several children, and wore their skulls on a necklace to remind himself of his mission. In his travels, he encountered a being of pure evil, once which Dhalsim felt it was his duty to stop. The entity was called Edmund Honda, when suddenly he could not concentrate his attacks. Another person's chi was blocking his, and distracted Dhalsim long enough for Honda to defeat him. Thinking back to his encounter with Akuma, Dhalsim realized that this man was the powerful opposite of the demonic fighter. Dhalsim vowed to keep track of the man whose power was so great. He and Honda conversed after the battle, and it was then that Dhalsim learned of a World Warriors tournament that was being held in Thailand. Realizing that this tournament would be a great opportunity to not only increase his skills but earn more money for the villagers, he journeyed to Thailand to enter the tournament.

When he arrived, he found that he was in the company of many skilled fighters. With his Yoga discipline, Dhalsim rose in the tournament standings until he was matched against a fighter named Ryu. Dhalsim was surprised to find that Ryu was the same fighter he had sensed during his fight with Honda in India. Dhalsim had spent a great deal of time honing his skills, and had found a way to neutralize Ryu's chi, making him invulnerable to Ryu's fireball. Ryu had a hard time penetrating Dhalsim's defenses, but eventually nailed him with a ShoRyuKen. The two warriors conversed after Ryu's win, and Dhalsim wished Ryu luck in the remainder of the tournament. Ryu eventually became the champion of the tournament, and Dhalsim returned home satisfied that he had been defeated by such a skilled fighter. Although his journey had ended in defeat, Dhalsim had learned all that he needed to know during his travels, and returned home to his family with what winnings he had earned. Dhalsim retired from competition, and now spends his days as a loving husband and father.

Edmund Honda has been trained by the greatest sumo wrestling coaches since birth. Earning the title of Yokozuno ("Grand Champion"), Honda became legendary in Japan. Because of his great skill, he naturally attracted a lot of challengers. One such opponent was an American named Sodom. Sodom was looking to recruit sumos into his new Mad Gear Gang, but was no sumo himself and quickly lost. His travels led him to India, where he fought a skilled Yoga master named Dhalsim. Honda defeated Dhalsim, although it seemed that the Indian was distracted. Honda advised Dhalsim to join the World Warriors tournament, and started to leave when he encountered another Japanese fighter named Ryu. The two became friends, and they practiced together for a short time before journeying to Thailand to enter the second World Warriors tournament.

Honda won many battles in the tournament before he was finally defeated by Chun-Li. He fell in love with the beautiful warrior and began avidly pursuing her, but she showed no interest. Nonetheless, Honda remained until the end of the tournament to see Ryu defeat the host of the tournament M.Bison. Gen is a skilled Chinese martial artist and a former assassin. As a young man, he had been friends with the Shotokan master Goutetsu, who tought Gen the legendary Messatsu killing technique. He used a modified version of it in his career as an assassin. When Goutetsu made the decision to seal the technique, Gen agreed never to teach it to another soul. He even withheld it from his son, Lee, whom he was training in the ways of martial arts. Gen remained active in the Hong Kong area until he heard that Goutetsu had been murdered by his son Gouki. He had used the forbidden Messatsu technique, and Gen knew that Gouki would be looking for anyone who had knowledge of the technique. Thus, he went into seclusion, training fighters in a military compound in Shanghai. It was there that he trained his grandsons Yun and Yang in the ways of martial arts. He saw that they showed great promise, unlike their father.

After years of living in secrecy, Gen realized that he had to seek out Gouki and destroy him. He entered the first World Warriors tournament hoping to find leads. He found no trace of Gouki, and was defeated by a youth named Ryu who had been the pupil of Goutetsu's son Gouken. He returned to training his pupils while gathering information on Gouki. After a few years, he finally found a trace of Gouki, who now called himself Akuma. He followed Akuma's faint trail and eventually caught up with him. A fierce battle ensued, but Akuma was much too powerful for Gen as he later admitted. Defeated, Gen told Akuma to finish him and preserve his secret. For some reason, Akuma left him to his fate, demanding that Gen never reveal his secret to anyone. Returning home, Gen realized that he could not defeat Akuma, but was no longer hunted by him either. He continued to train his students, searching for the one who could beat Akuma.

GUILE
DOB: December 23, 1960
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 191 lbs.
Blood Type: O
Nationality: American
Discipline: Special Forces

"Are you man enough to fight with me?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guile was a colonel in the U.S. Special forces. His best friend since basic training was a skilled fighter named Charlie. The two had great respect for one another, and were often sent on missions together. In 1987, the two were assigned to lead a unit into Cambodia to investigate an organization called Shadowlaw. During the dangerous mission, the entire unit was captured by Shadowlaw forces. M.Bison, the leader of Shadowlaw, tested an experimental drug called DOLL on Guile's unit. The drug was a "psycho- drug" which brought out a user's agressive tendancies. The drug caused all the members of Guile's unit to kill each other; Charlie and Guile were the only survivors.

After months of inprisonment, he and Charlie managed to escape, but on the long trek back to civilization the two were seperated. Guile eventually made it back to his base, where he found out that Charlie had arrived first and had been sent to track Bison down. Guile became worried about his friend when Charlie did not come back for several months. After almost a year passed, Guile was sent to Cambodia to bring Charlie back. When Guile arrived, he found that the Shadowlaw base had been abandoned. After some investigation, Guile discovered that the organization had been moved to Brazil. Guile left Cambodia for Brazil in the hopes that Charlie would be there too.

When he arrived at Brazil, he discovered that that base had been abandoned as well, and quite recently by the looks of it. In his search for clues, he found Charlie's bloody dogtags at the top of a waterfall, and after searching for his friend for hours assumed he was dead. Guile swore that he would avenge Charlie's death by tracking down Bison. Knowing that the military would not allow him to undertake a revenge mission, he stopped checking in with them and continued his search for Bison alone.

After several months, Guile finally learned that Bison had moved his operation back to Southeast Asia. When he arrived in Thailand at the new Shadowlaw base, he found a surprise: Charlie was alive and well. He was a part of a large Interpol force that had gathered to destroy Bison's newly built Psycho Drive. Guile, relieved to see his friend alive again, was not about to let Charlie undertake such a dangerous mission, and the two almost came to blows. Suddenly, Guile understood what this mission meant to Charlie and decided to go along with it. The combined forces stormed the base and made their way to the Psycho Drive chamber. Guile and Charlie set explosives in the chamber, and the group was about to leave when they were attacked by Shadowlaw forces led by Bison himself. Having just been recharged with Psycho Power, Bison overpowered the intruders. Guile watched in horror as Charlie was fatally wounded by Bison. Charlie got up and attacked Bison again, and ordered Guile to move the troops out. Unwilling to leave his dying friend, Guile had to be dragged out of the base by the fleeing Interpol troops. The base exploded, and this time Guile knew that his friend was really gone. Seeing Bison escaping the blazing compound, Guile renewed his vendetta and swore this time to see Bison dead.

Guile returned to his base in order to gain the military's support, but found that he was considered a loose cannon and had been discharged. Completely consumed by rage, Guile left behind his wife and daughter and set out on a new quest for vengeance. After some time, Guile learned of the second World Warriors tournament that was being held in Thailand. The tournament was being held by Bison himself, and Guile immediately registered for the tournament in the hopes of facing and killing Bison.

The tournament attracted numerous warriors, and Guile found himself opposing many skilled warriors. Wearing Charlie's dogtags to remind him of his mission, he breezed through his opponents until he faced a Russian wrestler named Zangief. It seemed that during the numerous competitions Guile had entered in order to find Bison, he had earned a reputation. Zangief had been sent by his government to prove that the American Guile was not championship material. Zangief almost proved that contention, as Guile was barely able to beat him. Although he emerged victorious, Guile was exhausted and wounded from the fight and was no match for his next opponent, Sagat. Guile nearly escaped with his life and decided to wait until after the tournament to finally take his revenge.

Before the tournament was over, Guile discovered that his wife Jane had followed him to Thailand. Ever since he had left, she had been trying to find him and was only able to do so when he entered the World Warriors tournament. Guile was happy to see her, but his mind was still on revenge. Only when he realized that the young woman standing with his wife was his daughter Amy did he understand how foolish his vendetta had been. When he and Charlie had left on the mission to Cambodia all those years ago, Amy was just a child. He had only seen her once since then, and had missed her entire childhood. Amy begged her father to return home with them, and Guile could do nothing but agree. After a time, he learned to accept what happened and finally put the memories of the past to rest.

GUY
DOB:
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 178 lbs.
Blood Type: O
Nationality: Japanese American
Discipline: Bushin Ninjitsu

"The eyes of a Bushin... No movement can escape them!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guy is a Japanese American who was born in Metro City. As he was growing up, Guy got mixed up with the wrong crowd and joined a group of thugs known as the Mad Gear Gang. As a member of the gang, Guy terrorized Metro City until something inside him told him what he was doing was wrong. He quit the Mad Gear, and decided to return to his ancestral home of Japan to seek out his roots. However, a man cannot change overnight, and Guy was still a dangerous barbarian. The people he encountered often avoided dealing with him because of his quick temper. Only one man saw potential in Guy. This man was Zeku, the 38th Bushin master. Although he realized that Guy showed great hatred against other people, Zeku sensed Guy's true martial arts potential and believed that Guy could revive the true essence of the Bushin style.

The origins of Bushinryu Ninjutsu trace back to the year 1440. It was a one-on-one fighting style that was intended for real fighting, not sport or showmanship like other martial arts. In the Sengoku era, those who practiced true Bushin were very popular, but that popularity had waned over the years and the modern form was more for show. Many people, including Zeku, were worried about Bushin's degradation and hoped to revive the true martial arts style. Zeku felt that the savage Guy, if properly trained, could breathe life back into Bushin. So, Zeku decided to entrust the future of Bushin to Guy and began training him.

Guy was a fast learner, and began to take control of his violent nature. After several years of training, Zeku told Guy that his training was nearly complete. However, Guy was not a Bushin master yet. There could only be one at a time, and Zeku was the current master. Only after Zeku's death could he become a true master. Zeku urged Guy to return to Metro City and gain all the experience he could for the time when he would become master.

Guy returned to the U.S., and Zeku disappeared. Still striving to perfect his style, Guy entered into several local competitions to challenge the local fighters. It was through these tournaments that he met Cody, another Metro City native that also had a love for fighting. Cody reminded Guy of the man he used to be, and the two became good friends. Cody even introduced Guy to the mayor of Metro City, former pro-wrestler Mike Haggar. Surrounded by friends, Guy felt truly happy for the first time in his life.

This happiness was ended when Cody arrived one day with terrible news: his girlfriend Jessica had been kidnapped by the Mad Gear Gang and was being held for ransom. Jessica was also Haggar's daughter, and had been kidnapped to stop Haggar's war on organized crime. Haggar and Cody begged Guy to help them rescue Jessica, and Guy could not refuse the request of his closest friends. With Guy's inside knowledge of the Mad Gear, the three men were able to single-handedly bring down the crime organization and rescue Jessica from the Mad Gear's leader Belger. In gratutude, Haggar publicly honored Cody and Guy and thanked them for their help. Unbeknownst to Guy, however, the hatred that the former Mad Gear members had felt toward Haggar was now focused on him. They considered him to have been a traitor, and many swore revenge.

After their breakup of the Mad Gear, the three men began to go their seperate ways. Guy continued to live in Metro City, but felt himself drawn back to Japan to renew his friendly rivalry with master Zeku. One day he came to a sudden realization: He would have to defeat Zeku in order to become the next Bushin master. He could not become master until the previous one died, so master Zeku may even want a duel to the death with Guy. The more Guy thought about it, the more sure he was that he could never kill the man who turned his life around. One day while walking in the streets of Metro City, Guy ran across Sodom, a former member of the Mad Gear gang. Sodom was one of the former members who sought revenge on Guy for the breakup of the Mad Gear, and Sodom also hated Guy for his supposed renouncement of his Japanese heritage. Sodom challenged Guy to a fight, and Guy quickly defeated him. Sodom escaped capture, and Guy decided that with so many Mad Gear members after him it was time to return to Japan.

He continued to train with Zeku, but never spoke about the final battle he was sure would come. After many months, Guy learned that Sodom was scouring the world trying to find him, and Zeku urged Guy to stop Sodom before he could cause any more damage. Guy found and challenged Sodom again, and was prepared to defeat him as easily until Sodom revealed his new partner, Rolento. Rolento was also a former Mad Gear member, and despite different philosophies the two had teamed up to bring Guy down. Guy would have been defeated if a wandering warrior named Ryu had not intervened. After dispatching the two criminals, Ryu and Guy talked about their quest to perfect their respective styles. From Ryu, Guy gained a new perspective on his future in Bushinryu and returned home to face Zeku for what might be the last time.

When he returned, he informed Zeku that he was ready to become the Bushin master. Zeku smiled, for this was the moment he had been waiting for. The two locked in mortal combat, and the battle raged for hours until Guy finally emerged victorious. Even though Guy refused to kill him, Zeku felt confident that the true nature of Bushin had indeed been revived in Guy. He explained to Guy that there had only been so much he could teach Guy, and that the rest Guy had to learn through experience. Proud that Guy had tapped the true power of Bushin and had staked his life to become the Bushin master, Zeku passed the mantle on to Guy.

The 39th Bushin master did not rest on his laurels. He began traveling the world in search of worthy challengers. He eventually returned to Metro City, where he found that his friend Cody had recently escaped from prison. He had been arrested because one of his street fights had gotten out of hand, and was now a fugitive from the law. Hearing that Guy had returned, Cody sought his friend out and the two spent several hours getting reacquainted. Cody soon left for parts unknown, and Guy decided to stay in Metro City and use his Bushin talents to keep his howetown free of crime.

Ryu turned out to be a hard man to find, however, and after weeks of searching Juni returned to Shadowlaw base. When she arrived, she found it in ruins and no trace of Bison could be found. KEN
DOB: February 14, 1964
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 169 lbs.
Blood Type: B
Nationality: American
Discipline: Shotokan Karate

"The flame of my fist won't be put out so easily!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ken, the son of wealthy parents, grew up a risk-taker. He was constantly performing bigger and more dangerous stunts and just barely escaping death. Concerned for his welfare, his parents sent him to Japan to learn discipline from the Shotokan master Gouken. The reclusive master did not just take anyone in as a pupil, and he had never met Ken's parents before so he owed them no special favor. However, he sensed that Ken had great potential and agreed to train him.

At the time of his arrival, Gouken only had two other students. Retsu was an old man who could not seem to grasp the more advanced techniques. The young man named Ryu, however, was clearly a quick learner. Ryu and Ken were roughly the same age, and Gouken made them training partners. The two became good friends and formed a friendly rivalry, often competing to see who could master a technique first. While Ryu tended to think things through, Ken preferred a more reckless approach to fighting. He trained long and hard to perfect his dragon punch, and mastered it so well that his chi caused his fist to burst into flame whenever he used the technique. Ryu was amazed at this ability, and he was unable to duplicate it. Ken was clearly the stronger fighter, but Ryu's techniques were more focused, and more often than not their matches ended in stalemates.

After several years, Ken and Ryu's training came to a sudden and tragic end. They returned from practicing in the countryside to find master Gouken fighting with a mysterious warrior. They watched in horror as the fighter used a powerful technique to kill Gouken, and as he turned to leave they raced after him and attempted to subdue him. The fighter merely swatted the two aside, and left for parts unknown. Ken swore to someday find this fighter and avenge his master's death.

Following the tragedy, Ken and Ryu went their seperate ways. Ken returned to America and began to compete in tournaments. His success and flair for the dramatic led him to become a wealthy action movie star. Although he enjoyed the fast-paced Hollywood life, he also yearned for some worthy competition. When he heard of the World Warriors tournament being held in Thailand, he immediately entered seeking a challenge. Upon arrival, he discovered that Ryu had entered as well, and the two talked about their experiences in the past few years until the tournament began. Ken tore through the weaker competition, and soon found himself facing Ryu. As skilled as Ken was, Ryu was more focused than ever before and Ken was defeated. Much to Ken's delight, Ryu went on to defeat the Grand Master Sagat and became the world champion. The two warriors parted ways once again, and Ken returned to America.

The World Warriors tournament was not the last competition Ken would enter. After he returned home from Thailand, he began to enter more and more of the events in order to prove his skill. He became the U.S. karate master by defeating Allen Snider, a self-taught fighter who had held the title for many years. After the spectacular fight, Ken met a beautiful woman named Eliza and fell in love. Over the course of the next few months, their relationship grew and Ken began to neglect his training. He began to appear at local tournaments less frequentlyt, and although he always came out on top, it was not with his usual ease and style. He and Eliza spent the better part of a year lounging on the beach while Ken's skills decayed.

Ken's beach days were interrupted when he recieved a challenge from Ryu. His former training partner was in the area, and wanted to spar again just like old times. Ken realized that his skill had degraded, and was afraid that Ryu would completely embarrass him. Much to Ken's surprise, Ryu was distracted and distant during the fight and Ken beat him with ease. Ken realized that Ryu was not himself and thus took no pleasure in the victory. He asked Ryu what was bothering him, and he learned that Ryu had not come to make a friendly visit, but to deliver news. He had recently been confronted by a renegade Shotokan warrior named Akuma, who as it turned out was their master's killer. Ryu left to continue his search for this villain, and Ken gave Ryu his red headband as a reminder of the fight. After this incident, Ken realized that even he required constant practice in order to stay in top shape. With Eliza's assistance, Ken began his training anew to prepare for the day he and Ryu would spar again.

Some time after this, Ken learned of a second World Warriors tournament being hosted in Thailand by M.Bison. Knowing that Ryu would be there, Ken quickly signed up and traveled to Thailand to test his strength. Although his skills were still not what they used to be, Ken tore through the opposition until he found himself facing Sagat. The Muay Thai master had just dispatched a strong warrior named Guile, and after a long battle Ken too was defeated. Ken watched as Ryu once again defeated Sagat and then Bison to win his second World Champion title. Although he had been defeated, Ken's day was not a total loss. Eliza had followed him to Thailand, and after the tournament asked him to marry her. Ken and Eliza were married in a beautiful ceremony, and returned to live on the California coast.

Ken retired from competition, and he and Eliza eventually had a son named Mel. Although not participating in tournaments, Ken still practiced hard and had returned to his peak skill level. He lost track of Ryu, but knew that when the time was right they would meet again. Mel grew up to be a strong boy, and Ken hoped to teach him in the ways of Shotokan karate. When Mel was three years old, Ken was approached by a Brazilian youth named Sean who asked Ken to train him. Ken agreed, hoping Sean would be practice for his later training of Mel. During the boy's training, Ken learned of a third World Warriors tournament. Feeling that he could surely find Ryu there, Ken desired to enter the tournament. Eliza had asked him to give up tournament fighting, but they had an understandin wherever Ryu was concerned so she gave him permission to go. He left home for the tournament, and took Sean along to further his studies.

Despite having been absent from competition for several years, Ken shone in the tournament. He still retained some of his reckless brilliance, but years of marriage and fatherhood had matured him and now he was incredibly focused. With Sean watching, Ken defeated Urien, the brother of the tournament's host Gill. After his victory, he and Ryu had a chance to catch up on old times, and before leaving he made Ryu promise to visit periodically. He returned home alone, having suggested that Sean follow Ryu to learn true control. Ken decided it was time to train Mel, and now devoted himself to doing just that.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRIVIA
-Ken appeared in Street Fighter 2010, a futuristic sidescroller that had nothing to do with the Street Fighter series. The intro to the game read like this: "Ken had no interest in the frontier. Then his partner Troy was killed. Someone broke into their lab, stole their invention, and left Troy as a pile of jelly on the floor. It's been 25 years since Ken was king of the Street Fighter circuit, but that's nothing some good bionics can't fix."

Little is known about the man called M. Bison, except that he controlled an awesome force known as Psycho Power and was the absolute ruler of an organization called Shadowlaw. It is unknown how Bison recieved his power, although many rumors have been circulated. Some say that Bison recieved his powers nearly twenty years ago, when his troops stumbled upon a mystical temple deep within the Cambodian jungle. Within the temple, Bison supposedly made a deal with the dark forces he found there, and they granted him the use of the psycho powers before vanishing. However, the spirits warned that these powers would drive Bison mad, and that he would be tempted to misuse his power. Bison did not heed the warning, and sure enough the power began warping his mind. He then amassed a vast criminal empire and began overrunning many smaller Asian countries.
