LOL
I can't believe you posted that thinking ANYONE would be able to do that as well
you have to remember 3 important pts bud..
1. its linux
2. its linux
3. its linux
How many ppl in here even know what that is? :)
IF you know how to use that operating system theres NOTHING you can't do with it.
btw...you remember when I asked u what school you went to because my bud was going to Trent for programming...ya, this is that bud
The bastard knows linux like the back of his hand, and he knows how to program it
The funny thing is he only did that so he could say he did that. He has no interest in the game, and he promptly deleted it as soon as he finished telling me about it..
He just wanted to rub it in my face

I think alot of you are under the impression he did a shit load of work for this..
you have to remember Dreamcast has an HD, and supports the use of operating systems...Isn't the dreamcast running of windows CE or something? I don't see why you can't just download shockwave and visit this website and play the game if you already own a dreamcast (Isn't this what Sega had in mind when they released the thing?)
I still don't know what he did, but I am going to ask him when I see him why he didn't just use the windows CE that came with it.
but I'm pretty sure he didn't write code for the thing (at least I hope he wouldn't be stupid enough to write the code and then kill it )
Some Can do an some dont know how to do this hmm let me tell you this. Ok They say Dreamcast play online kind of cool but. I dunno about the Xmvss online dreamcast verson:(
But There allway's way' to do, But it's all good about it i never played the dreamcast online but i will try it:)
Thats tight............this game on dreamcast.........lol...........sweeeeeeeeeet!

not bad bone
now.. all we need is SOMEONE with a Dreamcast to sit down, take the time, and show us all (step-by-step) how it can be done (if i had a dreamcast i'd do it me self damnit !!!)
that person would sure as #### be featured in the FAQ (hey, i'd like to offer more of an incentive, but it's 12:21am)
This game on dream cast? Hmmmmmm......... weird but cool :) One question, would this game on dream cast have any lag? If it didn't that would be cool, it would be the best game!!:)

i mean, they discontinued production of Dreamcast and its games because, well, it couldn't measure up to N64 and PSX. Now, with PS2, the gameplay would be amazing

<span style='font-size:10pt;line-height:100%'>WHAT?</span>
They didn't discontinue the Dreamcast because it couldn't compare to the N64 (I like Nintendo, but let's be real here)!!!! They discontinued it because nobody bothered to buy the games, they always just got them off the internet (damned cheaters ruined a great thing).

forgive me, Dan. I did not mean to compare it to Nintendo itself, but the combined force of N64 [b[AND[/b] PSX/PS2 attracted videogamers more than Dreamcast. For example: my friend got Dreamcast, but then sold it because he liked PS2 better, and would rather spend his money on PSX and PS2 games than Dreamcast

Dreamcast wasn't a bad system, but after giving up Dreamcast, they come to make more improved games, like nba2k2, nfl2k2 ect...So I would say giving up dreamcast was a good thing. But da best games were the capcom games, and Shenmue!!!!!!!
p.S: When's Shenmue 2 coming out? and for what system?

What are you retards talking about, "this game on PS2" PS2 doesn't even have an on-line network yet and I doubt it will do well seeing as people don't like paying extra for things ( X-Band anyone?). Anyway TmyApp if I could find a dam ISP that supports Linux dial-up I would glady look into it. Why the fuck won't ISP's support Linux, fuck them dammit! I'm sure you wouldn't have to write extra code for it, but hey you never know. I think X-box would seem more practical for running a game like this seeing as it has more in common with your PC than the other systems. Stop giving money to Micro$oft, give it to me instead...please :(

I believe so... To play this game on PS2 the PS2 would need to be on-line.
If i'm not mistaking, this IS an on-line game. Right?

Dunno, but don't they have a narrowband connection for PS2?. and also Squaresoft is making a narrowband or broadband(forgot wat it was) connection, which is like 10 times faster then narrowband connection. And the first game online might be Final fantasy X!!!WHeeeeeeeeee
Physicals r scary

no tony hawk 3 is the first active online game for the ps2 AND ffx is not going to be online, FFXI is going to be online
Dan Hibiki
01-17-2002, 12:27 PM
Number one, that would be a broadband connection, which is a cable connection.
Number two, Shenmue II isn't coming out in America. You need to import it from Europe (specifically the U.K.) to get it. I'm working on getting it along with the original Shenmue. Did you know Shenmue (one) is the Guiness Book of World Records? It is the most expensive game ever produced at ฤ million.

what is Shenmue II. I've never heard of it
Dan Hibiki
01-17-2002, 12:37 PM
Shenmue and Shenmue II are hyper-realistic true-to-life RPG games. Shenmue (to what I understand) follows the characters search for vengeance for the murderer of his father (if I'm wrong, please correct me). I don't know the story of Shenmue II, but I know that it is following the same story as the first (it happens after the first one).
oO_HoTSauCeOo
01-17-2002, 03:32 PM
Let me add.........Some dude name Ryo Hazuki goes and search revenge for his father's dealth. HIs father was killed by some dude named Lan di, and he must find him and kill him as for revenge. I don't wanna spoil no more, but it's a great game, AMAZING GRAPHICS & GAMEPLAY. But the only bad thing about Shenmue 1 is that the ending is gay. But I won't tell you the ending you'll have to go out and buy it yourself it's a great game.
P.S: Did you know that the places in Shenmue were actually real places?
Dan Hibiki
01-17-2002, 05:51 PM
Yep. Same with Shenmue II (Hong Kong).

Shenmue II will be ported to X-BOX go onto gamespot.com to found out !
XMvsSF online on dreamcast ? simple just make a webbrowser cd like those they sell and put the right macromedia version on it and it will work i tried it out with webbrowser ver 2.0 and it telled me that the flash version wasnt the good one !
so it is simple to make it work but, men how can we put a flash version on a browser that isnt out for people like us ?

wha?Shenmue 2 is coming out for XBox that means I can't use my save file from the dreamcast, ahh dammit.
Dan Hibiki
01-23-2002, 02:21 PM
That's okay, seeing as the Dreamcast's graphics are just as good as the X-Box's graphics 99% of the time. Look at Dead or Alive 2 (DC) versus Dead or Alive 3 (XBOX). The characters have no changes done to them between the two games. Even the backgrounds don't have more polygons.
Quite frankly, I'll take my Dreamcast, thank you very much.
oO_HoTSauCeOo
01-23-2002, 02:37 PM
There's nothing wrong with the graphics, all I wanted to do was use my save file from Shenmue and put it on Shenmue 2 cuz I have a hella lot of money, but after hearing it's coming out for xbox, that means I have to go out and buy one and having to start with the default amount of money for Shenmue 2.
Dan Hibiki
01-24-2002, 04:17 AM
No, you can buy Shenmue II import from Europe for the Dreamcast.
