Old school version? - What is this mysterious new event?

does anyone know anything about this so called "old-school" version that was delayed?? What is it?

i think it was just when there was ryu (and maybe wolvie) and it was like ###### free and there was hardly any lag. but i doubt this one will be ###### free lol

hehe your talkin' about last years version of the game.
What exactly TMy has in store....dunno.
Possibly the very first Ryu vs Ryu version with 2-3 stages of play,1-2 sound tracks, with Psylocke and Blanka as helpers....TOTALY different game engine. :)

Back then a Psylocke, Super Hadoken combo could damn near killa man.

Regular Hadoken were not disintergated by Super Hadoken..But instead passed through them and broke the super!

To die in the corner of doom by a barrage of Ryu medium and hard kicks was expected in every match..The low punch bug was overwhelmingly popluar and effective...and to "lag-teleport" behind your opponent and preform a devestatingly powerfull Tornado Kick was the common tactic used by many a legendary fighter.

The XvsSF realm was totaly new, and we were all "n.o.o.b.s." to the game....If you had been playing the game for more than a month you were a Veteran. :)

And the only fan site was Warmors...ahh the good ol' days.

My how things have changed! :D

if old school version is like it was is the beginning with barely any lag then i will return. Because the game was soo good back then, it didnt have any of this other crap that makes this game laggy.

Ah yes the old days...

Ryu vs Ryu great fight back then...

At first we didnt know we had super jump and we couldent jump his Hadoukens.. and they thought woilve was going to suck ( and he dose) cause we coudent jump ryus hadokens.

But they where fun and we had if i remeber only two chat rooms and no tag (thank god)....

But i hope we can bring it back.

Let's not forget the only thing close to A.I. was hitting z and "Barney" would do a haduken. I can't quite remember, but I don't think that lasted too long.

Hmm dunno realy.
TMy could handle the situation many different ways.
EXAMPLE:
Clicking the "Start" button on the Projectx website and then selecting "Mirror 1" may load the "Old School Version" of the game instead of the current one.
If you want to play the "fullest" version of the game...you will need to get the downloadable version in order to play ALL the current characters.

OR

By clicking the "Start" button on the Projectx website. You could have 3 options.
"Demo" (old school)
"Full" (new school current version)
"Download" (get the D/L new school)

OR

TMy may just post the URL to the old school version...and if you want to play the old version. You will have to visit the addy TMy supplied you with.

The possibilities are pretty infinite.

But only time and TMy can realy answer these questions...send him and e-mail maybe? ???

However..IF the D/L version of the game DOES save XvsSF bandwidth...then TMy may want to do set it up so people have 2 options...play the demo...or get the D/L for the most current version.
This would kinda "force" people to use the D/L and save Projectx bandwidth....wich is actualy...almost a "good" idea...provided the D/L version does save on bandwidth in the long run.

The D/L saves projectx bandwidth,it runs better,it's fast and easy to update, it loads instantly....

although i've never played the arcade version of this(if there is one...sorry i just dont go to arcades much) then it'll probably be a version pretty much exactly like that which tends to be what the old school things are so it might just be the normal arcade mode where you pick your character then just play through the levels fighting people one at a time like most fighting games

Yes should be like that. The only think i dont miss about old school. Is you can use pyslocke 5 times in fact you could use all helpers 5 times. I cant wait No more drill claw yea. OR will he go as far as only ryu in the game. Either way im still happy.

Oh yeah you guys know what i am talking about. Well i think it will be like that, you will still get to choose the version we have now aswell as the old chool version. So all u people who think everything in the game will be gone with old school version, shut up. Why would tmy do all this just to get rid of it

not as much bugs, games ended quicker, less lag, more competition and fairness :biggrin: but.. don't listen to me.. listen to the experts .. here they come...
