I'm not gonna complain about it, that would make double the flames I'll receive just for posting this. But why does it have to exsist? Some people are pretty bad at this game. Last time I played (can't remember account then), I don't think I got but Sentinel and Chun-Li. If it's concern over spamming of good moves, then why does Sentinel only need 5 wins? his strongest normal punch (the laser) is pretty spammable if you ask me.

a small answer would be to make you enjoy a game by having a goal other then the top score !

the true answer is this one...
people wanted to have a goal other the ranking system so having them unlock characters in an old style of play was the answer to it... but then again there was those who wanted the characters to be learned by others because ####s were everywhere !

so this unlocking system was the answer to mainly all these problems...
but in all honesty, i think its stupid, its hard learning to play with all characters and when you think you know all you notivce how not good you are with one of those characters ! so its what i think and i think this should be going out !

i think the unlocking system is just stupid and do not serves a real purpose !

i think it serves a good enough purpose karma. When you realize u "suck" with a certain character in the game, it SHOULD indicate toy you that you need to work on improbing your skill with that character. I KNOW i need to oractice using my Ryu. Lately, i've been finding out that i'm not as good as i used to be back in november. :D

So that's what i think.

The unlocking system is what makes the game challenging and fun. Besides, like Paladin said, as you unlock different characters, u test ur skills with that player to see if better with them. For example, when i first started, i went through all the characters. I tryed wolverine, didnt like him much, then i tried chunli, nope not her either, then when i got to ken, i found i got used to his style quickly. Then for the longest time i wanted to unlock akuma, but wen i finally did, i found that i couldnt use him as well as i used ken so i stuck to using ken. This is what the unlocking system is for, a challenge and testing ur skills with different players.

Well, it does let you look at everyone, instead of just picking one and sticking with him/her. I never thought of that.

actually... testing your skill is the why it was there as i already mentionned...
but fact is... when you'r enot good with other chars then you aren't !

tell me, how can a guy actually use akuma if he loses consistently due to the fact that he can't get used to ryu ?

i normally would be a in all around player when i like a fighting game i usually want to be good with all chars... but it is not the case, unless i play with sent, i will simply suck !
i treye dall the others only to find out that i can't get used to them !

and if ya wanna try the characters then go for it yourself, if you come here choose a character and stay wth him then clearly its you the problem not the game !
so its all a matter if users...
you wanna try the others then go for it...
but i still think its a system that should not be there !

Practice practice practice karma.

When i first started out (oct 1, 04) though i think that was the release of TLF, everyone had to start over. Do you have any idea how many lossesd i had to get before i even reached Ken?

Trust me man, it wasn't easy. But i really wanted it, so i tried my best to get it, regardless of how many losses i got. If the "new comers" REALLY like this game, and want to get better, then they will try and get those wins.

If that's not the case, they have the characters, and they just suck with certain characters, then 2 words for those people, "Story Mode". When i need practice, i go to sotry mode for LOTS of practice.

When do i thik i'm ready? I don't. :D Obviously, i'll have to fight other users to see how good i've become.

Just a few suggestions for the people who feel like giving up
