Weird experience - Lag can play tricks on you

Okay i hosted a 2v2 tag game and i guess everybody liked ryu because thats wat everbody chose. Anyways i started out an the other team was fighting me wit both htere players but it wasnt one of the "infinite super mode" or a rush attack just normal. I took some damage and i tried to tag then my partner came in but i didnt leave. He got hit by like one fireball then he died. So i finished the game and i lost. To see if i could get a better match i asked for a rematch and everybody agreed but then it was even weirder because no fighter was even facing each other for about two minutes when the game started again. So it left me hanging on the question: What the hell just happend?
