[color=blue:post_uid14]OK...SPAM IS A COMMON WORD USED IN THIS FORUM, WHETHER ITS INTENTIONAL OR UNINTENTIONAL

SPAMS USUALLY OCCUR WHEN A PARTICULAR TOPIC IS ALWAYS REPEATED ONLY WITH DIFFERENT TITLES AND I KNOW THE MODS ARE REALLY PISSED DELETING THESE REDUNDANT TOPICS EVERYDAY, SO WATS MY SUGGESTION ???

WHY NOT CREATE A TOPIC ARCHIVE WHERE ALL INFORMATIVE AND INTERESTING TOPICS WILL BE KEPT

B4 SOMEONE POST A TOPIC, A POP-OUT WINDOW WILL APPEAR REMINDING THE MEMBER TO "PLS CHECK THE ARCHIVE B4 POSTING"

SO HOW DOES IT WORK ???

OK...EACH OF THE SECTIONS IN THIS FORUM WILL HAVE AN ARCHIVE OF THE PREVIOUS TOPICS MADE BY THE MEMBERS.
BUT NOT ALL OLD TOPICS WILL BE INCLUDED HERE. ONLY THOSE TOPICS THAT ARE INFORMATIVE, INTERESTING AND SOMETHING OUT OF THE EXTRAORDINARY WILL MAKE IT AND WILL BE CHOSEN BY THE MODS THEMSELVES.

B4 POSTING, THE MEMBER MUST FIRST REFER TO THIS ARCHIVE TO AVOID TOPIC REPETITION (WE ALL WANT ORGINALITY, RIGHT?)

FOR EXAMPLE...A TOPIC ARCHIVE FOR NEW MEMBERS HELP SECTION SINCE IN THIS SECTION MOST SPAMS OCCUR...

THE MODS WILL CHOOSE THOSE FAQS AND THEN THEY WILL ALSO CHOOSE A SINGLE REPLY FROM A MEMBER WHO GAVE THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE ANSWER TO THAT PARTICULAR POST. IN THIS WAY, EACH MEMBERS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE IN GIVING A RESPONSE, GET IT ???

OR ANOTHER ONE...A TOPIC ARCHIVE FOR RANDOMINSANITY...

THE MODS WILL ALSO CHOOSE AN EXTRAORDINARY TOPIC TO BE PLACED IN THE ARCHIVE WITH ITS CORRESPONDING REPLY TO A MEMBER WHO ALSO GAVE THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY FEEDBACK, GET IT ???

SO OVERALL, BY HAVING AN ARCHIVE, ONE CAN ALWAYS REFER TO THIS TO AVOID REPETITIVE POSTINGS

IM SURE A FEW MONTHS BACK, SOME PEEPS MADE A GOOD TOPIC WORTHY FOR AN ARCHIVE [/color:post_uid14]

bad idea !

advantage
- it tell to look the archive !

disadvantage
- you cannot force people to look at it, so they simply say yes and post the damn thing anyway !

this is not gonna do anything !
the big deal is...
whatever you do, you cannot FORCE people to do the things YOU don't want and for that... you'll always have to look on the forum and do the dirty job of deleting what's not there ! after all, that's what MODS are there to !

i know it's a dirty job, and that is why i don't want it !

well bloodpack, u have a great idea... but NEVER type in caps for the whole post

and karma is right, it won't do anything, besides, it has been like this since the beginning...
if there is no spam, then how do mods do their job? how do ##### get flamed? its all a part of the community, like it or not ;)

Well I agree with dx or whoever said that you cant force the members to do anything. It would be the biggest waist of time ever. If you did that you might as well put yourself down in the guiness book of world records for the most headachy waist of time ever. :D

well its not about FORCING people/ordering them or sumthin, its about...these topic archives will serve as a REFERENCE on the previous topics made by the other members

its 4 them 2 refer to if the topic their about to post has already been made

it is also one way of preserving inspiring/informative/and interesting topics created ago instead of deleting them for good, get wat i mean

ohh...if the mods love wat their doing deleting repetitve topics, why r they flamin at us ???

ohh sorry about the CAPS LOCK :buttrock:

bloodpack: you never understood exactly what i was saying right ?

first: the archive is already there ! no TOPIC as been deleted from the very beginning of XMvsSF ONLINE. the only TOPIC that got deleted where the ones that enterely made of flames or that had nothing to do with any of the sections at all.

second: you say it will reduce SPAMMING by FORCING people to LOOK at the MESSAGE BOX that says to LOOK to the ARCHIVES. in a way your forcing them to do a thing they don't want to !

third: it is not the fact it is FORCING that made this idea a BAD one ! it's the fact no one will ever say YES SHOW ME THE ARCHIVE. they will always say no and POST their POST anyway ! meaning TMYAPP or anyone controlling this forum had WORKED for no apparent reason !

that was my point !
and yes, they yelled at us, but it's their job and if they don't like it then can still stop doing it ! no one is forcing them to !

i consider a MOD as a POLICE OFFICER. have you ever seen any POLICE OFFICER yelling at the guys because they gived them to much job ? no, because it's their job to keep peace in the city, they cannot be everywhere at the same time, but they made the difference. same goes on with the mods, they have a job to keep the PEACE in here, they yelled at us for SPAMMING ? only ##### do because they don't know what this thing is when they join ! so why yelling at ALL of us ?

again, if they don't like their job, no one is forcing them to keep it !

ok, i think i get ur point :)

anyways, the final decision still lies on the hands of the mods themselves, im just suggesting :)

What an interesting/unique idea...

Almost reminds me of myself. Always trying to organize everything to perfection... *tear*

Yeah, well I'm sure if anyone hosting a fansite (like myself) want's to pick up on this idea it might be a good idea...

We'd just have to move them all to another forum section labled "archive" (created by some admin), and have one/couple mods move some topics that are worthy of being in there.

Seem's like a good idea.. what about the rest of you mods/admins?
